Hi James, thank you so much for sharing every steps that you go through in Aviate program. I just submitted Aviate Program this morning. I wish to see you in Arizona. Cheer up and good luck in flight training.
Hi JP, Can you do a video talking about the actual timeline of the all the courses together. From PPL all the way to commercial flight completion? Thanks
Yes any expenses you may have while you are here including housing. The loan isn’t directly through United Aviate it’s through a bank. I got mine through Sallie Mae
Just got my Med Cert First Class and now studying the text books to prepare for FAA exam. Question on vision, have you noticed other students wearing glasses?
I haven’t noticed people wearing glasses very often but I believe you can have correctable vision. Double check on that because I never needed glasses so I’m not 100% sure.
I have seen people wearing glasses though so don’t let that discourage you. I would just research into the correctable vision stuff I was talking about above.
Oh definitely not going to be discouraged. The FAA certified AME doctor said as long as my vision is corrected to 2020 via my glasses, I'm all good. I just wanted to know if there were current aviate students you had noticed that wore glasses. Thanks for the info. I subscribed to your channel in your first video and I look forward to your updates. Hope to meet you in person once I get through my FAA exam and set a start date for United Aviate.
They give you 4 months to complete the conditional acceptance items. I completed everything at the end of April and picked my class date to be July 202
Thanks for all the info! I got conditional acceptance and am working full time to prepare to move out. Do you know if the FAA PAR exam is required and/or the consequences of not completing it or passing?
For me it was required that I pass with an 80% or better. It will be required when you go to do your PPL checkride so I recommend just getting it out of the way early. Also getting it done forces you to study some of the concepts you will encounter when you get here!
@@AV-iu6bd it took about 2-2 1/2 months to hear back. It’s such a new program there is a flood of applicants. Patience is not my thing but it is key! Good luck and I hope to see you on the runway!
My class had 24 students. In the first year, there is a class every month coming in. In the future I have heard rumors that starting next year there will be 2 classes per month to meet the demand of pilots they will need to train.
@@flyguyjp1469 I see, thanks for the reply! I was hoping to live in one if I get accepted, don't want to drive a car. trying to save all costs and as much as possible
Congrats, I’m waiting to hear back from them… I hope you can keep up these videos as you train, I’m wondering why current students have not posted anything about training. I wonder if you will have to sing an NDA about the program or if they find out you’re posting while in the program you will be kicked out. Just find it strange no current students are posting. Love to see their ME planes and current wash out rate. Thanks
The program is brand new this is the first year of it open so That’s probably why you haven’t seen a lot of videos about it yet. On the other hand, I can’t video or show you any of the study material that belongs too United Aviate Academy.
@@flyguyjp1469 Or take video out on the flight line I'm sure or even around campus. Can't wait to hear more, but don't put yourself in a bad spot with United for a UA-cam Channel! Not worth it. I subscribed, so I'll be watching for updates. I know you'll be super busy.
@@pilotbsinthesky3443 thanks for subscribing! I’m definitely gonna be careful not to violate any rules. My main goal was to document my aviation journey and hopefully help anyone out that has questions about the program or what to expect.
@@flyguyjp1469 Perfect, can't wait to see more and follow. I'd love to know what Multi's are there at the academy and what the pass rate is per checkride so far of students. @@pilotbsinthesky3443 I believe for PPL it is in the 90’s for pass rate so I’ve heard. Not sure on the rest of the ratings. Because this is the first year of the program nobody is at the ME stage yet.
Hey it's me again..How much would you recommend saving for expenses for this program? Since students don't have time for a job, we would still have to pay for things like food, vehicle, etc.. Do students have an income once they graduate and begin to get hours? Thank you
Hey FlyGuy! Thanks for these vids! Quick question, how long did it take to hear back from them after submitting your initial application? I’m sure they’re getting a ton, just trying not to overthink all of this. Thanks so much and all the best!!
Hey! Cool videos bro. From New Mexico here too. My passion in flying came later in life and i am 29 now. My question is do you think that my age would be a negative factor in getting selected? I know you said in other comments that working and studying together in this program is hard but currently I am a nurse and we can pick-up shifts for some hours on as needed basis. What is a typical schedule like, including ground class plus flight? I want to work just to offset costs a little bit and not be broke but not to the point to negatively affect my studies. Also, how was your loan approval process? Is it hard to get? any information on credit score, cosigner, etc?
There are many people of various age ranges. Most actually coming from other careers (myself included). Typically day is flight in the morning, ground work in the afternoon and then preparing for the next days flight. As far as finding a job they recommend you don’t because the program does move at a very fast pace. I didn’t have any problems securing a loan and I went with Sallie Mae.
@@flyguyjp1469 hey what’s up man great video! Great question from the guy above. I’m in a similar situation, I live in southern California and I’m 22 years old. I had applied for a loan in the past maybe about 6 months ago and I got denied. My credit score isn’t too bad I’m at 680 and I have great income as of now and I still got denied. You mentioned sallie Mae should I apply now and see if I get approved or should I wait until I finish my application assessments that they sent me first before I do any loan applications?
Hey how’s it going, I just have a few questions, so I am still in high school and I am planning on applying to the Academy. Do I need a college degree to be able to go to the academy? Also if I am still 17 should I apply now even though I am not of age or should I wait until I’m 18. These videos were an amazing help as well thank you so much!
Hey! Having a college degree is not a requirement, because the application process is lengthy I suggest to apply and put your most up to date transcripts along with your anticipated graduation date. One person in my class was a fresh high school graduate so I know it’s definitely doable!
Hey it's me again haha I commented on your last video.... just one question, how did you prepare for the initial interview and the one before your training started? Any tips or advice?
Hey there again! I studied for it by writing down the most common types of questions and writing out my answers so they come out smooth when you actually say them on camera. The first initial interview they will give you the questions and you just have to record your answers in the program they use. They give you 3 tries to record so it’s ok if you mess up the first time. The second interview before you start your training is more of to just get to know you on a personal level and how you react to stressful environments.
@@flyguyjp1469 Thanks a lot for your help ! Another question, I'm starting to fill out my application, in the section where we have to upload relevant documents, I'm uploading my resume and transcripts... do you think if it's necessary to upload a cover letter or recommendation letters?
Im happy I was able to find someone who is taking the time to really go into detail about this program from the beginning. Do you think there's enough time to pick up a part time job while training? Also, how about health insurance?
You will be very busy between ground classes, flights, and studying for the next day. They consider it a full time job but you can get a part time job if you wanted. They don’t recommend it because it is a very intense and fast paced program. As far as health insurance, they have a deal with Mercer marker place where you can purchase health insurance. (Consider that cost when applying for your loan as well)

Trust me, the Aviate program is in no way a "fast track". Especially a fast track to an FO position with UA.
