Big props for your 3 individual videos on the uniit circle. A lot of these videos on memorizing the unit cricle were craming all these numbers in a 10 minute video and I was honestly getting overwhelmed. Clicked on your video and I was slapping my face on how obvious some things were. You explain things so clearly! Thank you.

I just turned 13 and love math. Trigonometry is a subject I was trying to grasp, specifically the unit circle. This video is actually so good at explaining the unit circle and teaching about radians, and plotting coordinates with it. I finally can jump to the next step in trig and start learning how to graph sine and cosine graphs. 😁

Beautiful presentation - I watched all 3 videos for a quick refresher!!! When I was in school, I never memorized the unit circle and all the coordinates...I just got really good at right triangle trig, and I could figure each problem out as I went. That is why I greatly appreciate your approach, which explains the "how to" and the "why" instead of just giving the values. I'll be referring you to my students for some quality tutorial videos!
Thank you! I taught geometry several years before I taught trig. Special right triangles made sense of it.

how do you know the hypotneuse is 1 based off the radius
The unit circle is defined as having a radius of 1 unit and the hypotenuse is a radius of the circle.
Are the coordinates at 6:56 correct? Seems like the 60-degree angle coordinates need to be reversed.

How to find the center of a radius. With given radius and one coordinate?
I'd use the midpoint formula. (x1 + x2)/2, (y1+y2)/2.

I think there's a slight mistake at the very end of the video when you summarize all the concepts. For coordinates, the 30 and 60 degree coordinates are the same, it should be inverse, no? Thanks!
Not surprised I made a typo. When I made these last year, I was in a hurry to get them uploaded for a friend’s class. Let’s call it “extra credit” if someone finds the mistake!

LOL! Take a trigonometry class in real life. You’ll need it then The real answer is that trigonometry is about advanced math functions that describe how some things work in the natural world. Electricity, physics, etc. It's a prereq for calculus - which is when the really cool stuff happens.
well, I have something to apply it on, but for me it is new, so... I need to understand it therefore more.

am I the only one that got confused asf when the final coordinates of the unit circle came up? Like that's just definitely wrong

Yes, I know about that typo. Let's just call it "error analysis".
Great video, but the coordinate summary at 6:48 is (respectfully!) a bit of a mess 😅 The coordinates for the 30-60-90 triangles are backwards (so some signs would have to change), and the negative in front of the x-coordinate at 330 degrees has to go🙃 Really well done, otherwise 🤘
Advantage of teaching over being a solo video creator is that I have about 30 “editors” checking my work in class if I screw up. If they are really good ones, it’s a teaching moment. If they are really dumb, I demonstrate how to find them, fix it, laugh it off, and move on. Sadly, UA-cam doesn’t allow for the edits necessary. I’d have to pull the whole video down. Figured smart kids would get the big ideas anyway. Not the first or the last math mistakes I’ve made in public. Good catch.
@@doesmathforcoffee That's a great way of looking at it :) I would encourage making the changes and putting the video back up because the rest of it is 🤌 I was doing a refresher for my calc III class and I definitely had a "...wait...something's not right..." moment lol, and confirmed it like 4 times to make sure I wasn't just seeing things before commenting lol.
See? Unintentional teaching moment. YOU checking it as a student is more useful than this 62 year old busy teacher stressing about being perfect on UA-cam. Can’t just replace a video - when it’s deleted, all the views and watch hours are deleted, too. I will probably edit the description at some point. We just started our second semester this week, so my kiddos need algebra and geometry content right now. Good luck in Calc III! What degree program are you working on?
