@@Themoreyouknowthelessyouknow0 silverwings is getting a graphic novel 📖 🦇
You mean what would you give?
And more seasons!
Man, this takes me back...I remember being a little kid, using a sheet to pretend I had bat wings and toys to pretend I was on some quest with the silverwings. Its crazy how much I remember from this show and how excited I was when It came on. thank you for this :)
U should still do that

Our childhood was the best of our lives
what year of the 2000s did this film series come out😊?
I remember being so shook and disturbed when the cannibalism was introduced 😆
Not really cannibalism if they’re different species of Bats
@@kbtitan2464the logic in this show doesnt really make sense....Hawks and owls regularly eat small birds
My God I finally found this cartoon again! I'm so happy
Man if only this was made by the animators of the secret of nimh. The animation is great, but whenever I read the books I imagine them with that type of animation and it really pulls me in. This was a big part of my childhood, nice to see it was a part of so many others. Cheers
The cannibal bats are pretty good villains, I like how they seem to represent invasive species throwing off the balance of native ecosystems. Also, I did some research, apparently Goth and Throbb are supposed to be Spectral Bats. Spectral Bats are a species of carnivorous bat from Central America, they're characterized as having leaf-shaped noses and being the largest bats in the Americas.
Technically they are no more cannibals than people in the Amazon who eat bushmeat. Goth and Throbb are not the same species as the Silverwings.
@@fanghur But they're still Bats, and in this story, all the Bats are sapient. If your prey could talk back and tell you how scared they are to die, then you'd have to be pretty hardcore in order to actually follow through with hunting them.
@@jacobcox4565 I never said they weren’t evil.
@@fanghur actually the minute they decided to eat bats became cannibals.
@@TheresaHall-vl1bm the definition of cannibalism is eating meat from a member of your own species. Goth and Throb are not the same species as Shade is. It would be like calling someone who eats chimpanzee or gorilla meat a cannibal since we’re both apes.
Wish they had made a cartoon for Sunwing and Firewing
YESYESYESYESYES!!!!!
THERE. MUST. BE. MORE. SILVERWING. TV SERIES. OR. ELSE. I. GO. COMPLETELY. INSANE.
IT'S KILLING ME THAT THERE IS NO MORE!!!!!!!
And Darkwing?
Can't forget Darkwing, right? :3
DangerHillTerror I could try if you don't mind CGI?
DangerHillTerror Sorry I'm only CG and Stop-motion, but I do love animation and the books, so I would have no problem with animating Sunwing and Firewing if thats what people want, hell I'd do it just to finnish the damn story!
DangerHillTerror That is true, copyright can expire after a certain amount of time. Unfortunately that amount of time can span up to 70 years! But if one was to animate the other two books for non commercial purposes I'm sure that would be fine as no direct profit is being made. Pumpkin.
I watched the whole 4 hours of this without moving off my bed!
I officially have now life and am desperate for a toilet break XD
This got me into the books as a kid. Amazing series
The character design is awesome. Bats never looked more awesome :D
My dad got me this from a Discount as i was 5-6. Little did he know they became my favorite movie at all time. I pretended to be a bat at the credits of every movie , using only my pink sheets at the time. It became a tradition of some sort and my parents were tired of it.
I remember reading these books. They were amazing! So many good memories, and now I find out there's an animated series of it.
Thank you for uploading!
They were from 1980s
I love how Chinook, despite being somewhat of a bully to him in the first episode, is all happy to see Shade once he arrives in hibernaculcum :3
zeldalink1231 in sunwing the second book, he became shades brother after his parents were turned into bomb based off bombs secretly used in ww 2 I believe
theyre gay
Oh my. That cracked me up so high. Everything was going smoothly, until 3:38:43 the white grizzly bear caused the avalanche her self because SHE thought she saw an already coming avalanche.
She's not a grizzly bear. She's a black bear born with white fur. She isn't albino either, it's just her fur that's white.
I remember watching this when I was like six, back in 2003 staying up late just to watch it. XD I never knew there were books based off it until a couple years back! I think it's pretty awesome.
so did i it was on Toon Disney
:D Teletoon...
i'm so glad someone did this cause i just remember watching it when i was young to and man i'm glad i watched it. oh nostagia
***** hehe I know right?
The books came first. The show is based off the books.
