@Street Speed 717 - Bushwacker Fender Flares!!!!! I highly recommend the pocket style flares, they stick out 6.75 inches, there are larger ones available as well. I installed these on my truck to make sure I'm legal, and they look awesome. It helps keep the truck a lot cleaner as well. When I first purchased my truck with a 2" offset and standard flares, hitting a puddle would usually spew water up the sides of the truck which is no big deal however I also have the AVS vent visors above all windows which would then catch the water and launch it through my open window and right in my face. It was a lot of water, I'd say close to 1 liter of water "with force". After getting these flares I can power through lake sized puddles with the widows open - No Problems now! Bushwacker flares are a little more expensive than many others on the market, but they are MUCH more durable, and designed not to crack in cold weather climates. Available at www.bushwacker.com/ and no I don't work for them. :)
EDIT: Your truck looks and sounds awesome! I think if you added the above mentioned flares and AVS vent visors above the windows it would really add to the beefiness! :)

Street speed 717. the best undercoat you can get is Fluid-Film Bud. The stuff literally stops the rust! and if you use it it will eventually dissolve all the rust off the frame and make it look new again

The 252 north eastern nc are is an awsome are to live. This being said the diesel lifestyle is definatley huge in this area. We are close enough to several truck shows and race meets. North Carolina if you want to keep a modified vehicle or even plan on modding anything in the future. Its not impossible to mod in CA but much more difficult and youd be going back stock with the dmax.

move to virginia. gun friendly laws, people are super nice, great weather and it doesent really snow that much here, just usually one huge snow storm that lasts a week or so every winter. NC is also great. If you want to move to NC i highly reccomend the raleigh durham triangle area. raleigh durham NC has a huge car culture and lots of people like to mod their cars/trucks. the car meets are sick too

Southern California LA gets cold but only 30* during the winter and the summer gets up to 105 and Northern California SF stays around 50-80*

North Carolina, the worst weather you'll get is Hurricanes, California will get you earthquakes and a shit ton of traffic, depending on where you move in NC you won't get traffic and the worst you'll really get is hurricanes, and plus everyone's got a truck, you'll just have the nicest one
Use the undercoating to the right of what your got after 2 or more years it hardens like powder coat and is hard to get off with a wire wheel. I've been using it for 10 years or so.

North Carolina!!! I go to college in the mountains in NC and the weather is heavenly year round. Also the tail of the dragon is only about 2 hours away, and just normal driving in the mountains is awesome! You would love it in your z06. Plus theres plenty of places to go off roading

NC still gets rather cold during the winter. I spent 20 years there then moved to Montana and then Alaska and then Florida and back to Alaska currently. Needless to say I'm not scared of the cold but I would vote FL if you want warm year round temps and not have to deal with a bunch of hippies.
MOVE TO SWANSBORO NC or emarald isle nc winter usually doesn't kick in until January. Last Christmas it was 70 degrees. It's really pretty down here. California is too expensive and way too populated. Great southern hospitality down here PLUS you'd be right by the beach. Emarald isle is the most beautiful beach in the states to me.

I think the whole idea about tires sticking out from the body of the vehicle comes from the idea that they will throw stones really easily. Tires contained within the fenders of the vehicle won't throw stones forwards, and was the idea behind the whole mudflap thing back in the late 1980's.
Personally, if you want to run illegal tires, that's fine. But if we are passing each other on a gravel road, I expect you to slow down to lower the possibility of tossing stones at my windshield. That's just completely inconsiderate.
