I wouldnt advise anybody to attempt a life like the one Freddy lived. But having said that i wish the criminals today could have some of those hard tempered values. This man responded to hes environment, and made himself a respected figure in a treacherous and dangerous world. not an easy task. he must have been as sharp as a razor.
Do you what he hit the nail on the EVERYBODY LIKES SOMETHING FOR NOTHING, that says it all even straight people like a bit of larceny without knowing it.
Fred was imo stronger than the Kray's, Fred had his own firm and was S/East of London, I think he regretted working with the Kray's, and he did admit he and others were going to iron them both out, I think Fred knew it'd be only time if they kept asking him, Freddie was an Ace, great blagger and businessman, And of course Marbella south Spain may 1983 after 7 tons of money was stolen ,it was the age of the Costa Del Crime. Fred was forced and drugged and put into a plane and sent home.
I don't know why I'm fascinated with true crime, I have never liked fiction, perhaps I like to know why people turn out l8ke they are. I was never in trouble, didn't like rough kids, avoided them like the plague and just went to work and did OK, I feel like these criminals must always be looking over their shoulder paranoid that someone will get them.. Interesting they carried guns because if you killed someone in the course of a robbery or a policeman and got caught you ended up with an appointment with the hangman until October 1964.
You could have nicked Freddie for GBH via his voice 😂 More power in a sentence than most have in a right hook. Chilling in the wrong circumstances, no doubt .
Even the bank robbers had decency back then not like nowadays theyd knock your gran to the ground for a quid now. People like fred and the krays would never allow that which meant the streets were safer.
Freddie is a true legend. He also had a social conscience with regard to how he would sell stolen white goods for a third of their full retail price. You take liberties with Freddie at your peril, as Ginger Marks found out to his cost.
Interesting/informative/entertaining.
I could honestly listen to Freddie’s stories every day.
Fred done a favour for our family .could never repay him ,but he never asked and was a gentleman
Interesting to see the full version here, certainly a fascinating character.
