Mark, it's unusual seeing you behind the wheel of a car. Re noisy roof rack, I recently sold our Volvo XC90, during the test drive the interested buyer mentioned the chirping bird, I told him no, that's the roof rack, the 'bird' quietens down above 80kph. :)
There is a code on the hitch to know which key to use. I searched on Etsy for a replacement key. There is a shop that makes the correct key based on the key code. It costs about $10 +shipping from Australia. www.etsy.com/shop/KeyKing

Was the trailer hitch key a master key? My LR3 didn't come with the hitch key and I sure would like to remove it...
