Your video was extremely helpful and straight to the point, thank you so much! I can finally play blood-trails. Thanks for making this for the people who can't afford a pc.
Congratulations to the winners Pogto- Roblox, Eel, Monke191, Jacob Jarkowsky and Robo Worgen. While it will definitely be a little more challenging then doing it on a regular gaming PC it should still be possible! If you are planning on playing a lot though you should consider getting the persistent storage add-on. I haven’t personally tried it but I’ve heard great stuff!
So I’m trying to create a developer account on my phone but for some reason after I do it takes me to this screen where I can hardly see anything accept for a couple of words
You might not have to do it that way anymore (I can’t say for certain but the method I am about to tell you works for 95% of people) Step 1) Open up the Meta Quest smartphone app. Step 2) Click “menu” in the bottom right hand corner. Step 3) Click “devices” and make sure your headset is connected. Step 4) Click “headset settings” Step 5) Click “developer mode” and toggle the switch on. Here is a link to a screen recording of me doing it: imgur.com/a/P5bYK11 Hope that helps!
@@AndysVrReviews okay so I got that down and I downloaded the app an everything but when I plug it up and accept everything it takes me to my files and then when I go back to the app it says you may need to accept a prompt on the target device if your using it for the first time and it won’t go away and I can’t move my screen or anything
Wait, i have a few questions. 1.) Each time i wanna play a steam game, do i have to repeat the whole process each time? 2.) Do i have to have the oculus plugged to my device the whole time i play? Or can I unplug it once i start playing?
1) You won’t have to repeat the whole process but you will have to turn on the virtual computer and redownload the game UNLESS you pay $10 a month for permanent storage. If not, all data is cleared from the virtual computer 30 minutes after it’s been turned off. Then you’ll just have to turn on the virtual computer and you could start playing. 2) Once PlutoSphere is downloaded onto your quest you will never have to have a wired connection again.
I would do this but it takes like 5 minutes to boot up plutosphere. Then it takes forever to login to steam there is way to much latency delay. Between keypresses and receiving visual input. Because I have to wait like maybe 2 minutes to just type my username and password....
Really helpful video, nice work. Do you know if you can host a room in Bigscreen using this? I'm going away for a month but want to carry on hosting UFC and football
I am not sure what permissions you give Plutosphere exactly but it gets downloaded to your Quest only, no files are saved on your computer or android phone. As for the security of the virtual computer, the whole thing gets a full reset and erases all data 30 minutes after being turned off. Unless you get the persistent storage but even then only you would have access to it. PlutoSphere has a very large following (I believe they are over a couple hundred thousand users) and I’ve never heard of anyone having issues with them when referring to data leaks or anything like that. You might be able to get some more specifics on their security via Discord: discord.com/invite/plutosphere Thanks for watching!!!
seeing how this sets up, i wouldnt believe that if even possible would acess your pcs files, in this case, pluto is very unlikely to be able to read off of your pc. so no for your pc's sake its safe
So I’m trying to play recroom and everytime i click “play” on my virtual desktop and then boot up rec room. I go into plutosphere, steamvr boot ups up fine but then why I try to play recroom it just says “next up Recroom” and doesn’t load anything
Don’t open up Rec Room on the virtual computer, open it from Steam VR within the headset. Also the “next up” could take a while to load, give it a full minute or two of saying “next up” before you give up on it. If it still says “next up” after a few minutes re-open the Steam VR menu (by clicking the button with 3 lines on the left controller) and click the desktop icon on the bottom left of the menu then click the 3 lines on the Steam VR pop-up (on the virtual computer) and select “display VR view”. The first 2 things I mentioned though should do the trick.
I hate posting similar videos but I made the other almost 5 months ago and so much has changed since then and a ton of people keep asking similar questions that I wanted to answer in this video. And great, I’m glad you entered!
Congratulations, you were selected as one of the five winners! I have passed the PlutoSphere usernames onto my contact at PlutoSphere and he should be adding the tokens shortly. The button on the Oculus website to connect your Facebook? I haven’t heard of that happening, the only thing I could think of is if you are already signed into your Facebook on the same browser and there is some conflict.
