Goku’s favorite Chashu Tonkotsu Ramen

- The "official Dragon Ball answer" is that Goku eats everything, but my personal take is a combination of Chashu Pork and Tonkotsu Ramen. After the passing of the great Akira Toriyama, I wanted to honor him in my own way for creating the legendary work that was such a huge part of my childhood.
A SPECIAL THANKS to Rifti Beats for providing 3 of the amazing background music on this video:

"Tackle life with as much energy as Goku. I'll try to do the same!" - Akira Toriyama
I'm gonna need a lot of ramen for that
"I'm not much of an artist..."
Proceeds to show gorgeous bowl of ramen...
😂😂😂
I believe Toriyama might have agreed with me when I say that art is not bound by a medium, only limited by your own boundaries.
Your medium just happens to be food!
beautifully put, I appreciate the open mindedness!
Food is art you can eat.
When I imagined the tributes that people would make for Toriyama, I thought of art, murals, animation, music, but never food. Though really, I genuinely can’t think of a better way to honor him.
That brought a tear to my eye :) thank you for the compliment
You have talent man... The presentation, care and technique is out of this world.
Appreciate the compliment!!
Great job. Looking forward to your future videos.
Thank you! I’m just getting started always looking to improve
I really appreciate that you included the preparation of the chashu from start to finish. Many video recipes skip these instructions in their videos. Thank you! :)
Essential to show every step. Thanks for watching!
Bro, I genuinely enjoyed the whole video!
The camera work is really good for someone who doesn't have the infinite foodtube money hack (yet)
The audio levels are pleasant to my ears(great balance between the music, the voiceover, and the background noise.
Im genuinely stoked to have found your video(the algo knows that I enjoy cooking and am at least 19% weeb) and I was surprised to see so few subscribers!
I wish you the best in your foodtube adventures and I'll definitely be here to watch the process!
Gonna go check out your other videos, hope you have a great night!
thanks for the amazing feedback!! That really gives me motivation to see where this goes. I just started playing with filming and editing 4 weeks ago with my first video. Honestly been having a blast figuring out camera angles, balancing music, editing, and cooking to make an entire project. Glad the audio levels are good, I have been stressing over that since nobody gave me feedback regarding it. Hope you'll swing by in future videos!
@wei.tan28 I will definitely swing by your stuff as you put it out!
Take your time and keep doing what feels right!
The feedback will come(good and bad as always) and even if some people don't like your style, there is a following for damn near everything out there!
Believe in yourself and just like with food, make something you enjoy!
As a fellow self-taught home chef, I've messed up plenty of recipes, but once I hit that perfect execution, I am happy as a clam.
Same thing with all paths in life!
I completely agree. I'm just approaching this as a hobby right now since I love cooking, and have come to realize I love filming and editing as well. I'm just happy I can put out a project I can watch back and be like "wow I made this video and it's pretty damn good"
@@weis_eats bro, I keep smiling bigger and bigger.
So damn glad I found your channel!
THIS, this comment mentioned everything I wanted to say! Such a superb video, production quality is so good for someone who says he's just started a few weeks ago! You're a star!
He sure laid down a groundwork for shonen & a number of other sways in video gaming making, as evidenced by such game series as Dragonquest & Chrono Trigger. Even more fittingly & touching, his final edit was an addition of Piccolo (days to have been his fave character from the series of best known works) waving good bye to what looks to be the viewer in a manga ending before flying off
One of the greatest to ever do it. Very glad Piccolo is getting the spotlight again
Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night having nightmares about playing the Chrono Trigger game. But I beat that game and it was a Tough game To Beat...
I'm super sick and feverish right now and this video just made my day. It was so calming and relaxing and the editing was just perfect!
I'm sorry to hear that, hope you feel better! Glad my video could help in a tiny way :)
Looks amazing mate! I can see why Goku would scoff down bowls of this lol!
"I'm sorry, but I couldn't wait to cook the Ramen"
This man really do be all of us. Just today I was thinking about cooking a cake and thought "Nah, I'll do it tomorrow." 3 hours later I was beating that mix and now I'm waiting for it to cool down so I can apply the frosting
My stomach does 99% of my thinking
Ngl i didnt see your subs at first, after the video i thought you had 300k subs something like that. You deserve more subs bro. Keep uploading
Comments like these is what makes me want to make more videos, not the sub count :)
You made it look soo good
Akira is eating amazing ramen in the afterlife now May Akira Toriyama San RIP
🙏🙏
Great video to honor Akira Toriyama's legacy 👍🏾
That ramen looks so delicious
Amazing recipe, loved your video! Keep it up man!
