- I'm not a huge fan of superhero movies, but there are a few exceptions. I actually liked "Deadpool" and "Logan." Now, apparently, there's going to be a movie with both Deadpool and Wolverine. It doesn't look that good, but maybe I'll go see it to watch Ryan Reyolds and Hugh Jackman.

On the cursing - the comics are written that way for Deadpool, it's part of his character. Otherwise I agree.

I can understand the writing. I agree totally with swearing in general. It has just turned into a braindead way to try to sound cool.
Mike took that swearing completely wrong. The scene they paused for Mike to go on that rant was clearly supposed to be a serious scene. Deadpool was pretty angry at the Wolverine there. Swearing isn't only used for comedy or shock.
That's my thoughts, he talked about it not being funny, Wolverine was literally tempting Deadpool to shoot him, it was a serious scene.

Agreed, definitely fits their personalities. I also agree with Knowles that too much swearing can water down the “comedic shock-factor”, making it less funny when it’s actually used in the right way. Though swearing is necessary for their rolls I hope the writers didn’t go overboard.
Michaels point wasn’t wrong in terms of swearing takes away from humor in certain instances, but yes in this instance they weren’t trying to be funny

That's part of the beauty of this movie. It's Deadpool's debut into the larger MCU, which has been less swear-heavy.

@@BobateaCafe-wp4wx Yes, these movies peaked well before the MCU and superheroes as a whole exploded in popularity. The direction was PG-13 since the first Iron Man, and Deadpool interrupted that. The other movies you mentioned didn’t do shit to change that. I must admit though, the ones you listed were great, and Watchmen especially was amazing.
Definitely not the best movie of the year but it does look funny and watchable

Believe me, anyone that whines about the cursing in this trailer but claims to be a fan of the first 2 Deadpool movies and Logan seems like a liar and Michael is definitely too prudish to do anything remotely cool like partaking in the green goddess.

I LOVE DEADPOOL!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣 Even though I am an original "church lady" & completely detest cursing, it's actually a major part of Deadpool's personality. I also think Ryan does his lines in such a way that, at least for me, the humor comes through more than the curse words he's using. If Deadpool didn't use foul language he wouldn't be Deadpool. 💖💖💖

I like Deadpool in *spite* of the cursing. And yes, I understand that it's an essential part of the character, and that just shows how good the character is, that I can still enjoy it despite disliking the foul language.

They're all pretty much the same is his point.
Ryan has fought to make this movie and to have it be the Deadpool we all know and love. Jackman is a friend of his and was glad to come on board. Feige (the aforementioned in the scene about the "blow") is the head of Marvel Studios and has been producer on many of the Marvel Universe movies. He and Bob Iger, the head of Disney, have been trying to insert DEI characters into the third act of this movie. They also have been fighting with fandom who aren't happy about the addition, to the point Iger told fans to "sit down and shut up, wait for the movie." Yeah, "shut up but give me money" is more like it. Ryan and Jackman have fought with them over it, to the point Reynolds has pulled out of several upcoming projects because of it. I wasn't going to see it, though I love Ryan Reynolds in anything and Jackman is great, I just didn't want to support Disney and their agenda. But I'm wavering about this now when I see the trailer. It looks good.
Don’t waiver! Don’t give Disney a single penny! I understand that you want to see it. I do too. But there’s no way Disney see a penny from me. It will be in streaming services soon enough, and as it’s a Fox movie as well as Disney it won’t end up solely on Disney+.
@@manofbeardit's a dumb mindset. Whether you watch it or not. The movie will be a success. Disney will be fine even if it flops. So seeing a movie that your hype for and jt turns out great is a fantastic experience. So I think it's worth it to go to the movies.

I’m a big Marvel fan, but the recent projects they’ve been churning out have had a lot more misses than hits. THIS on the other hand looks great. I hope they make Michael go see it just so that he’s proven wrong by how amazing the movie is (or he’ll be completely lost and hate it, who knows)
Basically after spiderman no way home doctor strange and hawkeye series where the last projects i liked after those nothing been good to the point i havent watch recent projects. Didn t watch the marvels tried watching ms marvel but dropped it the third episode didnt watch echo didn't like black panther 2. Basically hit or miss and most with majors being a misses

I've watched almost every MCU movie, and all my favorites are ones before and including Spiderman: No Way Home.
After that, meh.
Thor: Love And Thunder was okay, except for the gay stuff and Thor being more of a clown than a man.
The Marvels was vaguely cringey and generally uninteresting.
Aside from those and a few others, just about all the ones I mentioned are ones I'd enjoy watching multiple times.
Captain America: First Avenger is my most favorite.

You see, Michael, everyone else on the planet who has seen this trailer was WAITING for this trailer. Everyone else who saw it KNEW that Hugh Jackman was going to be in it, reprising his role as a slight variant version of Wolverine, after refusing to reprise the character since his demise in Logan over seven years ago. Everyone else who saw this trailer knew of the nearly two-decade-long faux feud between Jackman and Reynolds. So missing some of the references due to your dislike of superhero movies is nothing compared to the real-life references you will be missing because you were not witness to the many, many years of robust and jovial ballbusting between them.
That’s who Deadpool is!! The cussing is part of his personality a part of his personality that ppl relate to. I love that he cusses! He is the ultimate anti hero that is a hero! He kills the worst of the worst! I wouldn’t change anything about Deadpool! If they try to get another actor to play Deadpool other than Ryan Reynolds I will flip my shit!