You get them through Steam. I’d recommend getting them through your laptop on Steam without going through PlutoSphere because then you are wasting tokens search for / paying for the game.
This is mainly meant to work with SteamVR, while you can probably get it to work it might not be worth the effort considering you’d also need a persistent storage addon with PlutoSphere so it didn’t erase your hard work setting it up every time you turned off your virtual computer. If you haven’t already, you should check out Real Commodore 64 on SideQuest, it might fill your need for an emulator somewhat and it’s free. i have some questions. 1. when i go to the dashboard it says add tokens to play. Do i have to do that? 2. when i go to the dashboard im not on the same screen as u
1) Yes, it cost a $1-$2 an hour to play but if you want to try it out for free they give out tons of tokens each day on their discord. 2) They have updated the dashboard since I made this video but the process should be the same.

The graphics themselves vary game to game but that’s nothing to do with PlutoSphere, some games have better graphics then others no matter if you are playing on the Quest 2 or flatscreen games on a PlayStation 2. As far as the latency (response between your movements and the screen movements) the quality of that will depend on 1) your location to the nearest AWS server and 2) Having a quality router (5GHz wifi band is recommended)
I can't turn on developer mode because it never connects with my phone but when it tries to, it flips from being connected to not connected repeatedly and its done that for as long as i've had the headset☹
Great vid ,wondering could I play Microsoft flight simulator 2020 in full VR mode with this system ,I have a cloud gaming set up on my quest 2 but it's in pancake flat mode
when plug my c-c cable into my quest2 it says allow. and I click it. then I go into the mobile side quest app. and it says something has to be allowed and it will not let me continue. I'm really bummed obout this and it's very frustrating can you please help me?
It sounds like you are doing everything correct so without actually seeing you do it it’s hard to predict what it could be. If you try and download something will it not let you or does the message just not go away?
@@AndysVrReviews it will not go away. I try to tap off of it but it just stays there. this only happens when my headset is connected to my phone. when it's not, then side quest works just like it's supposed to
Hmm, that’s weird. I know when I used the mobile app there was a message on screen that kept wanting me to connect wirelessly as well but I was able to ignore it and still download any app I wanted. Maybe someone in their discord could be a better help then me. Here is a link: discord.com/invite/r38T5rR
Luckily a lot of Android phones use a USB-C as their charging port. If that’s the case you could use your Quest 2 charger. If not, you’ll need a USB-C to whatever your phone port is.
If you are the one who provides the Steam account, it doesn’t come with its own Steam account. Also, the games will have to be downloaded onto the virtual pc.
You need the persistent storage option ($10 a month) for it to save permanently. If you don’t want to spend that then most games are covered under steam cloud saves but the game will have to be redownload once the computer has been turned off for more then 30 minutes. Once PlutoSphere is installed, your phone no longer needs to be plugged into your quest ever again.
My problem is when i want to download plutosphere it says only that its sending to sidequest but it isnt. I dont get the green bar that says its downloading. Is it because the newer version or something??
Once PlutoSphere is installed you will never have to plug your quest into your phone or computer again but the virtual computer has to be on when you want to play a pcvr game. Think of the virtual computer the same as a real gaming pc in your room.
This is a very outdated video, you can now do it 100% on your headset using their app lab client. I have a newer video on it but I still have to update even that.
Yes, it costs about $1-$2 an hour to use. You might be able to get some for free by visiting their discord though. Here’s a link: discord.com/invite/plutosphere
How would I do this without steamvr? I bought bonelab, and I wanted to play this on PCVR buut I bought it on the Oculus Store so it'll only be the Oculus app.
You don’t… once PlutoSphere is downloaded you could use the oculus browser but you’ll need an android phone, Mac or pc to download Sidequest / PlutoSphere originally.
Yeah, when they were first starting out but now that their user base has grown a lot they stopped it. You could still win free coins in their discord though, they give out a bunch almost each day.