Shade's dad and Zuko's mom are fucking teases
aLTHOUGH AT LEAST WE FOUND ONE
I love this show. Different from the books, but in a good way. I wish they would have continued the series.
eh probably for the best knowing what happened to Shade eventually
I really wish who made this would make a sequel based on the sequel to Silverwing: Sunwing. Does anybody agree with me? This was a great TV series! :D
I remember watching this show on TV when I was around 12 years old and really crushing on shade. Until today it was just a faint memory of 'a kids show with oddly handsome bats'
I certanly loved the series, plus it makes me extremely happy, that you did upload the full series and not the shortened "movie"
Bonus: it was uploaded at my birthday. Best gift ever :D
interestingly, in the books, it was said that Shade was in love with Marina and claimed her as his mate in "Sunwing"!
oMG, SHIPP
Well actually it was Marina who popped the question
i wish he got with chinook instead :(
I remember seeing glimpses of these episodes on TV as a little kid not knowing anything, and looking up split versions of the series here on UA-cam when I was a teenager before they got taken down by copyright strikes then doing research regarding the books by looking it up online.
Yep, those were the days.
Man i always loved this about the shows in the 90's. They are not afraid to admit mortality and that death exists. I men seriously if you had a character in todays cartoon media say that one day they will die or anollage that another person did die man haft of fucking america would get a hart attack!
I man seriously people kids these days need good strong lessons if we want them to grow into something we don't want to be ashamed of. But cartoons now a days will baby them into oblivion and when they come across hard times they will fucking fold.
I mean shit man the 90s spiderman, gargoyles, and hell even spawn were al awesome and need to be continued
Yea I know they won't put death and danger but they will always put offensive language and sexual innuedo. i would rather have death and danger over sex and bad language any day
Still, this is a pretty tamed version of the book...
There´s no Greywing massacre, Shade doesn´t eat a dead bat like in the book, and they really tamed Shade´s feelings torwards the owls... I mean, really freaking tamed it.
Would have loved to see that version on screen. Although that may have to go the rout of Spawn the animated series. But hey i watched that when my parents not home as a 13 year old kid and it ant mess me up
Jaden Harrod True. People exagerate about that sort of thing. I was watching war and action movies far before the recommended age and it never fucked me in the head...
I would´ve loved if the cartoon followed the book more closely, at least in those aspects. It was still a pretty good adaptation, I suppose. I just really disliked the whole hammering in in Shade´s head that ´´revenge isn´t the way´´. Though its a good lesson, it just feels akward and out of character in many moments.
I need to watch that Spawn Cartoon. I had never heard of it. I don´t think it was ever aired in my country.
Might have been it was never finished (I guess the defiler read the comics and didn't want to die) but you can find all three seasons on UA-cam pretty easily
❤ thank you for posting this
This show works like An American Tail, where the main character and his family just barely miss each other as they try to reunite.
I really missed this show
+emelie simone I love the way the wings and body are drawn like that
As a fan of old cartoons I sincerely thank you for doing this
I wish there had been a second season I wanted them to explore the relationship between marina and shade
Carlos Medina have you read the books?

THEY MUST CONTINUE SILVERWING
There was only this season for the first book, but there's two more in the trilogy "Sunwing" and "Firewing".
it's a shame they never continued this
I forgot about this cartoon but somehow I remember the final battle
Same here
OMG I loved this show as a kid I never saw the full movie of it thouge I loved the bats hair.
Then you think they should have clothes. But it's only a way to tell them apart
I love it when shade the bat when he runs a way from the big giant bat creature
silverwing, sunwing and redwing were the best books i have ever read, they are the only books i actually own and kept even through i hav read them^^ i highly recommend them, i could not put them down!!! redwings sad through:( there is also darkwing, which ive aslo read, it is about the bat evolution and about bat called dusk which is the first bat to fly, that's awesome too ,but the first books were best!
Man i remember watching this as a kid i liked this series very much
I loved the Silverwing series so much, that I wondered how good this would be. After I watched all of this, I had to admit that it was amazing!
That would be nice if they made more of these kind of movies😊
IT IS THE MOST EPIC SHOW IN THE ENTIRE FREAKING UNIVERSE!!!!!! THEY SHOULD DO SUNWING AND FIREWING AND KENNETH OPPEL SHOULD WRITE A SEQUEL AND THEN THERE SHOULD BE A SHOW FOR THAT. I SHALL DIE IF THAT DOES NOT HAPPEN.

I've read the book series at least three times, and I loved the TV series just as much. Also, Frieda reminds me of someone I know in real life. Lol.
A friend of mine introduced me to this show, and I just fell in love with it.
Ok Goth has a hella hot voice!! Love that Spanish accent.
i don't know you guys but this scream destroyed my lungs 3:16:07
I used to watch this (in norwegian lanuage) 15 years ago. LOVED IT. I did not remember it's name, but my older sister remebered it xD Can't find it in norwegian, so I guess I have to watch it in english instead.
This is brilliant! This reminds me of Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole.
I am a naughty bat XD
I am so going to watch this after my mid terms are up, im 24 but this was a show that I was robbed of when I was like 7 or 8. I remember wanting to watch every Saturday night but my dad kept making me go to some dumb religious event every Saturday (religious parents always steer their children away from religion tbh). Thank you for posting this!
