    Beautiful machine and concept.... so wonderful to see it become a reality. Best part of this video for me ( besides "👋Happy PantorRouting") was "If you prefer to work in millimeters..." YES! I do. It was top of mind for me from the start...a sinking fear metric wasn't supported. It's a superior system so I'm glad to see that it is.

      Thanks David. We prefer metric as well. It's so much easier to add, subtract and divide to get center using whole numbers.

    Great video! I got my Pantorouter last month and you shipped it with a letter explaining I'd get the new dovetail template. This video really helps me understand how it works and how to use it! Thank you so much for both the great customer service in sending me the newest dovetail template as well as this video!

    Mac, general praise. I hope you're making a ton of money on this because you have done such an excellent job setting up this business and marketing it. Congratulations! And I LOVE my pantorouter! BTW, for anybody thinking about this, by the all-in package. I piece-mealed it, thinking I would get in too deep at first, in case I didn't use it. I wish I had gotten everything in the first place.

      Thank you Murray! As you can imagine, creating all of the molds and tooling for the PantoRouter has been unbelievably expensive, but we're done now and have a beautifully made machine so perhaps over time the ROI will be realized.
      Thanks for your advice on the Pro-Pack. You're right that most who purchase the basic package come back for the rest of the goodies we offer to make the PantoRouter even more functional and fun.
      Happy PantoRouting!

      Too bad you stole the idea from @Matthias Wandel

      @@craighansen3031 Matthias Wandel is a genius but he did chose to make his Idea public domain without caveat.

      @@craighansen3031 He asked the pantorouter company not to send him royalties but send a machine instead once the royalties added up enough for a machine. He talks about it in this video.

    Mac, what bit did you use to complement the large dovetail bit. And can you do a boxjoint setup where you do the sides as well as the top and bottom. thanks Jim

      We used the ¼” straight bit for the pins. We could also have used the ⅜” bit with the 6mm guide bearing.
      Stay tuned for variably spaced box joints!

    One hint: Flip the template over so you can test fit long boards as they will point upward away from the table.

      You're right, it does work, though it's just a little awkward cutting up instead of down. The router doesn't care but I found it just a little odd feeling; probably just me. Good suggestion though!

    Hi there… Question for you… I’ve followed your video… as far as I can tell step for step… I’m guessing I’ve messed something up… in the case of tails… do you spin the board around.. so the same face is still facing down? as that has to happen with the pins… I’m not getting perfect alignment of the boards...

    • @macsheldon
      @macsheldon  Рік тому

      For the tails boards, we flip them end-for-end as they should be exactly the same. For the pins, you must spin the board.
      Using dovetails on all four corners requires very careful attention to centering and aligning the pins on both edges of the board. Scribe a center line on the board to align to the table and use the centering jig (points on both ends) to confirm it's all perfect.
      We just published a tech tip to help you align the pins on the edges of the workpiece and if you're well centered all of the dovetails should line-up correctly.
      Please reach out if you still have difficulty and we'll hop on a video call with you to help make your dovetails perfect.
      Thanks!
      Mac

    1) What is the maximum thickness that can be dovetailed with your jigs?
    2) What are the bearing surfaces at the pivot points on the Pantorouter?

    • @macsheldon
      @macsheldon  3 роки тому

      Thanks for asking about the PantoRouter™
      The maximum thickness we've cut is about 1.25"
      The bearing surfaces are sintered brass or ball bearings, and due to their extremely low torque and pressure should last many lifetimes.