The only thing that would take up space on your moms computer is Sidequest and that is less than 1gb and could be deleted as soon as PlutoSphere is installed on your quest.
Thanks! Glad to have you here! Just as a side tip , when downloading PlutoSphere you should also download sidequestvr.com/app/9473/sidequest-inside-your-vr-headset that way you could use your quest in the future to download sidequest games rather then your moms computer. The app just came out and it’s great!
PlutoSphere acts as a digital gaming pc you could rent so if you are having issues due to wifi (and not based on the power of your computer) you will experience the same thing with PlutoSphere.
Then it might be worth checking out! You might be able to get some free time on it as well by visiting their discord, they give out a ton of tokens each day.
O never mind it just worked but I have another question so let's say I buy tokens for five hours and I get off vr for a little bit does the time keep running or does it stop
After the virtual computer is turned off for 30 minutes it will wipe all the data unless you pay an additional $10 a month for persistent storage. There are Steam cloud saves for a lot of games but you will still have to redownload the game.
You might be too far away from an AWS server. You could try Shadow cloud gaming and see if it’s any better, the setup process is similar I believe although I haven’t personally tried it. sidequestvr.com/app/6536/shadow-vr-early-access Or maybe try and use Plutosphere and maybe it will still be playable.
AirCar is a pretty cool free demo. You go around a cyberpunk style city in your flying car. store.steampowered.com/app/1073390/Aircar/ If you want to play a PCVR game like Boneworks or Half Life Alyx though you’ll have to pay for it. PlutoSphere gives you access to a VR ready gaming PC, not the games themselves.
Within the headset? Try to quit and reopen it a couple times. Here is a link to the discord, they might be able to help you there better then me discord.com/invite/plutosphere
I followed the steps on how to turn developer mode on and then connected to side quest but once i downloaded plutosphere and went to unknown sources, it just showed me a warning and would not let me the sources, do you know what could of possibly happened?
It doesn’t have to be USB-C to USB-C but it does have to be USB-C (for the quest) to whatever connection your phone has. So if your phone has a USB-C then yes. That I find is always the easiest because then you could use your Quest charger.
@@AndysVrReviews my phone have a usb c. So it is usb c to usb c. But does it have to be 3.0 usb c. To maintain a fast speed through the cord. So it can function properly.
As long as it’s connected you’ll be good, it’s not running the game off there, it’s just to download sidequest / PlutoSphere so a fast transfer speed isn’t required.
How long does it say that for? If it says that for a minute or two that’s normal. If it still doesn’t open after a few minutes then click the 3 lined button on the left controller to open the Steam menu. Then click the desktop view icon on the bottom left hand corner and see if the game is playing.
Thank you for watching! I will be doing another giveaway within a couple of weeks, it might not be through this video but it should have PlutoSphere tokens involved as one of the prizes. I was thinking of doing a giveaway where people guess the release date of Bonelab with a bunch of different prizes so make sure to stay tuned!
Shadow charges a monthly fee instead of charging by the minute but they are no where near the level PlutoSphere is. You might be able to get some free Plutosphere tokens by visiting their discord, they give out tons each day.
Do you have tokens? It costs about $1-$2 an hour to play so if you don’t have any it won’t let you push start. You can probably get some for free on their discord here: discord.com/invite/plutosphere
Yes, it costs money to play. About $1-$2 an hour. If you’d prefer to not pay, you might be able to get some free on their discord here: discord.com/invite/plutosphere
It says that on sidequest? I’ve never heard of it saying that but someone might know why on the discord. Here is the sidequest discord discord.com/invite/sidequest and the PlutoSphere discord: discord.com/invite/plutosphere
Hey man very informative vid! I do have a question tho When you download a game from steam to your virtual computer where does it store, like is it my phone storage or the quest storage ?
Hey, thanks for watching! It stores on the virtual computer and you will have to redownload it if the virtual computer is turned off for more then 30 minutes (after 30 minutes of being turned off all data on the virtual computer is wiped for security reasons) However, if you plan on using this a lot you can get their persistent storage for $10 a month and that won’t happen.
