Jon we still waiting on some car content show us all the whips or atleast take the lexus out on a fishing vlog. I just bought a 2020 is 350 f sport myself
@GregG_88 ya who knows. And hes never really showed his lexus lc coupe, and at one point there was a nice mercedes next to it in his barn in texas. Jons holdin out on us haha
Yoooo Jon, been watching the channel for quite a long time and I am a Mainer. You should definitely try to fish sturtevant stream or the anderscoggin river. They are both chalked full of monster smallmouth and pike, we have a campsite right on sturtevant and it’s the best place I’ve ever fished.
Thankfully you escaped the snapping turtle eating up your lure, I had one hit a topwater lure too! It's such a weird fight, fights and wiggles a little but mostly feels like a 10-15 pound log
I started watching your channel - 2015 I think it was. Watched for the years coming and then drifted away. Seeing these new "exploratory" missions, hidden suburban or abandoned lakes and what not, has me checking back every other day to see if you have posted something new! Keep getting er done. Much love from Queensland, Australia.
You basically fished a unicorn body of water for Maine.. thanks for sharing. Seeing a bed that dry didn’t look like Maines ecosystem haha very desert like
John love your content been watching it for years. You should come down to south Texas and fish the bay with me. I just became a guide and I would love to put you on some trophy speckled trout down south.
Go back there next spring after snow melt... show the difference as it refills... then next fall, then the spring after... document it coming back to life
We were there this summer. We usually fish below the upper dam, snorkeling for crayfish to use as bait for smallies, but that was obviously impossible this year. North Gorham Pond, above Dundee, has the remains of a railway line running through it. It also is loaded with largemouths and smallies, with a small salmon population from spillover from the river above. Anyway, I've been meaning to write for a while, suggesting Upper Pug and Lower Pug Lakes, near Lakeville, Maine. Upper Pug has no public access but I have a friend who has a cabin there - maybe we could go sometime next summer. Lower Pug is accessible via a short trail through the woods that's wide enough to get in kayaks or a canoe. Both have large populations of very large smallies. It seems like the average size on both is around two pounds, and we were consistently getting fish in the 3-4 range. Anyway, loved the video. Thanks.
I would love to see more vids like this. Exploring the wilderness, spreading information about different ecosystems/habitats all while trying to catch fish.
You’re doing great man, I’m loving the content. Especially the one off random gems. I do have to say I like the dam less area more than a damned pond. But I don’t live there nor grew up to see what it could have been. So, if it was my environment I would like the change of scenery. Thanks for the vid
I live 5 min from the pond/river. From what I understand, the dam was malfunctioning last year, but the dam operators told the town that they had fixed it or at least it was going to be operational. Come spring, the mechanism that opens and closes the dam was not working, and they told the town they would have to try and fix it again. It became clear though that the fix was not going to be easy or at least quick, and basically the pond would be dry all summer. There are a few parks that operate on the river, and Dundee Park that runs a summer camp and beach with passes that people bought. To say the locals and town were not happy would be an understatement. That being said, once it fills back in, I think the fish and wildlife will return within a few short years. Plenty of life in the river and below and above the dam.
Jon, you could film grass growing and I would watch it. Your editing style is top of the class and is the reason most of us still watch you after all this time. You have evolved into a film maker. Keep making films, and I will keep watching them.
Wow. New Englander finding out about Dundee drawdown from a dude from Texas. I've only fished there once three years ago, mostly in the southwest cove right off the dam. Bites, no catches, but below the dam in the river I caught a bunch of smallies in the fast current. Jig heads and twirl-tail grubs.
Great video, really enjoyed it. I think you’re correct about the reason for the Tide jug. I hope that place makes a full recovery and then you’re able to go back to it so we can experience it.
You fished one time in midland Michigan and sense then our dam also broke causing the same exact damage locally to one of our lakes effecting the majority of the body’s of water surrounding it. You should come back and check that out. Sanford dam in Michigan
Where I live in Ohio they drained a big lake here and all the fish died because you can literally walk across the bottom of the lake with puddles of water inches deep
As a Mainer who lives a couple minutes from there, this dam break ruined my good trout and Atlantic Salmon this spring just down stream from where you were. Happy to give you some good places in that area for great content. Atlanta salmon run and sea run browns are awesome near there in the spring.
The owners of dam " drained the dundee pond" without telling local govt or residents. People showed up with season passes only to find no water in recreation area.
Still hoping the day comes when Jon and Googan make a 5pc micro jerkbait kit for small steams and rivers. Smallmouth, walleye, trout, crappie and pickerel. Be so sick.
1 like = 1 bong rip 😮💨

Everything is dead.
As a Mainer myself. I loved this video but then again. I love all your Maine stuff. Any more China content coming?
😂 china 🇨🇳 you mean Japan 🇯🇵
Jon if you go with grant back to fishermen’s heaven where u caught that like 9 pounder 5 years ago it would be the best video ever
Hopefully when they rebuild that old dam they add in a good fish ladder for the salmon.
This pond is 2 minutes from my house!
John the brown bottle you found was a fall city beer bottle before long necks

More videos like this. This is the kind of fun stuff I like to see. Everyone in the world is filming bass fishing on bass boat vids, this is fun.

Great video bud

Dundee Pond, coincidental name, speaking of which they started taking out the Cville dam last week and the river above looks like this pond.

Just when you think you’re it can’t get better BAM what a great video content was awesome and videography was on point. 💯
That’s not unfortunate that’s great! Dams have killed off so many fish species
I had to watch just to see that Tash... 😊🤣🤣🤣💪..
Blessings to the life.. 💪😃💖💖💖
making me tear up with that little monologue around 16 mins. Jon B you my boy.
The owners of dam " drained the dundee pond" without telling local govt or residents. People showed up with season passes only to find no water in recreation area.
