And then if you play in CANADA like Scottie you get a royal hockey stick up the rear end when it comes to paying taxes!
Yea that's to much he can't carry a franchise you still gotta pay other pieces he can't dribble he shoots horrible but take the bag Jit
def has a handle , shot 35% from three last season and above 50% FG avg 20/8/6 for the season...suggest you actually watch him before you form an opinion
You don’t know ball lol
@@pratikmohapatra9836 35 is not a good three point percentage.. and also he isnt above 50% he shot 47.5 in 2024
@@bkelly625 I don't think no one has ever said if they had to build a franchise today it would be around Scottie Barnes but teams gotta a cap and they had to give him a bag if not him who else
@@newyorknewyork2224 He is 22 years old and was already an All-Star and has better physical tools than 95% of players so the path for continued improvement is there. They are paying him for future production not was he’s done so far and while he might never crack top 10 players (I think there is a chance) it’s easy to project he will be consensus top 30 or 25 player soon and that is worth this type of contract in today’s NBA
Honestly, NBA players are just more skilled overall than NFL players. There are less of them so it's harder to make it to the NBA than the NFL. As such, their pay reflects that. However, NFL players are tougher and play a tougher sport but that also means those contracts won't be guarenteed cuz of the injury risk. The NFL won't look to change that cuz they like to control the players. In contrast, the NBA is built on individual stars so it's a players league. It's really just that simple 💯
The nfl is DEFINITELY not tougher by any metric, a 400 pound slob can make millions in the nfl without an ounce of skill, not the same at all in the nba
Everything is getting too expensive and the fans will stop showing up and selling out arenas. The days of nba guaranteed will come to an end as well , too many dudes always sitting out anyways
Wasted money.. then they will eventually trade.
Facts
He must qualify all nba next year or he only gets 227million
rj and quickly is better imo, we'll see
I’ve been saying RJ is going to be the real star of the team. Just wait and see, he has way more upside.
@@chrisminard3550 also maturity tbh
@@chrisminard3550 like i really dont even know what position scottie even plays, hes not a ball handler, pf, sf, or shooter. maybe he'll replace siakam. hopefully nonetheless
@@chrisminard3550 no way... rj literally has one move... drive to left for contact layup.. RJ will never be a star... not hating it just is what it is... hes gonna be good but a star? not even close
W for the Ism
Raptors are doomed, Scottie hasn't proven anything. Stop giving guys money just based off potential. Let them actually prove something first. Give it 3 years and were gonna see how much this re signing was a bad idea.
NBA money sounds great but there are only so many jobs available. That's why guys play football. Lol. You can at least make a roster and make some kind of money. It would be cool if they passed some of that money to the G league but they get paid less than guys owning their own business or working a decent job
Why ????
Because he deserves it
Sct Brn
Barnes is barely a $10 million dollar player. Over hyped and overrated. Save your money Toronto for a real superstar.
Derrick white worth more than 30
NO TF HE ISN'T
When he’s your fifth best player , you know you got a powerhouse. All that Luka hate after the finals was absolute nonsense.
270 mill for 19 point a game guy !? 🤣
Looks like poor Raps fans is bound to mediocrity for a long time to come.
This gonna be the worst contract I’ve seen in a minute
The average player will make 250 million while I work for a union and yesterday they gave us a dollar raise ! 😡 this world is so fcuking corrupt
Lmao you should've picked a better career path then
How many people are paying to see you work for your union while your boss/company makes billions of dollars in revenue. Who should get the money, the player who people are coming to see or the owner? Get a grip of reality buddy
Capitalism
Shouldda had a jump shot buddy 😂
@@g-money3766 don’t get it twisted I make 30 an hour Canadian (Toronto) so I’m still make above average pay but still compared to athletes. I ain’t broke by any means 😂
Yea this makes no sense but I guess it’s the times ….. Scotty Barnes’s is basically gettin payed like Tatum and brown and Luka and ant man …
It’s a rookie deal
@@brendan8637 that’s clear not confused about that. …. Just a waste of money for mediocre player …. Gd luck Toronto
Youre an idiot. Who do you think is gonna get paid then if not scottie? You understand teams have to spend their cap space...
Cade bout to get his 😎
He’s not worth that
Oh without a doubt 😂
@@Death4K yeah aight😂
tell cade get his bands up we only talking to quarter-billionaires
NBA salaries are honestly criminal. nobody should be making beyond 20M per year to play basketball.
Lol gtfo yeah they should that business is huge and you're big sad 😅
Mind your business. You must be stupid or something the NBA is a business.
Then you need to limit everyone’s salaries in every career. They are paying the salaries because the “pool of money” generated is available and the owners, years ago, decided to go to a salary cap situation tied to that “pool of money” and percentages of the cap.
So you rather the owners get it all?……………. No
It's his fault he's got a profession that's extremely profitable?
Pat a hater...If some NBA player is not worth the money, is he worth the ESPN contract? I had barely heard of him before he got signed.
54 millions for that?
Exactly...apparently we pay on hopes and delusional dreams now
@@vintagepimpage6049🤡
He's not worth it. give that cash to Quickley and Barrett because they get you buckets night in night out.
He did improve from the previous year but I have my doubts.
For 19.9 PPG / 8.2 RB / 6.1 AST LOL Raptors are going to hate this contract
Because no other all-stars wanted to play for the Raptors.
Such a average player and gets a record max lol
The owners share too much with the players. It's just dumb at this point.
This is so overpaid for him. I don't know why players that aren't top 15 getting max deals. It should be for all NBA talent only
