As somebody who has been to Queenstown aboard Air NZ A320 and ATR72, I can confirm it's a really scenic flight. On approach aircraft goes down through the valleys between the mountains and you are remarkably close to the mountains at times. On takeoff, Aircraft goes over Lake Wakatipu, turns to the left, and does a wide spiral above the mountains. The airport has a medium size terminal with the usual assortment of shops and restaurants.
I had the chance to fly off of that airport a few years ago (Queenstown to Auckland). I never landed there, but boy, you can just sit back and enjoy the view while taking off. You're just flying directly over the beautiful lake and the huge magnificent mountains, it's so brilliant.
It’s Queens Town ( that’s how you pronounce it). The reason why there is high traffic is because of the many outdoor adventures available. Bungie Jumping was invented here. Also the Shotover - a very high speed jet boat ride around the narrow corridors of the river. And it’s a nice place. The mountains on the LHS of the lake are called: The Remarkables. Furthermore, it’s a very high value wine region, perfect for Pinot Noir. Skiing is nearby, at Coronet Peak.
Swiss meant that if you dig a tunnel from Spain/ Portugal (Iberia) you’ll end up in New Zealand ( more specified location) I’ve been to Queenstown. It’s a really nice place.

Yo you actually did my video idea!! Firstly it is pronounced Queenstown not Queenstin, you never vacate on the little taxi way, that's only for GA aircraft and it is amazing to fly into!!
Try out Caloundra Airport north of Brisbane in Australia, or Autitaki, north of NZ or Sunshine Coast Regional, also north of Brisbane, also, Sunshine coasts now have a fully operational new runway for 777, but try out the one that the game has, that fits A320, and 737
You should check out Floyd Bennett Field, it’s an airfield in Brooklyn that used to be a naval air station. Now the airfield is mostly used as a helicopter base for the nypd
Swiss001 just a suggestion you should try and land at the Rottnest Island runway near perth, Western Australia, It is quite intresting when I flown there in real life as the runway is quite short (ok maybe not but the shortest i have been on in real life). If you make a video about this then it would make my day :D
At school I bet swiss001 would be like Teacher: you’ve got 15 out of the 20 answers wrong Swiss001: but that’s another story Ps: I’m not saying that u where bad at school
Only GA flights use the taxiways bc they are to small to handle them A320s and B737 when they are in operation at the airport use one taxiway and backtrack teh runway
Haha I have flown in an A320 into this airport. Really beautiful scenery all around. Never looked scary. Now the drive from Queenstown to Glenorchy on the other hand...
When Swiss001 is the pilot, all approaches are the most dangerous
lol

I’ve been to Queenstown airport, and it’s pretty cool, also Queenstown is pronounced QueensTOWN, you say it like the word town
yeah, pretty beautiful approach, and kinda cool flying in a large-ish jet with mountains above you 😄 not something you see every day
I live just out of Queenstown and its pronounced Queens-town pretty easy to pronounce

Queenstown has the most awesome scenery on the approach!
Queenstowner here, it's a decent airport to land although quite turbulent. Quite scenic as well from both sides.
FINALLY!! NEW ZEALAND! I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!!!
Im happy too :)
Swiss meant that if you dig a tunnel from Spain/ Portugal (Iberia) you’ll end up in New Zealand ( more specified location)
I’ve been to Queenstown. It’s a really nice place.
Gotta say, flying to Queenstown during winter is the best time to get some best scenic pictures.
Flew into Queenstown a few days ago with snow on the approach. Beautiful.
Me: which is the most dangerous airport?
Swiss001: all, *ALL OF THEM*
I've been to Queenstown, drove from Christchurch so only experienced the departure on a Qantas 737 but it is still an amazing view.

Swiss001's favorite phrase:
Thats another story
Swiss001's every video is has the 'most dangerous approach.'
Swiss001 is on a 767 welcome aboard the 737 again
8:16
When Swiss is the pilot, everything is most dangerous.
lol
Swiss001: sees a short runway
Also Swiss001: Now lets land an a380 **safely**
Hey I been to that dangerous airport before
cool
Please try and fly at CRW. Charleston WV. A C-130 ran off the runway once. Both side of the runway have steep falls. And on a mountain.

Swiss001: Welcome to the 737 again
767: Am I a Joke To YOU?????
Hey Swiss001 You should do a video about Air Zimbabwe, They still operate Boeing 737-200s (Outside of Canada)
Actual approach is stunning we had a rental home under the final and it was deadass out of a calendar photo shoot
Swiss001: We only care about stopping safely, we don't need the smoothest butter landing
There’s actually 737 and a320 flying out of queens town airport because I fly out of there one time in 2019 and tok a a320

My local airport (CYYJ) has a roughly 7000 ft runway and has landed 767/a330s
Even had a 747 in the 80s before the extension

@@siobhancrowley5195 but they dont operate 767 to Aitutaki, they used to fly them to Raro but not anymore. I flew to Rarotonga on a A320.