Thank you!
Never been into that video game. But without a Doubt that Ramen is a Work of Art! I Subscribed...
Thanks and welcome!
BEAUTIFUL!!! I LOVE RAMEN!!!!!
What a superb video! I liked everything, especially the pleasant dbz/db gt bg music! (yes i noticed)
Everything was so pleasing to my eye and ear that i was blown away completely when i noticed you have less than 1000 subscribers! Youre a star my man! Well worth the subscribe!
Thank you for the compliment!! Just started a month ago, just want to make good content everything else is a bonus
Keep up the great work
💪
Really high quality video! Surprised it doesn’t have more views
I’m content making videos I’m proud of!
Good stuff!
Here before you blow up! Such a relaxing vibe, love the direction you're taking with cooking content happy to get recommended this to me while I eat dinner :)
I’m happy making good content, don’t need to blow up!
Just watched your braised wings video, followed by this amazing looking ramen. Great videos, can't wait to see more from your channel. I'll definitely be subscribing for future uploads, as well as trying these recipes myself.
Thanks for watching, hope you see you in future videos!
this is a great video, like your comments about stuff as you make it. I played and watched dbz all the time as well and its nice to see someone similar age making such a good tribute dish and you know what you are doing. glad I found this!
Amazing how widely influential his works were. Thank you for stopping by!
@@weis_eats for sure, one of my best memories was renting dbz vhs tapes from the library and watching them at my grandmas when i would go over there. speaking of renting, back when netflix was a mail in rental company i rented the dbz movies because i could never find them. I played all the games from budokai 1all the way to tenkaichi 2 without missing a game.
You know I’m hyped for the new Budokai!
@@weis_eats hope you and your brother can play it! I am a lot older than my brother so i didnt grow up playing those games with him but since hes been alive we played xenoverse and stuff together and i got him kakarot for his birthday one year, im sure he would love to play that with me sometime. thanks again for the amazing video, watched it again while i was back to comment.
Man thought GT was the bomb. I'd respect that.
Underrated tbh
nice and looks so good :)
Thanks for watching!
i grew up with a lot of Toriyama's works, some of them i didn't even realize he made till years later, i have nothing but respect for anyone who takes their time and puts some serious love and effort into making things from his work!!
honestly gonna set this video up on my ipad and make my own Goku's ramen!! probably won't be as good as the video cause i'm not that good at cooking XD but i'm gonna try my best!
It’s a lot easier than you think! Let me know how it turns out. Thank you for your kind words!
@@weis_eats update!! I did it!! i was worried their but your video helped me so much especially with the Chashu, i've never made Chashu before and your video helped me so much in getting it right!!!
thank you for this, cause of you i got to enjoy something from the mined of Toriyama!!!
Glad to hear it!! Hope you enjoy
@@weis_eats i did, i made enough for a few bowls over a weeks time, i sadly do not have the eating capacity of a sayian lol so i made to much!!
Looks great bro, bet it was tasty!
Thanks for watching!
Commenting so i have proof that i found u before u become famous 🎉🎉🎉😊 great content
Haha what a great compliment! I’m happy just making good content, not trying to get famous :)
yeah buddy
ain't nuthin but a peanut
The Cartel will favor you for this
we didn't get to see the ramen be enjoyed....Goku style! haha
That’ll be for next time 😂
Day one of ask you to make goku’s chashu tonkotsu ramen
Did you have any professional experience in film making or education for it? Or was everything self-taught?
Fully self taught. My first video was a month ago, I started learning how to film on my iPhone and learned basic editing on UA-cam haha. It is a lot of learning on the go
Ayo you really gotta sharpen your knife, the way you have to manhandle those scallions is wild.
in chinese cooking its pretty common to use a cleaver to pick up things you're chopping since its really convenient, and the knives are cheap and get sharpened daily
Man where does one even acquire pork belly 😢 i dont see it at my grovery store
try asian grocery stores! I've also seen Costco carry uncut pork bellies like these. I got mine at Wegman's. Wholefoods could possibly have them as well
Should've placed a paper towel on top of the eggs while marinating
I’ll keep that in mind next time!
Great vid. Music was a bit annoying.
Sorry to hear that! It was remixed music from the show that I grew up with, and the music was very important to me
I didn’t know ramen had styles… I’ve never not liked it though
shoyu, tonkotsu, miso, there are plenty!
Now you just need to make another 20 bowls of this and Goku is set!
more like 200 lol
