Yes, what SirDerpinton said, looking at other people's art that you like can be a good source of inspiration, from the artstyle to the character or colors. Or you can try drawing things from real life in you own style aswel. Oorr, from movies or games you like... Anything is practice really.

I know I am a year late, but I have to applaud all of your tutorials. I am trying to learn how to draw, and noone has been able to explain it so quickly with so much detail. Before I watched your videos, I have never been able to draw a face, and after I seen it, the face became something I liked about drawing. Same with the hands, those are the hardest for me, and I am still struggling, but when you showed the difference in experience, that gave me motivation to try and paint them more

At first I was really hesitant to draw realistic faces cause I thought it would mean that I’m throwing my want to drawing anime style. But drawing realistic faces isn’t so bad and is kind of fun
3 years later, this video helped me fix a problem I had with drawing from top down or down up. Funny I do 3D modeling a ton, but when drawing my brain was thinking too much in 2D. Thanks from 3 years in the future.