They took a few liberties, short cuts, deviations and straight fabrications from the events of the book but the essence is there. A large part of the existential dread is missing. Surely dropped to be made more palatable to young viewers. I would wholeheartedly suggest reading the trilogy or even just the 1st Silverwing part first of course. A truly good read even for adults. 7 out of 10 for this adaptation.
I'm glad I managed to nab a copy of this series when Rogers Video was shutting down. I remembered seeing episodes here and there from it on TV, now I can watch the entire thing on DVD whenever I feel like doing so. ^_^
Nice to see how bats might interpret being banded.
Marinas face at 35:05 is like : you little bitch!
Thanks for uploading this dude! Me and my bro really enjoyed watching all of this and it personally brought back many fond memories for me. :D

The one thing that pissed me off the most is they left out the part when shade was saying no one cared for him and wanted to go to the jungle with goth and ate part of that brightwing in thw end of the book which goes to show the creators read like half pf the book.
Anyone eels really like this animation style? I mean it's nothing groundbreaking but it's really fun to watch
What a coincedence. I was recently thinking of this series. And now I got all the episodes to watch!
kick ass designs of the characters. love it.
Welp... I know how I'm gonna waste my day off work now.
Great show, surprised I'd never seen it before
XD omg i thought they were gonna say
"oh shit"
instead of
"oh Shade" XDDDD
.. ok how did those owls even get fire!??-
If I remember correctly they stole it from the humans. Probably got it from camp-fires etc. The owls kept the fire going in secret places around the forest to use it whenever they like.
damn
I have a soft spot for bats
This was awesome 😎 wish they did make a second season
Yes, "Sunwing" and "Firewing" would've been nice to see as shows.
They are respectively the second and third book in the Silverwing-trilogy.
BOOO YOU SUCK (im talking about the owls lolll)
@@nebelwanderer4974 do you mean that there is more of the series and didnt end up here?
@@أحمدالغافري-ذ1ه
There's a total of four books:
The original trilogy consists of "Silverwing", "Sunwing" and "Firewing", but there's also the prehistoric sequel/spin-off "Darkwing".
The only one of these that got a TV show is "Silverwing" and as far as I know it's only this one season.
But the books are good, I reccomend them.
@@nebelwanderer4974 thanks my friend
when i was a kid i never gotten a chance to watch this, they should have made a second season in search for his father that would be interesting.

Why do those owls sound like hawks? I thought cartoon owls said hoo
Where has this been hiding? Is there also a Warrior Cats animated project I don't know about? ...Anyway, I need popcorn now.
exactly what i thought
Heather Mitchell can someone tell me what warrior cats is? So many people on a game called animal jam talk about it.
Lisa S
Omg, yes, I can totally tell you about this awesome series called Warrior Cats. I am going to give a very general description (so there are no spoilers). A group of cats live in a forest and try to survive in their individual groups/(known as clans). The clans are- Shadowclan, Thunderclan, Windclan, and Riverclan.
There is also Starclan which is like cat heaven for the clans. So the other clans receive these things known as prophecies, which give them insight on the future of their clan.
I don't how much that helped, you can check Erin Hunter's website, Warrior Cats. :D
Heather Mitchell omg. yas. AND HOMEEESTUCCCK.
Man I miss this show
I read the book already so this is pretty cool
Why
did I not know this?!
I've read the books YEARS ago omg!
man right in the childhood!!!!! and i still love to this day!!!
they made a show of it? Shit I never knew that cool I can watch it remember how the story went XD
Woah! That's good stuff. That's what I thought when I read the book, but that's good stuff. I like the proportions for the bats. That was really cool. It kind of makes me think of Batman. Those shadow figures that Shade and Marina pulled off to spook the pigeons also reminded me of batman.
And you know what's so eerie? Throbb actually got chased away in the end of this show instead of getting struck by lightning like he did in the book. And Marinas band also was not taken off. I find that strange. I don't know if Throbb is going to come back or get killed by the owls. It's also a theory that maybe Goth will come back. It's cliché. It's just always the case where if you don't see the villain die in front of you, then you can always assume that the villain comes back, then POOF! The villain comes back in the next episode. It happens all the time. In the book Goth lived and Throbb died from a lightning strike. I do remember saying to myself that Goth would get electrocuted and it did happen, but not the way it happened in the book. As for Throbb. I also don't know if he will meet up with Goth. If so I wonder if Goth is going to pull a George Milton and kill him (as well as additionally eat him) because of how much of trouble he gets him in. I don't know what will happen, but I'm very excited to find out. Or maybe this is the only season. I sure hope not. I hope it is out there on the internet somewhere. Because I have read all three books and I am pumped.
And that owl prince. I don't remember if his name in the books was different, but they don't meet him until the next book. I think they will meet him in that trap place set by the humans. Then help him again.
