Man, this was one of my favorite games back on the Gamecube. Can't wait to see it mercilessly dissected! I'm sure much like many games I enjoyed in the past, it will fall apart horribly.
I remember the parts with horrible english voice acting lol. The game itself is still a work of masterfull art tho, both story and visually. Really loved that game despite being horrible at it.
Just received the remaster, immediately feel the difference in the song of the voice and some sentences, made me want to re listen to the original, feel like the original is better, but maybe way too nostalgic (didn't even actually began the game, just the intro Edit: seems the intro of the Japanese version was in English too, and the European (and maybe American) version was re enregistred with new voice... the intro of the remastered version is the same as the intro of the japanese version of the gamecube ... don't know if you understand me but yeah ... I lived with a big lie all my life...
@@jaxxh6529 you missed my point, in the original's Japanese version, the intro was already in English Though I agree a possibility to change the language of the dubbing could have been cool
wow i didnt knew that. same language? as then 2005? because baten kaitos 1 was there released when i got link to the past on the game boy advance in 2003 heck, even star ocean 3 was then released there.
Yep, got me wondering if my memory was changing things!! They did re-dub it for the English version with the voices they used. As corny as it was, really hope they'll be convinced to add the old english lines via an update, the nostalgia is strong!!!
yeah, felt exactly the same, don't like the "other" english version they have put on the Remastered version, I do prefer this one by far (the GameCube version). Besides, I don't know if anybody noticed it, but on the Switch version of Baten Kaitos Origins, the sound volume of the intro is oddly too low...and I have also noticed some glitches and bugs after only few hours of playing.... Kinda dissapointed, noticing such things on a remastered version supposed to be improved
@@RetroDeath and it wasn’t bad! But it’s funny for example, the evil emperor. In the intro he laughs and screams like mad, but in game is all but that 😅

Dude this game is a piece of art and a bunch of plot twist
in the switch version (witch is for the rest of the game in japanese hope they will patch it) he says instead of kill him, finish him.

This takes me back to my early college days. Game had its fair share of flaws but man I had fun with it.
Its funny how the intro had so energetic and dramatic voice acting, yet the scenes in game were all devoided of energy or action :P
People always hate on the voice acting, but to me, that gave the game its very unique vibe, the voice acting felt very operatic.

@@roldeminf8014 I always hated how he didn't say the End Magnus line in the actual game, haha!
@@RetroDeath the American version had bad voice acting, the British/pal version is much better
Oh... oh no. I love this game and all but it completely broke me around things I do in other rpgs.
I'm definitely watching this
What a game

Is it time? The next project?!
Hope all is well for you and your comrades in all this Covid turmoil.
Esp3ctacular 👌
Is there gonna be a thread for this? given all the SA forums "stuff" going on? or will you move it to LPzone?

HBO searching for ideas like…
Trailer 2004 had better voice acting I think
I prefer the English because the japan voices sound lacking
Amazing game ... but did they remaster this? =/ wish they'd stop doing that ... and actually come up with new, fresh games. =/
Well, baten kaitos origins is very rare and expensive on the aftermarket, so I think it's good that they remastered it
