Same type of scenario happened to me last year we had ducks catching the wind and coming at us right on the water. Next thing you know a guy sets up 60 yards from us where the birds are cupping up and coming into our spread and a guy shoots. This is why I go miles away from people anymore

Totally feel for ya having them set up close. Took my younger brother out for his first time on the opener here in Wisconsin. We got up at 2am to drive an hour to the hole, claimed our spot, had decoys out and at 30 min to shooting time some guys pulled up and set 40 yards from us. I asked if they wanted to just join us since it was so close to go time, but two grandpas refused to join us with their grandsons.
