Wow, this message came at the perfect time. Not long ago, while I was praying, God told me that this is a season for me to be still and silent. I need to stop discussing my problems with my friends, limit my availability to certain people, and focus on sitting quietly to seek the voice of Jesus Christ. I really needed this message and will be getting the book right away.
Fasting is so powerful, and not talked about enough. I did The Daniel Fast. I did everything except give up my wine drinking. I gave up extraneous shopping, bread, butter, and cheese to make up for it. Anyhow, The Daniel Fast, you give up 1). meat, 2), choice food (most restaurant food, or fancy meals), and wine for 21 days. Fast forward to day 18. I sat down with a glass of wine. I knew I was drinking too much on a regular basis, but could never give it up... unthinkable. Well, on day 18, I sipped my wine, and thought "Man this stuff tastes awful!" I then thought "Maybe I should give it up, can I give it up?" "Lord, can I give it up? I felt the Lord move my heart, and gently, but firmly say "Let go." I got up, and dumped my glass, and the whole bottle out. I felt this weight lift off of me. I didn't have to struggle. I was so steeped in wine culture. I had 10 fancy wine decanters, fancy implements (foil cutters, cork screws, bottle stoppers). I was practically a sommelier...I knew a lot about wine. God just lifted all that off of me. That was July 24, 2022, and I haven't had a glass of alcoholic wine since. Sometimes I start to think about what is was about wine that brought me joy, and then remind myself that the Lord Jesus gave me grace, and a life free of it, so don't dwell on it. I wasn't freed on my own. And it all stemmed from fasting. May anyone who took the time to read this be blessed. (I went from drinking 8 - 10 glasses a week, to now not drinking anything at all!)
@@chatswithmichelle I do regular fasting (no food...just black coffee, teas, water, and electrolytes...no sugar) usually 24 hours every Thursday. I call it weekly dedication to the Lord...usually the main thing I'm fasting for is the salvation of my family. I occasionally full fast longer. I did a 3 day fast a couple of weeks ago so my nephew would get accepted into physician's assistant school. For those that don't know, PA school is a lot harder to get into than medical school because there are very few schools that offer it. There are maybe 200 applicants and maybe 20 slots open. And practically every applicant has been gunning to get in their entire college career... excellent grades, recommendations, hours and hours of hospital work experience, etc...There is just no accounting for who gets in. WELL, my sister and I were fasting and praying hard! I full fasted for 3 days before his interviews and also gave up coffee and tea. I am happy to report that HE GOT IN(!), and feel it is in no small to fervent prayer and fasting!! So, fasting is not talked a lot in church (I knew nothing about it growing up in church... something they did in Biblical times). I know Jentezen Franklin wrote a great book on fasting that first introduced me to the Daniel Fast. If anyone is interested in trying fasting, it is a good place to start! Anyhow, thanks for the video and have a blessed day! Incidentally, I just started a 3 day fast for our country. You're not really supposed to discuss you're fasting (between you and God), but I talk about it to let people know about fasting in general. Take care! 😊
This was not a coincidence. Im currently fasting, and I just came across that book earlier this week! My mind has also been over the place, so I beleive God is telling me to be still. Pls pray for me. Thank you for sharing.
Not taking anything away from a 12hr fast, I believe everyone has to start from somewhere, but ultimately I believe that you truly you start to feel the effects of a fast on the 5th day of a water fast, I think once you've built your tolerance up, you should strive to do a 7 day water in a peacefu environment or if possible in nature, while grounding, barefoot on the grass or soil, in fresh air out in the sun, and i think once you've accomplished that, you should strive to do even longer fasts. The end game for eating a alkaline plant-based diet and fasting is to ultimately achieve a state of Christ consciousness.

Thanks for the suggestion!
