bubby, watching you cut throught those first few cuts was so fun to watch. I've wanted my own mill for a good 7 years since I moved back home on the farm, and watching the joy from having that sob up and running has convinced me that it's time to pull the trigger. honey, it's not that I want one, it's that we need one lol
Skipped over the Woodmizer and bought a Timber King because the only models offered by Woodmizer at that time were cantilevered and had NO stability on the side opposite the motor. Now they have improved the design to a two-post system but you cannot beat a 4-post!
Lot of negative comments here. Sure, they slabbed off a little heavy and wasted some lumber. But they're new and they're learning. And, they're having a ball. God bless 'em and keep on sawing. BTW, 25 year Woodmizer veteran.
Yes a lot of Haters on this Video , This was our first time running the machine , We are very good at it now and have cut numerous board feet of lumber for all our project needs , Thanks for this reply.
As they say the only difference between the men and the boys is the price of thier toys. case and point this gentleman with the lt15 on the ground sawmill. he chose not to get the.trailering package that raises the machine up to roughly waist level. on the ground your roll up a log a very short ramp. with the trailer package you have to roll your log up the ramps to the log deck or do something else. sometimes you want to have it low. and sometimes waist height is the cats meow. some times with an lt15 it can be a manual crank some like it with automatic powered feed differ purchase costs and features. i am a tad older and bought a brand factory pickup lt 40 manual (non hydraulic cantileavered head my wood mizer is was purchased 33 years ago at a cost of about 10 grand. there have been continuous improvements.....
A kid with his new toy is the best that I can say for this video. Suggestion, Go to the nearest Wood-Mizer dealer and have them teach you the basics of sawmilling before you either break a bone or injure your spine. You may even learn how to make appropriate cuts to save lumber and find out what a cant hook is.
i find it alot easier to use a 2 ft cant hook to turn the logs and cants. How you like this machine? we have the normal 15 and the 40 hydralic and love them both
Thanks, I was having Issue's that day with the Internet and did not realize that I put it in twice , That is why it went in back to back Sorry about that.
This was painful to watch. Every time you made a cut you threw away a two by ten. It seemed like you threw out about a third of the log. Or does the camera show things differently? All the best..
Anthony Wernette. Well, if a board foot of lumber sells for much more than a few pieces of firewood, I would tend to rethink the economics of that statement.
You can contact Woodmizer in Rocklin, CA at 530-633-4316 , If you want a Reference you can use my Brothers name Ernie Nelson as he bought his for around $8,866.00 last May 2014.
That was painful to watch. I would never own one of these without getting the full hydraulic turner and clamps. Also I know its been beat to death, but you just wasted 4 boards on that first log.
Why did you throw away two boards in each of the 4 slabs? That is a waste of several board feet of lumber -- 32 to 45 ft -- $12 to $18. That is a lot of money for an 8 foot short log, very inefficient! 20 to 25 logs per day equals $240 to $450!!!!!!! One 4 day week equals $960 to $1800 waste!!!!!! If it's shorter than my 8ft estimate, and it might be, divide my dollar amounts by 8 and multiply by the correct length, still a LOT of money! Please, carefully calculate this dollar amount you've discarded. If you burn it for firewood, that is 5 to 8 times what a comparable trailer size of firewood would cost!!!!! I know there is a learning curve for the new mill, good luck! Thanks for the video. ....13 P.s.: I've been around sawmills/woodworking/construction for 4+ decades, "this is not my first rodeo!"
The guy running the mill is one happy camper. Gotta love it.

Same kind of video Im going to make when mine arrives lol He's one happy sawmill owner!
Like a kid in a candy shop. Power feed was set too fast based on the groves in the first slab, Nice machine to have for bigger slabs.

Радуются как дети.
awesome, but what do you do when it rains? how the heck do you MOVE that behemoth?
Does it have power feed? And how long does the blades last y'all? I'm looking buying one this summer.
looks like you could use a Cant hook :)

+fishproet I love my lt15 wide , I have the 10 horse electric and a 4 foot cant hook + a bucket tractor :)
how is saw moving atomatically
Nice video......how do you like the machine so far?
Love the machine we are a lot better at it now , would truly recommend one
That's a awesome saw mill. Why did you play the video 2 different times?
Thanks, I was having Issue's that day with the Internet and did not realize that I put it in twice , That is why it went in back to back Sorry about that.
No worries man
I hope by now you got a CANT HOOK.
why buy a wide version if all your logs are little???
What well it cost to geot it to Idah
gotta get yourself a peavey :)

All the best..
+Edgar Milson when I cut off the slab wood I use it in the wood stove to heat the house , no waste :)
Edgar Milson--very painful! A lot of money wasted!
Well he will certainly be getting less board feet of lumber going by any of the log scale rulers.
Anthony Wernette. Well, if a board foot of lumber sells for much more than a few pieces of firewood, I would tend to rethink the economics of that statement.
How can I get one and how much .$$$$$$$$

It is a nice machine but it is just a little more than I want to spend.. I have found another for abour half that.
Yes this machine works awesome , Thanks for the reply.
There are not many bandsaw mills that will cut a 36" wide slab at this price point, or even 2 or 3 times this price.
Looks good guys...but I think you running that blade a little too fast. Need to go about half that speed