@@AndysVrReviews oh okay brilliant, do you have infinite space on the virtual computer and if I didn’t use the persistent storage would it cost me tokens while I download games?
No, I think it’s a few hundred GB. Just can’t remember is it’s 128 or 500. And yes, so if it’s something you plan to use a lot I would recommend getting the persistent storage since you waste an hour of time downloading a game. I’d recommend visiting their discord, they give out tons of tokens each day so you could test it for free and make sure you like it before buying anything. Here’s a link: discord.gg/uP3aUYWKj9
Hey man sorry to bother you with this but I know you reply 😁 I’ve been looking online for a clear answer but can’t find one. I’ve bought my OQ2 and was wondering how I can tell what games I can and can’t play as I don’t have a PC so I know I can’t play boneworks for example
Hey man, no problem! You can play any game that you see on the mobile app or within the headset. You cannot play boneworks without a gaming pc but you can play Bonelab (a very similar game made by the same people) However, both Bonelab and Boneworks are very advanced so I would recommend starting out with other titles and seeing what you like. when plug my c-c cable into my quest2 it says allow. and I click it. then I go into the mobile side quest app. and it says something has to be allowed and it will not let me continue.
What type of usb do you need to connect your phone to the oculus to use side quest
Luckily a lot of Android phones use a USB-C as their charging port. If that’s the case you could use your Quest 2 charger. If not, you’ll need a USB-C to whatever your phone port is.
why is my sidequest different? i cant even access games only resolution on it
Can you play that alyx hitman mod with streaming aswell
Yes but obviously it would require the extra steps to set it up.
Question can you log in to a steam account that already has a game bought and play it
If you are the one who provides the Steam account, it doesn’t come with its own Steam account. Also, the games will have to be downloaded onto the virtual pc.
@@AndysVrReviews thanks
two questions does it save game play and do you have to keep you phone plugged in to you quest plz answer
@@AndysVrReviews thanks for answering my questions have a great day
My problem is when i want to download plutosphere it says only that its sending to sidequest but it isnt. I dont get the green bar that says its downloading. Is it because the newer version or something??
I have a question? Can i play game slike gorllia tag?
Gorilla tag is free on oculus
Gtag bans you
Heu am I able to play non vr games to quest 2 example like evil nun
wait after u open steam vr can u close the computer?
Once PlutoSphere is installed you will never have to plug your quest into your phone or computer again but the virtual computer has to be on when you want to play a pcvr game. Think of the virtual computer the same as a real gaming pc in your room.
do you get tokens right when you make an account, and how many tokens do you get a day?
While the tokens use to be free, you have to pay for them now. Depending on how many you purchase it’s about $1-$2 an hour.
alright, thanks
well i cant buy any tokens and i dont have a phone or a pc so how do you play pcvr games without plutosphere
This is a very outdated video, you can now do it 100% on your headset using their app lab client. I have a newer video on it but I still have to update even that.
When I installed it said that I need to add tokens to my account so I could use it
Yes, it costs about $1-$2 an hour to use. You might be able to get some for free by visiting their discord though. Here’s a link: discord.com/invite/plutosphere
How would I do this without steamvr? I bought bonelab, and I wanted to play this on PCVR buut I bought it on the Oculus Store so it'll only be the Oculus app.
You can download the Oculus app on the virtual computer but I am not 100% sure if that will work since PlutoSphere is built to work with Steam VR.
How you do this only with your oculus quest 2 or quest 1
You don’t… once PlutoSphere is downloaded you could use the oculus browser but you’ll need an android phone, Mac or pc to download Sidequest / PlutoSphere originally.
The genre is shooters like the half life alyx mod gunman contracts on OQ2
I’m on OQ2
Does anyone know when the free daily tokens are coming back? Cause I’m almost out and I need some more besides the discord giveaways
Are the games free or do you have to buy them on steam like half life alyx
No, the games aren’t free. Using PlutoSphere is like using a gaming of your own.
Just subbed hope it makes your day 🎉
Wasn’t there like a thing where you get 600 tokens a week?
