It's been a while guys, glad to see you're back with this track from the new album,
Another song with that typical wtf effect they get us used to it.
Queen SuMetal is narrating us a King's tale of the Metal Kingdom with this psytrance mixed with middle eastern, maybe Arabian or whatever sound that looks so cool with the unique blend of BM.
This was at BabyMetal Begins - The Other One - Clear Night live at PIA Arena MM, Yokohama, last April 2nd with the already new official member MomoMetal, she was one of the avengers since 2019 and coming from the same roots in Sakura Gakuin just like the girls. YuiMetal left the group officially in 2018, technically she stopped performing since last quarter of 2017, after that there were a crew of backup dancers touring with them and later they came back in 2019 with the avengers system, another crew of three dancers rotating from show to show or even performing in the same show, until 2021 when one of them, Momoko Okazaki become stable backup dancer and recently blessed by the Fox God with the supernatural power just like the other beloved girls, SuMetal and MoaMetal.
The Western Kami Band was performing there but this MV got album studio sound so there's no particular credits for the instruments only the composer and lyrics.
Some fans at Sabaton's Europe Tour and later at Asian and Australian Tour were enjoying this song live, but everyone were having a blast with the new singles and classic BM songs.
There's a lot of songs for you to catch up what are they doing now but I'll go with this brand new collab song outside of the new album and with someone you gotta know:
- BM feat. Tom Morello - METALI!! official MV (no, it's not the same song title and you'll find the same title but written in Japanese)
They recently performed at Summer Sonic Festival being the closing act right after Evanescence, such an honor, and they even took a picture together, finally we got these two legends together.
Pretty soon is gonna start the US live tour joining forces with the Dethklok in the Babyklok Tour as well some more festival around like Blue Ridge Rock, Louder Than Life and Aftershock, so don't miss out the chance to see them live and enjoy these songs and the new one with Tom Morello.

Welcome back, its been far too long since your last BABYMETAL reaction - thanks to The Fam Jay Crew for the excellent recommendation.👏
BABYMETAL have been a duo for the last 4 or 5 years - Yuimetal was taken ill at the end of 2017 and missed the 2018 tour before she announced in October 2018 that she was still not fully recovered and had decided to leave the band.
Su-metal and Moametal chose to continue as a duo through to (and a bit beyond) their 10th anniversary in 2020. They were supported by the Avengers in live shows - 3 dancers taking turns to dance in the third spot. They were Riho, Kano and Momoko.
Momoko was the only Avenger left after about March 2020.
In 2021 they went on a hiatus. and disappeared - until snippets of new songs started being released and then new singles and the promise of a new album (The Other One) to be released in March 2023.
The played two shows in January (their first in nearly 2 years) and teased a new third member - she was revealed in their shows at the start of April (where this video was filmed) - and it was Momoko (now officially Momometal).
You have some great songs to catch up on - a whole new (concept) album is waiting for you.🦊

This was filmed at Babymetal Begins - The Other One: Clear Night on April 2nd this year at PIA Arena MM in Yokohama and I can say from personal experience that the actual live performance looked pretty much like what you see here. Babymetal's live shows in Japan are ridiculously spectacular.
Seeing BabyMetal in Japan is on my bucket list. 😊

I'm sure you'll get a million comments just like this one, but you should definitely check out their newest video "Metali!" with Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave, etc).
As for the band changes from the original lineup, I can only give a short version. In 2018, one of the original Trio (Yui) left due to health reasons and the band went on until 2023 as just a duo (Su and Moa) with a few backup dancers for live shows and released their album "The Other One". On April 1, 2023 they named their longest running backup dancer (Momoko, or Momo-metal) as the newest official member, making them a trio once again.
And all is right with the world 😁😎

Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。 Metalizm was premiered in the two-day shows on April 1/2 and I witnessed the both at the venue in Yokohama😍. This MV is from Day-2 when Momoko appeared as the 3rd official member, Momometal, for the first time. Western (American) Kami Band did a great job in those shows and their actual plays were much better and heavier than the studio sound in this MV.
You may have noticed the repetitive phrase "Zumu Zumu". It is interesting, because it reminds me of another phrase with tonal similarity "Muzu Muzu". When you feel itchy or tickling or a kind of slight frustration, Japanese people express it using this phrase "Muzu Muzu".
In an interview, Su referred to this song with Arabic flavor as "a new drawer of BABYMETAL" [source : magazine PMC vol. 27, page 41]. I viewed this choreo on stage by Su, Moa and Momometal as mixture of seriousness, playfulness, comicalness, therefore amazingness on top of Su's fantastic vocals and intricate guitar phrases and hefty drumming by West Kamis. The new drawer is a tribute to New BABYMETAL.
Su smashed Bollywood metal with Shanti shanti shanti, had Sabaton dancing to her euro polka beat with Oh Majinai, and now she's got Arabian/Egyptian metal with Metalizm... this is my fave so far from the new album... This is like a darker sister of Shanti Shanti, love the way she does that yodeling thing with vocals, the choreo looks a lot like Shanti Shanti Shanti too.🤘🦊🤘

They were a technically a duo since Yui left in 2018. But on stage they only performed as a duo between December 2017 and October 2018. From April 2023, with the addition of Momoko Okazaki, now MOMOMETAL, as an official member they are a trio again.
"METALIZM" can be considered as the "rarity" musically from their new album, The Other ONE. Mainly because it's different in every single aspect. That kind of the minor harmonic scale used here gives the song its Middle Eastern flavor.
I was lucky enough to experience it live in concert last May and I have to say that the song hits harder and CJ Masciantonio's work on those guitar solos is exceptional.

Later three so called "Avengers" filled the 3rd spot (one of them was Momoko Okazaki=Momometal who was also from Sakura Gakuin like the original three). Since the other two now do their own things, only Momoko stayed and was recently announced as the official third member Momometal. Greets from Germany. I’m with you with liking the mix of music styles.
BabyMetal started as a trio with SuMetal, MoaMetal and YuiMetal but in 2018, I believe, Yui left the group apparently for health reasons. Since then it has been either just Su and Mia but at times they were alternating between 3 dancers to make up the trio. Just this year they announced MomoMetal as the 3rd permanent member. In this song she is on the left and Yui is on the right. Momo is a phenomenal dancer. Su and Yui are incredible dancers in their own right but Momo just has that extra intangible trait. On quick movements she is so crisp.
This song… Makes me want to do drugs and blast down the road at night breaking various traffic laws. 🤣🤘🦊
Babymetal brief: Original member Yui left band officially in 2018 due to health reasons. Babymetal went on as duo of Su and Moa + “Avengers”. They are 3 back up dancers rotating into 3rd slot. After proving herself, Momoko, one of the avengers was inducted as the official 3rd member at end of 4/1/23 concert. Now she has a mic and official. Well earned, and congrats Momo!!
