For people pointing out the inaccuracies, the title is "Peabody's IMPROBABLE History", not "Peabody's Absolutely Accurate History". :P Also, I hope they don't screw up a wonderful thing with the new movie.
As a kid, I always laughed at the horse that was carrying Peabody & Sherman. It had such a MEAN MUG, like it was gonna drop the Album of the Year, or something
Yesterday I saw the movie in theaters. When the movie was over my dad told me I should watch the original Mr. Peabody and Sherman, that's what I'm doing. I should say,Dreamworks did a pretty good job remaking this classic. ^^
In fact, a detail glossed over in many of Beethoven's biographies is his meeting with a bespectacled talking dog and a young boy with red hair and glasses.
Took my sons to the movie 13 and 12 it's nice that we were able to see a "family" oriented movie that was fun and simple. Thanks , and the visual was fantastic. Also thanks for the Puns
this really takes me back as a kid I can remember coming home for lunch when I was in school what's strange about it I can remember the things I used to eat for lunch
Why does everyone hate the movie? The director and the actors for Peabody and Sherman all said they used the cartoon to stay true to everything featured. If you pay attention to the intro, the eras from the movie are also displayed
First of all, they retitled it, for no good reason, from "Peabody's Improbable History" to "Mr. Peabody and Sherman." 🤔 Second of all, so as not to offend 21st-Century men-children, they replaced Sherman's *real* shorts & t-shirt with baggy, androgynous clothing covering his knees and elbows. 🤢 And third of all, to appease the feminazis, they added in that (hitherto unknown) Mary Sue character who always does everything perfectly the first time-just because she's a girl. 🤦🏻
Those people who think the new Mr.Peabody and Sherman movie is ripping off family guy need to watch this video. It will show them where the idea for the movie came from.
Well, it does say " Improbable History"...problem was, when I watched this in the early '60's I had no idea what improbably meant. Looking back I think I at least understood the concept/premise.
@@saintmg The Waybak machine is impressive, yes, but, I'm slightly less impressed than I might be, as far as IQ goes, given the world he live in. In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king. In a world of idiots, it would be hard for Peabody not to be the most incredible genius around =p
Wait, if both Mr Peabody and Sherman took the way back machine to 1799 Vienna Austria why the hell are they then in the middle of traffic with cars going around?🤔
I always liked the cartoon of Mr. Peabody and Sherman they always made me laugh. Same with the movie I liked because it was funny and so expiring to me.
Duane G. Shelton told me that Beethoven was deaf. Even though Beethoven was deaf, he still knew how to read music. Vienna, Austria still had horse-drawn carriages in the 18th and 19th centuries. Even though they still had rockets in those days. 🐎 🇦🇹
Cars in 1799, Beethoven’s perfect hearing, 4th of July in Austria, and an actual son rather than got custody of his nephew Karl. Definitely fictional, but fun!
This was actually a funny one, because Ludwig Von Beethoven instead of composing music badly baking a cake! 1:22 to 2:15 It is good that Mr. Peabody always is willing to consider what his advice could do to people. However, if this is Austria why is Fourth of July being celebrated there. It is a good thing Ludwig didn't make it to the moon to make his moonlight sonata, but fell back to earth before he would have died without making his other classics you know. Thank you putting this on for us and Jesus loves you! :D
In about 1800 his hearing began to deteriorate, and by the last decade of his life he was almost totally deaf. So no, he was not completely deaf. And its Van, not Von, but maybe for the cartoon they used Von.
Maybe the improbable history is when John Lennon heard Yoko playing Moonlight Sonata he asked her to play it backwards. This became the inspiration & song on Abby Road, "Because". That has to be improbable.
[in tone of revelation] Ah! I finally recognized where I've heard the voice of Beethoven before: It is very close to the voice of Disney's 'Ludwig Von Drake." So, that's a clue that Paul Frees did the voice of Beethoven for this cartoon.
Wait a minute, why are there cars in Beethoven's time? Why did he compose his 4th symphony after his fifth? Why are they celebrating the 4th of July in Austria? I don't think this is historically accurate guys.
Ouch! It is Ludwig VAN Beethoven. He was of the peasant class (Van) not from the noble class (Von). Looks like we need another episode to straighten that out!
at least it wasnt like the Underdog or Rocky and Bullwinkle movie!!! Being a fan of the show since i was 6 and having watched every episode before the movie came out, I have to say that the movie did stay true to the show. The 1st 10 minutes were just like an episode of the original down to the crazy escape plan, and moral puns. even the intro when hes doing yoga just like in the 1st one. Of course there were some creative liberties taken like, how he found Sherman, and dealing with parenthood, but these are essential in a feature length adaptation of the 5 min shorts. We need them to give the characters more depth and personalities. And since it is a movie it needs more of a story and a plot to make it work. Like Shermans 1st day of school, and a bully. it cant just be.."they go to egypt, then rome, then blah, then come back" a movie needs conflict. Just think of the Movie as "what takes place after all of the episodes and their adventures" and you see what I mean.
Time-travelling, bowtie, british accent, a faithful companion... Mr. Peabody is a Time Lord.
He predates Doctor Who by a solid 4 years. Hector Peabody was the OG Time lord.
He doesn't speak in a British accent. Its just old upper class American.
@@TheLowBrassDude Oh yeah. You're referencing that saving stamp cartoon.

"I didn't know you could cook, Mr. Beethoven."
I didn't know he could HEAR. :/
He was composing music before he became deaf. He was such a genius, though, that he continued to compose after he lost his hearing.
This is IMPROBABLE history.
He had about 60% hearing by 1799, he completely lost his hearing by 1816.
I didn't know they had cars in that era.And they didn't.
Lee Anderson intresting
I grew up watching these and all Rocky & Bullwinkle shows. Brilliant stuff.
God! this took me back like 55 years in an instant!
I like how Austria celebrated the 4th of July.
The cars looked so primitive back then too.

I love rocky and bullwinkle! Peabody's Imrobable History was one of my favorite segments.

Good point!
Honestly I like the movie way better than whatever this is 😂
2020 gang the movie was alright
Exactly!
But putting cars and a Fourth of July celebration in what was clearly stated 1799 Austria is really pushing the definition of improbable
Ahhh, always wonderful to hear Paul Frees in old cartoon series like this.

They celebrated 4th of July in Austria? This is the kind of history lesson that will help me pass my exams.

Well, considering the cartoon title is: "Peabody's *_Improbable_* History," that should be a clue to the veracity of the subject matter.