As for what they may do next, I do remember Shade and Chinook getting miniature grenades attached to them and they are the only ones who get them off without exploding. Then Chinook saves Shade from a giant bug. I wonder if that's going to happen. I don't know but I am determined to find out.
I was also surprised that there was no blood, but this is a cartoon, and kids are bound to watch it so good on the animators. As for plot holes like the owls having moveable eyes, that is a very common plot hole. I have seen it in the Guardians of Ga'Hoole movie and video game. But I understand it makes them look more alive. Sometimes a plot hole is necessary to convince you to keep watching.
PS: I am used to putting the words plot and hole together. But autocorrect turns it into pothole which bugs me (damn you autocorrect).
Another thing I noticed was that Zots only had one head. I remember in the third book when he finally appeared he had three heads. But what I was absolutely astonished about was the fact that he looked 3D whereas the other characters did not. Shade's got talent. I know I should congratulate the people who made this show. But that is so amazing. I am super pumped to watch another season. Even if Goth and Throbb do die by the unlikely chance, I am still convinced that Shade's going to have to journey to find his father. I am also very excited about that. I am glad I watched these and I am super excited for more.
Now most movies where they are based off a book are ruined once they are changed (this can be forgiven when you listen to the music). And often the movie or show is changed so much it's hated. But this was awesome. Making a television series of a book allows it to be long enough that much doesn't need to be left out nor put in. Although most of the stuff but into a series in the movie or TV version is often awful to the point where you never get satisfied about it for the rest of your life. But the makers of this animated show nailed it. Such examples and reasons of bad movie versions are the Hobbit which was put into three long movies with so much terrible cheesy stuff put in that I did not want to listen to at all. My father himself is disappointed by those movies because he read the book and did not remember all that bad stuff happening. And that book is very short, so I understand his anger. But put that aside this still got me right there in the soft spot. I think the people involved in the making of this aught to give themselves a pat on the back. I am so thankful I came across this when I was searching Heroes Wiki and found Shade there in a cartoon drawing I did not recognize. I thought it was going to suck, but I found out I was wrong from the moment I saw Shade chasing that tiger moth and Chinook caught it before he did. And on top of everything else that went on in the beginning I thought it was going to be just like the book. Then what do you know? Something unexpected happens. That was amazing. I love this show. In the beginning of The Guardians of Ga'Hoole movie which was retitled Legend of the Guardians the Owls of Ga'Hoole I was so disappointed from the start despite how excited I was before seeing it because you don't get to see Eglantine hatch. I was annoyed and I decided to consider Movies and TV remakes inferior to books, but this is one of very few exceptions.
But that cliffhanger at the end of the final episode just about killed me. I really do hope there is a second season. Because I am eager to see more and hopefully see what Shades father looked like.
There were some tender moments, but nothing shocking yet. I don't know what they have in store, but overall I loved this show. the animation style, the proportions, some of the parts were actually more satisfying, easier, even realistic than what happened in the book. I loved that. This doesn't mean I love the show better than the books because I love them both. I especially love how unexpected this show is. Most movies like Free Willy, and the James Bond series' are so predictable because it has the same cheesy predicable ending which makes me say "They blew it", or "Boooooring" in disgust. But this was unbelievable. I enjoyed it for how unpredictable each and every second was. Even when I was right about one thing I wasn't completely right. I only got some things right. In a game where the show would try to give me something as unpredictable as possible and I had to predict what it was. I got a few small hits, but this show mopped the floor with me and I'm glad it did. There may be a few unanswered questions, but I don't care. I loved this so much I could cry and tell myself I was wrong for hours.
I also see a lot of change in Shade where he starts out pretty brave, yet reckless, and judgemental. Then he changes to someone who is more of a fighter, even more brave, smarter, and also undistracted to the point where they make a good leader yet refuse to take charge until the most critical moments. This is also a cliché for most characters. Once they are a total zero and a puffed up pretty boy, then they become very manly once disaster strikes or they develop very slowly over time and help. This happens for the Prince of Persia, Ezio Auditore, even Cynder who becomes far from passive in Dawn of the Dragon despite how much of a damsel in distress she is in a New Beginning and the Eternal Night (sorry if that doesn't relate to the others specifically), as well as a few others here and there. Shade became very manly at the end of this show. He may have even gotten bigger just like Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist did (who is even more sensitive about his size than Shade is even at the end). In the beginning of the anime Edward was really short as he doesn't like to admit, then in the end he's taller than Winry. I really enjoyed this show so much I want to watch more. I know I'm repeating myself on that notion, but to celebrate how amazing this was I am going to watch this again. And this time show it to my siblings. I'm sure they will love it too because this is not only an awesome TV show, but the best TV I have ever witnessed.
I should stop rambling now. That comes with being a determined writer. I'm out of here so you don't have to read more of my rambling all day and night.
