The Bifrost 2 is the worst measuring dedicated DAC I've ever owned. But it's also the best sounding DAC I've ever owned. Mike doesn't mess around. He knows what pleases the ears, and he knows how to make it affordable. Hats off to Schiit Audio for taking the hifi industry forward, and making great sound increasingly more affordable.

We are all getting older and there will be a day, sooner more so than later, that we won't get to hear the words, knowledge, opinions, humor, thoughts and wisdom of this legend. People obsess about measurements of what they can't hear. That's beyond crazy. I don't care AT ALL about numbers. As long as I don't hear hiss or distortion, I just care that my equipment gives me aural pleasure. I'm picky, sure...SUPER PICKY...about what I can actually hear. My Vali 2 and Modi Multibit gave me immense pleasure but I gifted them to a friend, so my favorite stack right now is the Modius with the Asgard and Asgard 2. Oddly, I prefer the original even if it measures worse. It sounds so organic and palpable with the Modius. I feel I can almost chew the music, and even though it lacks high gain, it rocks my beyerdynamic DT 880 Edition 600 ohm and HIFIMAN HE 5XX. Lastly, I ordered the Magnius days ago. I want to hear the latest Schiit sound, especially with full-on power through the balanced connections. March can't come soon enough! God bless you guys at Schiit Audio. As an audio company, you're #1 in my heart! You have made history and changed the course of the audio industry. The haters hate that.

I'm proud to say that SOL was my first real turntable. Got it before they got the presets figured out. It took a LOT of fussing but that was the whole point. It really sounds beautiful.
I have a Freya+, Bifrost, and Vidar at home and a Vali 2, Modi 3, and Loki in the office. I love your work, keep it up!! Also, if you could see it in your heart to give us a tube power amp I would be forever grateful! Thanks for the great gear!!

Wow. I would love a Sol. I think I heard Mike and Jason later say it probably wasn’t going to happen. This makes me nostalgic for the future, if that makes sense. Looking forward to the CD transport , my 20yr old Denon cd player is starting to go. The tray mechanism is having issues and needs some coaxing when opening and closing.
I'm very interested in the Sol. I also began my audio hobby journey when you could buy turntable separates, even choosing the base. That can still be done, and I think it's great that for reasonable money today you can get a very good turntable all set and ready to go right out off the box, I would prefer to have a stripped down, highly tunable turntable.
If and when they make a 50 hz Sol for us here in UK i wonder if he could use a Flat Belt instead of a round one. The videos i have seen on the Sol show the round Belt not running TRUE on the platter. I also am a fan of Both Decca Cartridges and Grado since the mid 1970's and still use them today. I love the look of the Sol and would love to have one. Sadly at this time it is not coming to the UK
I hate that record sound better. But they just do. They're hard to clean and keep clean when you buy them used you can't tell how much they've been played and when you buy the new reissues they usually suck so you're forced to find old records and play that game of roulette but when you get a good copy of what your favorite record is it just kicks the s*** out of your CD or stream

I bought the Modius, the best measuring DAC Schiit makes, and it is the best sounding DAC I own. Haven't heard it side by side with the Bifrost
@@johnratcliffe6438 Balanced out is working great with the Neurochrome HP-1 I put together. Use it daily as my desktop setup. It's a great little DAC.
Love the sound of my Bifrost 2 also..Pairs great with the Asgard 3 and looks fantastic stacked on my desk.

You guys should come out with a high mass version of the arm for the SOL so it can be used with the Denon DL103 cartridges.
yes delta sigma high end good! Try a Bircasti M3 to benchmark as well as a mola mola tambaqui and throw in a lampizator and combine all three.
If we are ugly and digital has holes.
Then vinyl is a lossy format like mp3 but little worse. (If you know all the production steps you know..)
