- Series 2 episode 3 from 1979. Hosted by Michael Aspel, and with team captains Una Stubbs, and Lionel Blair.
This episodes guests are: Lulu, Katie Boyle, Isabel Milsome (member of the public), Bernie Winters, Jim Davidson, David Montanarini (member of the public).
Thanks for the upload. A more innocent and more entertaining time.
Not true
2:25 you can hear jim davison say "hes the wrong colour to be a bus conductor".
14:22 you can hear the member of the public say "coon" (greeted with hilarious laughter from the audience), so within the space of 12 minutes that's two things that would cause outrage on TV today. And on a programme presented by that doyen of TV respectability Michael Aspel!!
I miss those days
Jim with his Bay City rollers haircut. 😂😂😂
British humour at its best ❤
Jim looks like a cross between Steve Winwood and Daryl Hall!
Legend
Jim and Michael are the only ones still standing. Michael's now 91.
I don't think Jim Davidson was too keen on the member of the public , shaking his hand and slapping him on the back.....I never thought this member of the public thing worked.
Ironic really, most of the public aren't too keen on Jim Davidson.
😂
Correct me if I'm wrong but that theme tune is almost the same as grange hill
I like him
A slim Bernie winters!
I used to work in the same store as Michael Aspel after he'd left, in the accounts department, I remember asking why there were pictures of him on the wall.
That's because Aspel was a prolific shoplifter who they were on the lookout for 😂.
Chambermaid has 3 syllables, Jim
Isn't that the same theme music to Grange Hill?
I've heard that theme before wonder where 😂🤣
@Kriss Bell -The Wannabe Composer _Grange Hill_ used the original recording of "Chicken Man", while the version on _Give Us a Clue_ was rearranged to fit more as a light entertainment theme tune.
Thanks saved me some time.
Same theme as grange hill.
Aspel dressed like Scarface.
Still dont rate Bernie Winters
Neither did Morecambe and Wise.
When Mike and Bernie Winters played the Glasgow empire and Mike winters was already on stage having started the act and was dying a thousand deaths.....an audience member spotted Bernie Winters walking onto the stage from the wings and shouted out: "oh Christ there's another one".....that just about sums up how bad and unfunny the Winters were....
@@CherryBelle-sh2jx Lionel Blair - performing with the Winter brothers that evening - said it slightly differently when appearing on BBC2's _The Story of Light Entertainment_ to tell that story: "Ahh fuck, there's two of 'em". I prefer his version. Along with M&W, the only comedians to come out of Glasgow in credit were Cooper and Brucie. Maybe there were others. Doddy, perhaps?
@@Crazy1Clive ...I censored my version for UA-cam 😆
@@Crazy1Clive I also loved Les Dawson's quip re playing the Glasgow Empire........if they like you they let you live lol 😆. My darling mum, God rest her soul, came from Glasgow ❤️
