There is no greater joy in life than watching your own child succeed. This is by far the best moment I have ever witnessed in my professional career as a Scuba Instructor. I dedicate this video to my oldest daughter Tessa. Know that you daddy loves you more than you will ever know, and it has been an honor and pleasure to share the experience of seeing the underwater world first hand. Always remember God Loves You And So Do I.

Is was a blessing to have you and your family there diving with us. Tessa is looking forward to our Florida Trip. All she has talked about is diving with Mackenzie again.
That is so awesome. I know that's a proud day for everyone and having her grandfather bring her cert card under water and giving her a hug is truly amazing. Three generations in the water for a very memorable day. Congratulations to everyone.

I have a tear running down my cheek that started when you handed her the c-card. Reminds me of when my son and I certified together and got our c-card underwater. I was SO proud of him at 12 years old. After he got his card, he did a little dance underwater. It was at that moment, that I had to perform another mask clearing skill. This is awesome 👏. Congratulations Tessa!!!

I'm also a diving instructor and my 11 year old son is close to completing his diving license requirements..I'm still thinking about how to celebrate it at the time of certification

I have a 5 year old and one on the way and I cannot wait to add them to my buddy list! Could you possibly do a video on the process of getting kids involved? Like I know there's a bubble blower/ranger program but no idea what the kiddos actually do or learn.

One question (and I am not questioning your professionalism in any way here): can you certify your own daughter? Wouldn't there be a possible conflict of interest somehow?
I don't believe there is any conflict (just as there is no conflict in homeschooling a child); and if anything, a parent scuba instructor would probably be harder on their own child-student than a walk-in student off the street.
If you feel that there may be a conflict of interest, there is no harm asking another instructor to take her through her paces. After all, if you think about home schooling, eventually the child has to take exams which is, of course, what you are teaching the child for.
Hello Gijs va Lieshout, this is a concern that we hear a lot. But as others have stated, typically, parents will be harder on their children than normal students. This is the case with me. I expect more from Tessa than I do my average students.
You have good reasons to be proud. She is really relaxed in water. Hwever, open water certificate does not qualify for penetration dives...😜
This is very true N N. But one of the perks of having a dad who is an Instructor, you get extra training in the off days. She has 0 fear, which is very scary for me, but she tells me everyday, "Dad, can you train me on how to do this specific type of diving, I really would like to go and explore more?" So needless to say the rest of her summer is booked with specialty courses.

I do have one question: I am a Divemaster with CMAS and I am trying to purchase a PADI SASY system for my 6 year old (I know it costs as much as a real BCD combo BUT I wish to follow protocol). Any idea where I can get one of these and especially in Europe?
