Thanks for the insight. I just wanted to note to all you Honda Pilot Folks, this is low beam only. The tutorial was well done and explained.
"bulb will come right off"
Buuwaaahahahaaaa😂
This is just what I needed! Getting the air duct out of the way was a HUGE help. Thank you!
Solid video, about to do our 2014 Touring. I've watched two, and i like how you put the bulb in first, then attached the wiring harness.
Some comments on another video stated that they couldn't turn the bulb and harness together to remove it initially because the harness wiring is so short that there was not enough slack to turn counter-clockwise.
I'll give er a go tomorrow.
I know one thing you need little hands to do this. I am 6'9" trying to replace the bulbs in my daughter's 2013 Touring and it was a beast getting my hands in there. I thought I was going to have to remove the headlights or cut off some fingers (LOL). Eventually got it done. Had to have my wife come out with her small hands and press the clip that disengages the housing on the drivers side it was so snug!
I accidentally removed the highbeam light first on the passenger side, and the holding clip is different from the model number 11 replacements for the low-beams.
W my man-hands I had zero shot of removing them from their seat w o first removing the wiring harness.
Once I did that, it was easy, like 1, 2, 3. Both low-beams replaced.
Thanks for the video. We have updated headlights.
Thank you for the concise vid!
Thank you this video helped out a lot.
I just can't seem to twist it I can't get leverage enough. Help
Same here. I’m no contortionist
Had the same problem. Turns out the clip/wiring was preventing it from rotating. After unclipping it while attached it rotated super easy
@drewwolke2847 thank you sir. I appreciate this comment. Saved my fingers and sanity.
Fantastic, simple, right to the point. Didn't go and take off the front bumper cover like some do. The advice to put bulb into twist position first and lock in place "before" attaching connector wire is brilliant. When the connector is attached while installing bulb back in hole, there is a great tendency to miss lining up the face of the bulb edge evenly with the hole because we don't want to pull too much on the wires....normally good advice but really messes with the brain's sense of where things go when you generally are not able to see cleanly around the crowded space getting it all back together. Nice job and thanks for sharing. Now I'll go do mine.
Thanks Rick! Glad this was helpful 👊
Who else pulled the high beam bulb out thinking it was the headlight? So that was fun.
Thank you very much!!!
You're welcome 👍
Thank you
You're welcome 👊
I had to use a larger flat screwdriver to push the connector down while holding the tab with my other hand.
when you rotate do you need to push in first? mine is straight 90 degrees up and down and I can't rotate it for the life of me.
It might be the seal stuck to the housing. It should just twist then pull out.
Same. I’m twisting counter clockwise with everything I got and it won’t turn. Halp😅
@@melvinfisher643 figured it out from some other vids. un plug first then twist. came out easy as hell after i unplugged the wire thing first then twisted.
@@Rocketman9mmthank you. I swear i would have broken something, shit wouldnt turn. Came across your comment and it was easy! Not sure if honda changed turn mechanism between model years.
I’m in the same boat. It won’t budge!
That is the high beam bulb on driver side. Not the headlight. The headlight is much harder to get to on the driver side.
Man I do hate when auto mechanics trivialize and act like everything is standardized. So that plastic piece on the front that has the two plastic pieces do not come off or go back on a simple as this video describes because if they did, I wouldn't have pretty much completely destroyed them taking them off and putting them back on. Any chance you know where I could replace those on a 2015 Pilot?
Some come off easier than others. I've broken plenty myself. The auto parts store will have replacements or if you have a Harbor Freight nearby you can get an assortment for pretty cheap.
All super easy and helpful for me, don't blame him for your car being weird.
You must have tiny hands. And I thought mine were tiny....
Yeah man. I am 6'9' with big hands and that was no easy job.
Thanks 😊
