      @@kaayzilla I really wonder how cold Taipei could be in January. Hope you'll also make a content about winter in Taipei, because as living in a tropical country with a tropical climate, I am wondering.

    • @kaayzilla
      @kaayzilla  6 місяців тому +1

      I think it will depend on the year (because of climate change 😭😭) but Will said it's generally 10-20 degrees around that time! So you'll still need a jacket for nighttime and colder days.

    Hey, there! Thank you for such an amazing video. I’m going to Taiwan next month. Do you guys know any local hidden gems on halal food that aren’t already on Google maps? Seems pretty limited 😢

    • @kaayzilla
      @kaayzilla  7 місяців тому

      Thanks for watching! Did you search Google maps with English or Chinese? Will says to try using this phrase, "halal food near me" when in Taiwan - "附近清真餐廳". I wish I am able to help more but we didnt see any halal options when we were there.

    Great video. I’m bringing my family of 2 adults and 2 kids (4 and 7 years old) to Taipei and is considering to stay in jiufen. I want to experience staying in the old street itself. Any recommendation on which homestay to look at? Or any platform I should be checking out for my options? We’ll be going in Dec later this year.

    • @kaayzilla
      @kaayzilla  6 місяців тому

      Ahh Jiufen! I wish I had a chance to see the old street. Apparently Spirited Away, the movie is inspired by Juifen. I'm not sure about accommodations in the area but I booked a lot of things in Asia on klook. They offer deals, tours, and hotels that I didn't see on other sites. I also have a 5% off code if you'd like a discount!(Code: KAAYZILLA) I also think kkday is worth a shot since it's a Taiwanese company! Only thing is, I didn't book anything on this site personally. I hope this helps ✨

      Uber is amazing in Taiwan! I think it's the fastest and most convenient way to get around since you don't have to book ahead of time (in case your flight is delayed). I would suggest heading to ximending (40-45min drive) and trying all the street food and exploring. The area is also great for buying souvenirs. I have a vlog just on all the food we ate in ximending including the food names in Chinese so it'll be easy to show the vendors what you want: ua-cam.com/video/36JG9WIoUuk/v-deo.html

Pick us up from airport and we can travel together using public transport for 5 hours showing us food shopping ect ? I can pay them. The private tours charge way to much.
      Kind regards.

    • @kaayzilla
      @kaayzilla  7 місяців тому +3

      I think it depends on how much research you do on the transit/transportation system, food, and places. Like if you're willing to take uber (which is not expensive compared to Canada) or MRT over buses it won't be difficult (buses are kinda the hardest part). Google maps is pretty accurate and a lot of places have english names that are easy to search, and you can use the google translate photo feature to translate menus at the super local shops. Most chain restaurants and chain bubble tea places have english on the menu. It would still be great if you learned how to say a few Chinese survival phrases to order food or if you're lost/in an emergency. Taiwan really does have some of the friendliest people who are great at speaking English so imo if asking someone for directions is your last resort, at least most people will be nice and try their hardest to help you!
