@@Khaleesi_Of_Kittens and they never tip 🙃
@@SpiritWarubouJust for dealing with that shit, I would tip you a _shit-load_ of money. :3.
When I worked at a certain Yard’ hotel a guest, 2 people would order a crazy amount of linens we’re talking: 8 bath towels,12 wash clothes, 6 shower Mats, 22 hand towels, 4 of each pillow, 1 quilt. Then he complained how long it took and we did not have the pillow he wanted.
This is a fact: Any time money changes hands, many people feel they are fully free to degrade someone else. They've spent so much of their lives feeling like little nothings, like nobodies, that they see the exchange of money as an opportunity to somehow elevate themselves socially by demeaning others. And you're not a bigshot in MY world, even if your bloated fantasies make you Queen of the Nile in your own.
Most of these are totally understandable but the one who gets angry if guests don't say please or thank you, you're not doing them a favour, you're getting paid for it. I've worked in customer-facing roles and while it doesn't cost anything to be polite (and you're likely to get better service if you ARE asking for something more than you're entitled to) it's pretty entitled for an employee to expect it. Equally I really don't think "do you speak English?" is an offensive way to start the conversation, if the guest isn't sure whether you do. It's not the guest's fault if you feel like you're not getting paid enough, that's not an excuse to give them poor service or expect generous tips for doing the basics of your role.
Also if you run a hotel and you list it on a third-party booking site, it's at least partly your responsibility to know what that website is promising to people who book a room. If it's showing them photos of your best room but you're going to give them your worst, you should be expecting the complaints. Just because you use a third-party service to increase bookings, it doesn't absolve you of owing those customers a decent level of service. "OTAs lie" isn't good enough. Take some responsibility. Do better.
As someone who works retail sales, I can concer. "Please and thank you" are nice to hear, and we are absolutely more likely to go the extra mile for polite customers, we are paid to be here, you aren't asking a personal favor of us.
That being said, when I call up a distributor and they act like my request of " Can we order an item you sell, at the price you advertise?" Is a huge personal imposition, I will be pissed off about it.
As former breakfast attendant no I can’t customize your jimmy dean sandwiches
12:04 Totally agree, sports teams have been the worst. housekeeper for 11 years now
10:13 My basin don't jiggle jiggle, it holds.
1) pets. They never clean up after them and leave me with fur blankets all over the room (and knowing housekeeping doesn’t get the pet fee doesn’t help)
2) do not knock on your friend’s door and say “housekeepiiiiing~” in that dumb Hispanic voice. It’s not funny, it’s never been funny
Haha wow that guy in one ofnnthe last stories in this video
So many people think they can check in immediately after midnight when the date shifts because it is the next day and their arrival date. No the rooms still have people sleeping in them they don't magically disappear and the rooms get cleaned at the stroke of midnight so you can check in. They also think making a reservation for immediate check in after midnight means they are getting the entire day as in they check out the next day. No it is still night of the previous day if you want a hotel room at 1 am you are getting a reservation set for the previous day and check out is in 10 hours.
Barging in at midnight trying to get the exact room? Id be grateful to get ANY room at midnight!
