I am truly enjoying this series while I vook and clean.I love the narration as well. The different accents and what not make me smile and help me imagine the characters.
I love your Alaska series bc it is meaty. This series is great too bc there is a very learning experience. Margery seems to be learning that her life isn’t over just bc she is in her 40s amNd our police officer is in the same place bc of a very serious loss. I like the way you have them both learning how to grow into a better way of life supporting each other. I really like your books. By the way I am 79yo.
I find it difficult to like the character of Margaret in this series. What decent qualities she may have are cancelled out by her annoying arrogance. While it’s a common plot for the female protagonist to defy the law enforcement character and continue with interfering with a homicide investigation, Margaret takes it to an obsessive extreme.
I just left the other book unfinished to see if this has the same characters and yep! Thank you for the warning. I do not like her either. I just wrote about it on the first book's comment section. She is so condescending, and judgemntal, all the while she's a hypocrite! She is unkind to people on the surface, as you said...she might very well be kind in general, but no! She's very unlikable!
I agree. While I appreciate having the audiobooks to listen to while running or doing chores, and although I recognize the “pushy, novice detective” role as common, I find it difficult to enjoy the main character. She seems to be a bully and is aggressive toward the detective. It’s too much, it becomes less than enjoyable. So, thanks for uploading the book. I’m glad I tried it, but I’m going to look for another series.
I'm so enjoying the books. The first two and expect the rest will be just as delightful! Thank you so much!! My only dislike is the woman reading. Her voice does not suit the character...at least in my head.
While I appreciate having free audiobooks to listen to, I must say that the cop in this book is madbto seem very stupid. I know many sleuthing middle aged women who are smart, but none smarter than detectives.
Who is the target audience? 40+ yo heroine would indicate adult literature. The character interactions, however, point to less than young adult, maybe 10-12yo kids? Very naive and inconsistent character development. Poor job on behalf of the editor. It's a pitty. The story deserved better.
I am enjoying this series and continue rooting for Margaret. Thank you very much for uploading to UA-cam.
You're very welcome

I'm so glad!
I’m loving the series - we have rolling blackouts in South Africa & it’s a great way to pass the time.
Thank you! ❤💛🧡
You’re welcome 😊
This is a perfect series to listen to while doing yard work. Love it

I'm going to have to agree. I'm also not very crazy about her son who seems to be trying to boss her around like his father did

Its what irritates me with most female protagonists.

I love this series. Thank you.
i find Margaret to pushy and know it all, and the policeman to wimpy.

The accent is so off-putting...