Yeah, when they were first starting out but now that their user base has grown a lot they stopped it. You could still win free coins in their discord though, they give out a bunch almost each day.
I dont know how to create a developer account it kept asking me to make a game or something like that
I'm trying this out but when it gets to the stage where you go and click vr to load it up it'll just sit at a black screen anyone know how to fix that
did you have to pay
i got a question?? how much space is it??? cause my mums laptop dosent really have alot of space
The only thing that would take up space on your moms computer is Sidequest and that is less than 1gb and could be deleted as soon as PlutoSphere is installed on your quest.
@@AndysVrReviews ohh ok thank you so much im subcribing right now
Thanks! Glad to have you here! Just as a side tip , when downloading PlutoSphere you should also download sidequestvr.com/app/9473/sidequest-inside-your-vr-headset that way you could use your quest in the future to download sidequest games rather then your moms computer. The app just came out and it’s great!
So I downloaded plutosphere and it says I'm offline and when i click to turn online or go to Desktop it does nothing
Do you have tokens? It costs like $1 an hour to run and won’t turn on if you don’t have any in your account.
@@AndysVrReviews ohh I don't have tokens that why thx
No problem! Check out their discord, they give out tons for free all the time. Here’s a link: discord.com/invite/plutosphere
When i click the link for sidequest it says the app was made for an older version of android
Hey man this could be abit late but can I use a 2014+ MacBook for this process I haven’t got much money and I’m wondering if a 2014+ MacBook will work
Yes, that will work!
@@AndysVrReviews thank you this helps a lot :)
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching!
@@AndysVrReviews hi again can I get Boneworks because on steam it says oculus rift and I have a quest 2
Yes, that won’t be an issue. I personally have Boneworks which I purchased via Steam that I play using my Quest 2 all the time!
I know this Video is old
But does plutosphere work like air link? Because when i tried air link it was really laggy
PlutoSphere acts as a digital gaming pc you could rent so if you are having issues due to wifi (and not based on the power of your computer) you will experience the same thing with PlutoSphere.
@@AndysVrReviews i dont think its because of the WiFi its because of my PC performance
Then it might be worth checking out! You might be able to get some free time on it as well by visiting their discord, they give out a ton of tokens each day.
@@AndysVrReviews i just dowloaded boneworks and it doesnt work
What part are you stuck at?
Is there a way to get mods for boneworks from this or can u not get mods from this way
I haven’t personally done it but I believe you could just by following the same processes once the virtual computer is running.
Im gonna try out get some money and see if i can do it cause i really wanna play boneworks.
It wont work when I press download app it just says installing at the beginning and it doesn't install
Is there an error that shows up? Also you are checking that it’s not in your unknown sources?
O never mind it just worked but I have another question so let's say I buy tokens for five hours and I get off vr for a little bit does the time keep running or does it stop
After the virtual computer is turned off for 30 minutes it will wipe all the data unless you pay an additional $10 a month for persistent storage. There are Steam cloud saves for a lot of games but you will still have to redownload the game.
It says that there detecting high latency from my location
You might be too far away from an AWS server. You could try Shadow cloud gaming and see if it’s any better, the setup process is similar I believe although I haven’t personally tried it. sidequestvr.com/app/6536/shadow-vr-early-access Or maybe try and use Plutosphere and maybe it will still be playable.
There’s like no games on steam that are for free
AirCar is a pretty cool free demo. You go around a cyberpunk style city in your flying car. store.steampowered.com/app/1073390/Aircar/ If you want to play a PCVR game like Boneworks or Half Life Alyx though you’ll have to pay for it. PlutoSphere gives you access to a VR ready gaming PC, not the games themselves.
I went on a game on Plutospere and it just has a black screen and now I can’t go on it
Within the headset? Try to quit and reopen it a couple times. Here is a link to the discord, they might be able to help you there better then me discord.com/invite/plutosphere
I'm stuck on the we sent a link to *my email* and I did it but I couldn't access the machine
I am so confused because how am I supposed to make a steam account with no computer or pc
I also can't type in the number code in the oculus app because it says that it is already used but I have never used one before
Create the Steam account using your phone here: store.steampowered.com/join
You can only play for an hour if you can cones? I’m confused
hey so when I try playing boneworks on Pluto sphere the controllers will not work and I can't use them is there anyway you can help me with this?
