    The beauty of this video is it highlights the fact that "drivers" are still necessary; by automating low level tasks more cognitive resources can be allocated to novel problems to solve (create new things);
    This will allow those with imagination to leverage it in increasingly powerful ways; The future is for imagineers;

      I think it would depend on how regulated it becomes. If there are specific guidelines set up for how the AI should function, then there is a possibility that it could be restricted in the information it provides. I think this is the smart choice for ChatGPT because if it is not regulated, there will be copyright issues as the art community is already dealing with. Not sure if it will go this way but we'll see. For now, I think dev jobs are safe for the next year or 2.

    I was having a similar concern when I was working in banking industry, so many things could've been simplified and updated, but it's always the same old technology that keeps breaking down and having the professionals come to fix it.
    Until one day my senior coworker told me this and my concern was answered.
    He told me "You know there are so many people making a living fixing these things right? If we just decided to optimize everything, instantly we don't need them anymore, they'll probably lost their job, a lot of them, and each one of them is a small economy, if so many small economies go down like this, guess what happens to the whole economy? It might cause certain chain reactions like domino effects. But, if our machine keeps breaking down, we'll have a demand of handling it and fixing it, and that's how so many of us making a living out of it."
    I guess similar thing will happen to these AI tools, in reality, some people and companies will try not to replace and optimize their business with these tools, just so our society can have more time think about to utilize the extra human power in this society.
    But some companies will definitely make 100% use of it to cut down all the cost, but what kind social dynamics will this take us to and shape us to, I don't know. Maybe we can all have our own small business and everyone can just rely on these AI tool to make a living.

      isn't this the broken window fallacy? The time they spent on fixing and refixing machines could be used more productively elsewhere when the machines takes over? You just need to save for a rainy day whilst you get money and retrain as the job market changes....stopping innovation is like pissing into a 10 ft wave hoping you'd change its direction....I happen to think humans should focus on becoming a better species. More empathy, love, inclusion, open discussion will reduce a lot of depression that is happening in the developed world.

    Once chatgpt becomes a paid service, the cost of manual programming will be cheaper to companies, and thus companies would potentially be outsourcing to workers willing to code for significantly cheaper than investing in employees. Then, when another competitor comes in with a similar service at lower profit margins, the same thing will happen, and eventually programmers won't really have these jobs anymore, but maybe it has the potential to create future jobs that focus on the bigger scale of things. Like how programming underwent a change from a few decades ago to recent times.

    what people need to understand from now on is that AI will change the world of programmers enormously. Think that jobs in software development are so well paid only because it is hard to find people in this field of activity. When AI will be able to ease the work of developers by 90%, and I don't think it's long until then (3-5 years), then all the huge salaries that programmers receive today will be normalized by the market. There will no longer be any difference between the salary of a programmer and a taxi driver. Because the programmer's intellectual effort will disappear, there are no more reasons for companies to pay programmers. I personally worked for years in the development of banking applications, and also because of the huge costs of programmer salaries in the industry, banks in Europe found digitized solutions based on advanced forms of AI that replaced software engineers who created solutions in code in proportion of over 80% so far. The salaries of the people who stayed on those AI-based software are minimal because they don't have to think anymore, they just press their buttons and the commands are executed. Microsoft has already fired 10,000 people and declared that they will invest billions of dollars to develop AI to replace programmers in most tasks. Will they still need programmers? Yes, but with a 10 times smaller number of programmers and who will be paid much less. chatGPT 4 will use trillions of times more parameters for much greater accuracy. What you see now is just a monster of what they already have. Plus chatGPT is not only for programming in express mode, but there will be extremely powerful solutions that will be specifically for programming and then an AI will obviously replace over 90% of the capabilities and needs of a programmer.

Try copy and pasting some advanced code wars problems and you will see what I mean. It invents functions and classes even in popular languages like python. You still need someone at the wheel to parse the code to understand what is just made up nonsense and what is legit code.

After I can ask it questions and assign it tasks but I still have to be very specific in telling it to only pull information from the forum. It still struggles to be comprehensive in tasks like building a team. But asking the right questions is everything. I'm sure your correct abouts it's limitations because there is so much out of date and easy to confuse coding out there. I don't actually program in the major languages, I use qb64, I'm a hobbiest that programs my own projects. I tried this out for the first time last night, It actually can write code for it! however, I'm constantly training it. I should now jump on board the other languages because they are being trained by millions of others as I think I was the first person to start training it on qb64 (judging by it's first line of code using screen 12 or screen 13 instead of screen _newimage(1920,1080,32) :P
    Anyways, remember seeing Jurassic Park for the first time, or the movie Twister? How it was one of those moments that changed visuals forever, or that this is where we advanced! Well, right here, Chatgpt is one of those moments... For now, it's infancy, but holeeeeeeeee. This is going to be crazy...

    I was pretty sure ChatGPT would not respond that way to the prompt you gave at the beginning of the video. And that this is a clickbait video like all the others.
    And I was correct, "I'm sorry, I am a language model and do not have the capability to write code for a todo list application using Next.js. However, I can provide you with some general information and guidance on how you could build such an app."
    I've had relatively mild success with some app writing. But never with a basic prompt as the one you used.
    Plus this will never replace the job of programmers. In fact, this only secures their positions, especially down the line when it comes to scaling up a program and still being able to understand what needs to be done

    I'm amazed by the power of AI, and this video is a perfect example of how Chat GPT can generate effective code with ease and add its own unique style to it. It's fascinating to see how AI technology is revolutionizing the world of programming and making it more accessible to everyone. I'm excited to see how this technology evolves in the future and how it can help us solve complex problems and make our lives easier.

    Even still most of them create static websites with available templates, so front end become useless ?
    It’s for us to grow ❤❤. So please don’t take it negatively.

A programmer will be required to debug and chip new versions of the applications... So don't be scared because it won't replace developers
