Here's something to help you with the giraffe birth, Mike. Giraffes give birth standing up. The baby proceeds to fall six feet to the floor. This is a good thing because the fall helps kickstart their ability to breathe independently. So while most animals are born in relative peace, a giraffe starts life with a fall and a smack on the floor.
Sam: "That's my guy, that's my boy!" While he's already doing other chores will never seize to get me. Like a proud father of a 3yo counting to 10. I re-watched the original soo many times 😂😂😂
I had a medical professional with handwriting that looked like it came from a cursive writing lesson. It was weird. My handwriting used to be that good until I kept getting punished for writing in cursive. This was incredibly frustrating after being told that after primary school, teachers only accepted work written in cursive. Now my handwriting looks terrible in both. It doesn't help that I have trouble with my hands now, either.
In defense of Dr. Mike, "worms on a sperm" meets the rhyme scheme and it's about as far removed from the correct answer as the width of that sperm's "hairs" are from the width of what normal hair would be. I think he deserves the point on that one. Edit: The "tunnel fish-ion" just confirms it, he has a unique mind and must be protected at all costs.
6:48 - That's Strange Planet. It's a comic strip where it takes normal human behaviour and describes it strangely, using alien characters and knockoff versions of Earth things to poke fun. For example, they might turn "Petting the cat" as "Running my primary tactile extremities along the domesticated miniature feline's insulating covering", or instead of simply saying "tall" they might say it is "vertically large". It is generally about how odd human behaviour is, if taken out of context.
Strange Planet is so much fun. Not so much for laughs, granted, but for the irony and quirky ways of saying things. I love how they rewrite songs like Itsy Bitsy Spider and Take Me to the Ball Game and make them still fit the tune.
I watched most of these videos in time, but tracking the timeline after-the-fact through Dr. Mike's beard is HILARIOUS to me. Also as a linguistics graduate I love Sam trying to lead Dr. Mike into the solutions for so many of the memes.
Dr. Mike, you are literally my favourite doctor because you have so much knowledge and experience and yet you never shy away from not understanding memes. It shows how human you are.