This is sometimes an issue with Boneworks specifically. Here is a fix: m.ua-cam.com/video/CWOnknjiTyQ/v-deo.html
My name is DesertDragon and I’ve always wanted to play half life Alyx but I’ve never had a pc to play it
Does anyone have a developer mode organization I can join cuz no matter what I do whenever I create an organization it never works.
Does this still work now or are there easy ways to set up. Thanks subbed
I know small things have been updated, like the layout of the PlutoSphere dashboard but all the steps are the same. Thanks for watching!
My steam menu doesnt open when i press the menu button can you help?
Can we do this without plodo spear?
I can wait a day for bonelab
Lol how is it
This error says for me says very high latency how to I fix it?
I followed the steps on how to turn developer mode on and then connected to side quest but once i downloaded plutosphere and went to unknown sources, it just showed me a warning and would not let me the sources, do you know what could of possibly happened?
It could be that developer mode was not turned on correctly. I will look into it.
@@AndysVrReviews alright, thank you
Ok so do i need a usb c to usb c to connect the oculus to my phone.
Ok so what are you using to play the vr games ur phone. If so dont that phone have to be compatible for the right hardware to play vr games.
Whenever I play a game it just says next up and my game that I wanna play
How long does it say that for? If it says that for a minute or two that’s normal. If it still doesn’t open after a few minutes then click the 3 lined button on the left controller to open the Steam menu. Then click the desktop view icon on the bottom left hand corner and see if the game is playing.
I figured it out thx
I'm trying to use this to see pc avatars in vrchat will this help? I don't have a computer
Yes, it will! After Sidequest / PlutoSphere is initially downloaded, everything could be run off the quest.
Thank you so much man can i enter the giveaway i never really had money to get one myself
Anymore pluto sphere tokens?
Sorrt, not right now but you might be able to get some for free by visiting their discord.
What about the new version of the vr
plutosphere wont let me buy anymore tokens , when i try to buy it just says the payment cant be completed now pls help
I haven’t heard of that happening before. They would know what’s going on, on their discord. Visit it here: discord.com/invite/plutosphere
Is it possible to play every pcvr game without a USB?
Once PlutoSphere is downloaded on your quest it no longer needs to be plugged in at all.
Does the shadow thing cost any thing
Shadow charges a monthly fee instead of charging by the minute but they are no where near the level PlutoSphere is. You might be able to get some free Plutosphere tokens by visiting their discord, they give out tons each day.
when i get to pluto on my laptop i cant click start it doesnt let me
Do you have tokens? It costs about $1-$2 an hour to play so if you don’t have any it won’t let you push start. You can probably get some for free on their discord here: discord.com/invite/plutosphere
It's telling me to get tokens for pluto and I can't press the start button because of it
Yes, it costs money to play. About $1-$2 an hour. If you’d prefer to not pay, you might be able to get some free on their discord here: discord.com/invite/plutosphere
can u play resident evil 7 vr with this
When I try it always say " resend like" on the phone can you help
It says that on sidequest? I’ve never heard of it saying that but someone might know
why on the discord. Here is the sidequest discord discord.com/invite/sidequest and the PlutoSphere discord: discord.com/invite/plutosphere
can you play modded gtag with this or no
No you get banned due to it being a cloud based app
And with this you can play any PCVR games without a good gaming pc?
Yes
Why is plutosphere not showing on the app store?
It’s showing up, I just checked. You are looking on sidequest, correct?
Hey man very informative vid! I do have a question tho
When you download a game from steam to your virtual computer where does it store, like is it my phone storage or the quest storage ?
If you want to try out some games for free, here is a video I did that includes some great ones: m.ua-cam.com/video/nXFheMy5Y7I/v-deo.html