Michael, I get why you don't necessarily like superhero movies, I can understand that perspective. But just know this movie hugely caters for the fans, that would be me. That's why some people go fishing and others work on cars in their spare time, we just like different stuff.
My favorite use of profanity in a movie is My Fair Lady. "Move your bloomin' arse!" is a pitch perfect punchline that was brilliantly set up and brilliantly delivered by Audrey Hepburn.
As somebody who feels that the superhero genre needs to take a major break for awhile, this genuinely could be great. Listening to Michael here is a bit awkward as he clearly knows next to nothing about these movies. The fact that a film is a superhero movie doesn’t automatically disqualify it, it’s the quality of the storytelling that matters.
On another note, I'd love to see Michael reacting to Gunn's Superman next year.

To be fair, I think the bad words are part of the joke that Deadpool is rated R, in contrast with other Marvel movies.

Deadpool and Wolverine swearing all the time is VERY in character. They're R rated characters and swear quite a lot in their stories. Wolverine saying "go f**k yourself" is a very iconic quote of his from the comics, he says it all the time and Wolverine says the f word in almost every comic panel lol

Everything I've ever heard about both of these guys is that they're some of the nicest guys. Not relative to Hollywood, just in general. So seeing them both beating the snot out of each other in a movie is going to be hilarious. I'm sure they had a ton of fun filming. The constant Wolverine jokes in the previous movies.... ya know, it just comes full circle here.
Well, This movie is tied to the 'Loki' tv series, which Marvel phase four is tied to with Kang. So it's a multiverse sort of Deadpool spoof.

I don't know why anyone would care. If the enjoyment of the movie is mostly meta, then it must be a lousy movie.

this is an R rated movie. Your kids and grand kids will not be allowed to see it in theatres. Maybe the frequent F bombs, blood, and cocaine references weren't enough of a sign.
It would have been a plus if they didn't use a 40 year old Madonna song in the trailer, but I'll probably watch it - not in theaters, but when it gets released to streaming...

Honestly, the story is just there as an excuse to put Deadpool and Wolverine together on-screen. The story could be about them gathering the cast of My Little Pony to save Christmas and it would still be good due to the sheer comedic and acting chops of Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman.

The trailer is meant for comic nerds, the easter eggs in this trailer was off the charts. The movie is going to be great and WAY deeper than what you are seeing here.

Felt like I was watching a homemade clip from a couple of junior high students that discovered the F word and think it’s “edgy” to say it. It’s gratuitous and almost an admission that they don’t believe the dialogue and story will be strong enough to carry the movie. No thanks Disney!

He shows off how little he knows about the genre when he's surprised that Hugh Jackman is Wolverine. Pretty sure there's a law that if he's in a movie, Hugh's playing him.😂
First, there's no cinematic Wolverine without Jackman. When he did Logan he said it was his last one, now he's saying this is the last one but also he could do one more if they let him share scenes with RDJ and Tobey McGuire. Second, I might be on the other side of you politically even more, I'm on the other side of globe, but I also think that they used to many fbombs only to make a point. Third, I am afraid that if you see it, most of it might go over your head, because of so many callbacks to other Marvel films. There are dozens in the trailer alone, like the giant Ant Man's head or Red Skulls car seemingly moded by a version of Tony Stark. Fourth, if you don't like comic book movies, try Iron Man, Captain America - Winter Soldier, Avengers End Game or Thor: Ragnarock. These are at least decent.
Seeing as to how hard Ryan Reynolds has had to fight against Disney to get his movie his way it should be good.

I am genuinely shocked to hear that Smokey Mike was a fan of Deadpool. The second one was just so freaking dumb and the first one was about as crass as they come.
As much as I don't agree with Michael on whether or not superhero movies are trash (depends on which ones you are referring to, lol) or his choice of movies he likes (I wouldn't watch Logan or the Deadpool movies if you paid me, just because I don't care for the amount or kind of violence, strong language, and dirty jokes/crude humor in them; I'd rather stick with the PG-13 MCU), I really just appreciate that he's NOT offensive about it, unlike another Daily Wire commentator I could name.

Today happens to be the 35th anniversary of the release of Madonna’s album Like a Prayer in 1989. Ryan Reynolds says marvel Jesus didn’t have anything to do with that.
The character is known for the profanity more than any other comic book character. Also I think they made the trailer swear heavy to make Disney (Libsney) very uncomfortable. This movie is going to make a ton of money because it probably won’t be pander-monium like all of their recent crap. Also, this profanity is a breath of fresh air seeing as how it’s a Disney/marvel movie and not fox.

The reason for the F word littered throughout is because they want it to be rated R without having nudity and about the only way to do that is with a ton of vulgarity.
