- A staple on CBS-TV from 1972 to 1984, "Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids" was one of the best cartoons aired during the golden age of Saturday morning TV.
Each week, the gang learned a lesson and the episode ended with them singing a song about what they learned.
While many shows from the late-60's / early-70's era featured music segments (The Archies, The Globetrotter, Josie & The Pussycats, etc.), the songs on Fat Albert were far more educational than the bubblegum pop tunes of the earlier shows.
And like the earlier shows, the Fat Albert show did have a soundtrack LP released for it (Paramount PAS-6053). But, this LP now seems to be extremely rare. It's so uncommon that many Saturday morning cartoon music fans are totally unaware of its existence.
The video is from the original Filmation show.
"The Prankster" was written by Bill Danch and Jim Ryan
I use to watch this every Saturday mornings when I was a child. Brings back a lot of fond memories.
I love the song at the end, it's so true.
I hope you've learned your lesson Otis. Never play a joke or a prank on anyone else because it could hurt somebody so badly.
Now THESE were the golden cartoons!
I miss the good old days those were the days so much better then today
That episode was really GREAT! I sure hope that Otis learned his lesson about the idea of "practical" jokes.
lol I miss all the old Saturday morning cartoons.and now that Im an old woman of 51 years of age 😥😒I miss everything from the 70's all the show and after school specials and the sitcoms where so much better for kids to watch compare to today's t.v shows and movies even the toys compare to what there selling to parents for the kids.plz let me know if I'm wrong there just way to much violence any more and it's so sad 😒😔😢 the kids this day in age don't want to do anything except being on cell phones laptops and computers and any other gadgets in stead of call on there friends riding bikes or playing in tree forts or having sleep over and slumber partys all the good old clean fun making brackets or head crows made of dandy lions when I think about it I really do miss those things so to get bk to what I was saying these things are and would be a lot better and safer to do then today's computers things at least you would be able to see who yr talking to and you know who yr playing with or even talk to for that matter.thank you for yr time have a good nite.god bless from the oldie but goodie girl lol
OLD I'm 52,The Seventies were A Blast.
Love what you wrote. I’m born in the 80s, I appreciated cartoons from the 60s-80s. While cartoons are getting better now as some have improved, nothing beats the classics. Everything is getting remade nowadays.
I dont' blame you, Dorothy. Today's TV on the weekend is all news all Trump bashing all the time. We need great TV again.
Dorothy Bardy, Im 47 and now Im nostalgic about the 70's and 80's shows that I grew up on. Fat Albert is one of them. Oh, I remember the after school specials . Oh, I loved it. It was my innocent times. So I feel you.
"Boy otis you sure look funny" says the guy with a sock on his head
i was a white kid wanting to fit in with black kids in the late 70s. I loved this show because there were no shows or cartoons with young black kids back then. Very revolutionary for the times
For some reason, I liked Russell's baby talk here. Though it made no sense that Russell going to school with them, since he was Bill's younger brother.
I admit i didn't like this that much as a kid. But i see the appeal. The music and laugh track is surreal
Its nice having a blast from the past!
I LOVE the song at the end.
Wow, Otis even tricked Bill Cosby too? Dang!
Otis shouldn't be going around playing tricks and pranks on others. That is wrong of him to do that.
I love the show and the movie
It just goes to show that what may be funny to one person isn’t funny to everybody else
Wow! The original episode. They left out the part at the end where Bill and Fat Albert converse....
Cool Albert oh is he funny oh my gosh
Hilarious
I have noticed that a lot of the episodes of this series have the mechinism that allows people to post comments discontected. Probably because of the number of members posting vulger or insulting messages. In any event, I am very happy that I am still allowed to post on this upload!
Can't believe kids dressed like that, then.
cool.
Alessandro de Souza sujeira tá limpeza
I got kind of a Joker vibe from Otis
i hate pranks.I hate practical jokes.they are not funny to me at all. They are mean, hurtful and bad jokes in my eyes.
