The thing I don’t like about organising parts like this is the fact that you have to go through each draw to get the pieces you need. I prefer having them all in front of me

I absolutly adore how orginized you're collection is!
Personally speaking I recently came back into lego collecting and realised how lego makes so many deffirent parts which makes it difficult to find when sorted.
Thankfully a trick i know whould be helpful in the future is to use mini ziplock-bags in small droors (like most of us have).
Lego will always be a big passion of ours and i am glad we can expand our collection while also trying to not fill up the whole house😁.

Fimally someone has shown me drawers and most importantly: DIVIDERS perfect for lego. Those drawer dividers are going to be really helpful to me because i have a lot of different random lego peices that need to be sorted. I must say, this is the best video i have watched this month. And THANK YOU for showing me this stuff. This will most likely be put to good use.

I've recently gotten back into LEGO building and collecting, and as someone who's extremely organized to point of being obsessed, I've been watching many videos on LEGO organization. I've come to the conclusion that I'm sticking with your way of organizing. I've purchased the clear Akro-Mills dividers for my drawers and they seem to be working (yes, those black dividers that you have to clip off from the back of the units are worthless) but I was wondering what Amazon store you bought your, what seem to be, plexi dividers for your bins.

I have looked at about a thousand videos/articles/images etc of lego storage solutions over the years. None of what other people do ever works for me. Everyone needs their own strategy. Only way to find out what you like is to keep trying until the system works for you and your way of building.

I got 5 large totes full of Lego parts and started to sort them out, after watching this video….
What did I get myself into.
I bought bags and bags of Lego that came from ripped boxes from 3 sets on was hogwart school and a city set. I got 10 bags for a 1.00 from a liquidation store and Lego was nice to send me the other 3 bags for Hogwart for free. So I got a $170.00 for a $1.
My question is there is a Japanese block sets that I like but they are not Lego, do you have none Lego block with lego blocks.

the second you transition from drawers and open containers to large ransparent organizers in minimum 6 diferent sizes, some with some without compartments, and when you start sorting first by family, then by part, THEN by color (doesn;t look good for videos but amazingly practical). you know you have transitioned from hobbist to proffesional. Those smal drawrs are insanely unpractical for large scale every day builds, and storage must be one to few steps from building table, othervise 50% of buidling is walking there and back. One of the most important things to know during storage - find a place for certain type of bricks (family), and never change it, so you know without thinkign where is what. I have 5000 kg of bricks, from one part I have one color 1.000.000 parts, other color 1 part - same brick. Storage always evolves depending on what bricks you own. Also, removing sets from parts collection is a must, as they take so much space (I only have one unboxed set, and that is Exo-suit (ideas), and only reason it is unopened is because designer signed the box. Your storage shouldn;t be pretty, but maximaly usable (unless it is part of content creation, then it should be beautiful above all else). If I have a part, but I don;t know where it is, it is just like I don't have it. And my storage containers differ from 125 L (barrels, usually filled with 1x2 or 2x2, 2x4 bricks) to smallest micry plastic containers (for screws or fishing equipment). I tend to organize storage containers so I have least amount of different boxes possible, and literary depends of the amount of a single type of brick I have - if I have few, goes into Wobby House transparent containers, more, to LIDL transparent containers, after that, 4 types of square Metro containers. Following that I have Curver "unbreakable" boxes for larger quantities and barrels (125L) for largest amounts
Storrage cupboards are made from plywood, custom made so I can fit the boxes perfectly.
As I do events logistics is extremely important, as all I build must survive the transport - so I have cardboard boxes that open on side (custom made to the size of baseplate in base (two types, 48x48 and 32x32), and different heights (but standardized, 10, 20, 40 and 50 cm - 60 cm is max to be able to handle them without issue (or carry them without issue). 80% of my baseplates are 48x48, because bigger the base, sturdier the build, especially heigh buildings. Sooner or later you will desire to transport your city to event - plan for that while building.
I have custom made shelves from Plywood that can store 2 of those 48x48 boxes (or 3 32x32), and 60 cm in height (so I can combine my diferent heigh boxes). Dozens of those shelves, and they are cupbboards actually, without doors. And on wheels, so I can move them around in storage. Each cupboard is 40 kg heavy.
I have meny other typs regarding storage and transport of LEGO bricks and mocs, if people are interested. There is some amount of joy of sitting amongst bunch of sorted LEGO bricks inside your storage, isn;t it? :)

So what I do to cut down on cost is I cut up cardboard boxes to use for my akro mills dividers. It’s soooooo easy to do and it’s basically free. I just use the cardboard boxes that I get from lego orders etc. Now it’s clearly not going to look as clean as these clear ones in the video but like he said the clear ones are pricey and with all the other money you’ll need to spend on storage I think saving money whenever you can is important.
To the owners of this channel, thank you so much for finally finding a reasonably priced clear small part organizer. I’m about to order 10 of them as I have over 100k parts on my bricklink store!!
