After reading the novel and then watching this (at 2x speed which is still coherent enough to understand) I noticed there were quite a few deviations from the story vs. the 2023 graphic novel like animals getting involved in the war and the fact that the villain's not wearing all the bands from the dead bats.

Why does this end? What happened to the characters after the war?

I remember watching this show on TV when I was around 12 years old and really crushing on shade. Until today it was just a faint memory of 'a kids show with oddly handsome bats'
