This is a 10 part series that will drop every Sunday from now until the end of August. The Banff Springs, Chateau Lake Louise, Palliser Hotel (Calgary), Hotel Vancouver, Fort Garry Hotel (Winnipeg), The Royal York (Toronto), Bessborough (Saskatoon), Hotel Macdonald (Edmonton), Jasper Park Lodge and taking the train across Canada. I hope you love my biggest film project to date!
So much a great beverage! Thanks for watching Mary. If you liked this one you will love the rest of the series at the other railway hotels :) excited to hear what you think
Thank you for the kind words man. 1st episode had to be a little indepth so the next few will be slightly shorter but I hope you love all 10 episodes this summer :)
Wow bro this is amazing! I was excited for this series but wasn’t expecting you to go so in depth, what a great history lesson!!! I think you’ve found your calling for post hockey brother Great job Trav
Travis, thank for pointing me to this video, to start your hotel series. I particularly enjoyed the scene showing the Canadian Pacific store inside the hotel. I love those types of places, filled with wonderful railway items representing CP's golden age of travel.
Thanks for these great videos and yes both Banff and lake Louise have outstanding hotels and views. My only memory of being on a train, was from Thompson, MB, 14 hour overnighter to Churchill, in 1987. I rented a roomette, and I recall them stopping for any worker that stood by the rails, along the way. It also had to back into the depot at both Churchill and Thompson. All in all quite a memorable ride. My parents had taken the train when I was one, and family from Comox, B.C, when dad was in the air force, all the way to Moosonee, Ontario. But no memory from that long ride. But yes very enjoyable videos from all these great historic CP, and CN hotels.
I think I may have do that thompson hudson bay train one day, that sounds like a great trip! Thanks for making your way through the series. Do you have a favourite episode so far?
@@trav4oilers well I do have a soft spot for little Saskatoon, and the area of the bessborough, those years I spent in Saskatoon, were really my most enjoyable in my teen years. But all of your videos are indeed a pleasure, and the one only I haven’t been inside is the fort Garry hotel, in Winnipeg, I do remember driving by it in 1987, on my weekend visit there from old Thompson,MB. I had a great year in Thompson, with meeting great friends. Even though very isolated, I enjoyed my many trips cross country skiing, and visiting the pisew falls, south of town. Absolutely great provincial park, with much wildlife.
I live in Alberta and live only 4 hours away. We've stayed at the Castle numerous times and have eaten there on even more occasions. I have never had a bad stay and have never had a bad meal. The service (whether you're staying in a room or having a meal) is outstanding!!! The only negative is the resort fee and the cost to park, both of which are ridiculous!!!!
@@AlannaLarsen-c3o I couldn’t agree more. Those hidden fees def sneak up on you. Thanks again for watching man and I hope you enjoy the rest of my series :)
she does them at every hotel. I think it started with her just excited for the stay and turned into a tradition every time we visit a new spot. I'm lucky to have a quality woman by my side for each trip. Thanks for watching :)
I'd suggest telling her to wait and see all 9 other episodes before she picks one. They're all great for different reasons, and different price points.
Banffsprings! Stayed there many times. A family favourite. There is so much to see in and out of the castle. Unsurpassed service and every restaurant was amazing. Every inch of that building is awe inspiring. Was that the SS Stinson suite you were in? They may have changed the name since. Named after the Vice President of CNR I believe. We were upgraded without being told. The desk was being coy about what room we would be in which is unusual of course saying “You’ll just have to find it!” We usually stayed in the tower with the peasants. When we found it we were shocked. Up in the attic facing the Bow river, we could see the falls from our bedroom and had windows all down the long room. So many stories we could tell. The Christmas dinners, breakfast buffets, the welcome reception party after checking in, kids story time. Everything was so well thought out.
Hey Trav I m from Croatia :)) I like your videos very much... I am an ex hockey goalie... I was in Red Bull Salzburg youth academy but never made it to the pros.... Your videos are really relaxing to me and I enjoy it very much to watching them... Especially from Vancouver 😊😊😊 just keep going and enjoy it ;)))
@@trav4oilers I'd say the Banff episode just because of the location being absolutely stunning, lake Louise being a close second. I tried to hike Mt.Robson 20 years ago and failed to make the glacier. This series is making me want to try again.
@@undefindduck5109 hey hey! Glad you picked up on that. It’s also a restaurant at the hotel Vancouver. Hope you check out the rest of the series. All the best to you
