Good video. I'm on day 3 of leatherworking so this was helpful. Not sure if you know or have already bought a marble piece but you can ask at any countertop installer for a sink cut out. It's a nice size and I just sanded the edges. Be well.

Good tip. I ended up just buying one at Tandy for $15 and thanks for the recommendation...it really made a much better surface to work on.

You have probably since gotten better since you have been visiting tandy. As a beginner myself, i wouldn't put too much stock in what I say but hopefully it's helpful to someone. so your leather is too wet. wet it so half of the leather is soaked through. you have to let it dry some but only just so until the color looks mottled wet. as it dries.. spray again and let it sit again for a min or so until the surface looks mottled again. i'm having a lot of fun learning. i hope you still are. share more videos. lets see how much you have improved. =)

Great advice! I saw a video where they did a light dampening then zip locked it overnight before tooling. I tried that and it worked pretty well on another project, in case that's helpful to you.

when i did it. the drier it was the more difficult it was to emboss but i didn't keep it extremely wet and half of what i did was $hit. i'm going to keep crackin at it.
