I bought these patches a year ago and I still love them. And I still come and listen to this demo at least monthly. I hope someday I can play them with close to as much musicality as you do. Not only one of the best patch banks, but one of the best demo/performances out there.
This pack is the best thing i bought for my studio all year! It's like having a completely new synthesizer, except i already know where to find the buttons i need and how they will affect the patch! It's awesome!
Super happy to hear that, mate! Thanks! This was my core motivation all along. I always knew this synth was able to do some really great different sounds, so I wanted to make a whole new, useful pack for people to breathe new life in this old but still highly relevant little friend.
Oh heck, I just got back to my MicroKorg for the first time after 12 years or so, and your patches just turned a powerful but opaque synth with boring presets into an absolute joy to mess with, I'm getting sounds out of this baby I never thought possible. I love it, cheers!
My dad's had his Microkorg for about 10 years, he mainly just goofs on the presets. Maybe when I go visit him this Christmas I'll upload this pack on there as a present. That would be cool. Kudos, Cuckoo
I just bought your patches for the microkorg. That's really cool, i'm happy because these patches give a second life to this great old synth. Also your folder is organized, that's simple to load the patchs to the microkorg and i really appreciate. Continue to share your passion.
I love these patches. I have had my MicroKorg for 2 weeks and gave up with the presets as soon as I saw this video! I downloaded it 5 mins after watching your video!
Thanks for the kind support Cuckoo, my transfer onto the MK was almost accidental after all. The software is like out of the 1990's , it would copy but not paste, then bam, it just transferred your patches after 8 tries.
I am not even 6 minutes in... and I love it, man. Most chilled dude and one can feel the happiness and satisfaction you have and had with this. Interested and excited to see and hear past and future projects and videos of yours.
Whoa! This is a real labour of love! We used to have one of these at the local youth project, but it's long since stopped working. These patches are a beautiful gift, but more than that your dedication and passion for music inspires me to want to create and share more. Great job, cuckoo!
Thanks for these awesome patches! Just picked up a microKorg a few weeks ago collecting dust on a pawnshop shelf... This this has sooo much potential in such a tiny size.
These patches are fantastic, just got them yesterday. A Cuckoo face-plate sticker to match the sound set would be glorious. If you have a microKorg this is a must get. So much sonic goodness...
just downloaded these patches last night and they are excellent! I've downloaded a couple other sets, but these have a more modern sound, and have wonderful little nuances such as an additional fizzy crackly sound on one preset as if you're playing a half-broken keyboard. some other presets have a doubled, or other sound going on at the same time which is really cool. And the mod wheel is set nicely on a lot of presets to get a weird effect or just the right about of vibrato. I find that these patches are set so perfectly that I don't really feel the need to tweak the knobs on them. Thankfully the download includes a '.set' file which makes it easy to load up all presets at once (i'm using windows). I just drag that .set file into the 'microkorg' icon in the software and in a few seconds it's all loaded up. excellent job and well worth it!
Super happy to hear all of this! To hear you putting to words all the hard work, and the careful considerations is making it all worth it for me. I hope you find the sounds useful and inspiring ❤️
I've bought Volca FM after having watched your videos and now I'm really hyped on buying Microkorg (also I've been listening to a lot of Knower / solo Louis Cole lately so I'm infinitely inspired)! This is such a powerful tool, and you've made such beautiful patches for it! Woah, love the vid!
I really need to dust mine off now don't I? Rarely get the patience to try and figure out any of my own patches but this has given me newfound inspiration. Thank you.
I fell in love with the character of the ms2000 when I got to play with one a few years ago, besides the lack of the mod sequencer, your patches prove to me that the microkorg would be a fair substitute. Excellent sounds.
I can say that the sysex files he provides work perfectly on the MS2000, if you have one! I never can get Sysex Librarian or MIDIOX to work, but the older program MS2K Patch Buddy works perfectly on Windows! Just a tip. The MS2000 is basically the Microkorg with the patch editor physically but in! I guess the MicroKorg was more popular because it was cheaper. The MS2000 is still my favorite go-to synth. Such a great balance of flexibility and simplicity. Thanks @truecuckoo for infusing some new sounds into this this classic sound engine! Love them.
Totally gonna buy his patches. They need a Cuckoo inspired MicroKorg! Definitely breath of fresh air to this technology. Sweet riffs and tunes man. Love when I see you rocking out in this video Letting your muse take over!!
Love it! Got mine the year it came out. Really interesting arp patches. Can’t believe I never thought of running two different voices with different arp settings on the same patch. You’ve given me something to work on now.
Man this is awesome. It's so cool to see this iconic piece revisited with these fresh patches. I bought my first real synth just a couple years ago and was so torn between the MS-20 Mini and the microKorg. I chose the MS-20 Mini which helped me learn so much about synths in general. I've had a chance to play a few microKorgs over the years and always loved them. Seeing this tutorial is definitely inspiring and makes me want to go back and get the MK. Thanks as always cuckoo, papa bless.
thank you Sir, was waiting for this. in a homage to all these music pieces written last years using this great instrument. good form and delicious patches.
You're a legend, Cuckoo! Making this must have been a labour of love. Your craftsmanship, generosity and creativity know no bounds! You're also a damn fine keyboard player! Thank you, kind sir 🙏💚
Wow thank you so much! I’m pretty happy about it too. And in general impressed at how versatile the engine is. I’d be curious to hear what it sounds like on the analog counterpart, the MS2000.
Wow, these are fricking awesome! I don't have the MK, but your patches definitely show it's a very capable tool. It sounds like a completely different synth now, and better at that. Cheers!
Hello there I just watched your video and I really enjoyed it. I love the patches you created and more than that, I really like watching and listening to you. You seem genuine and passionate about music. You are a good host. I really enjoy the overlay of your face while you play. A nice touch that I have not seen before. For me it really adds to the performance. I can't imagine how much work must go into making so many sounds; and I appreciate it. Excellent work.
Thank you so much! Much appreciated, and I’ll take it to my heart. I’ve put a lot of work into this, so hearing how you appreciate the work makes me really happy. 🙏🏼
I really like this collection of sounds. You kind of went all-in on the FM sounds. There were quite a few patches that could have been taken right form a PSS-480.
Cool sounds! Bonus info btw - the MS2000 has the same synth engine pretty much, and can be had in a lovely rack mount version, with all the controls on the front. Very cool triple sequencer in there too!
@@truecuckoo I have one, it's a great look into how much the MicroKorg can actually do! They can change parameters per step, or each other's playback speed, be programmed to pitches, on separate oscillators etc... it's the kind of synth that's fun to just program and program!

Amazing patches. Will definitely get my hands on this patch pack after I get a new audio interface. A good way to rejuvenate that little synth that I've got for twelve years now.
