Wish there was a way to click like on this video a few extra times. As many have said below, you are probably the best flight reviewer out there right now (at least my opinion). Really down to earth and chill personality, quite so funny, and not pretentious in any way or "high on yourself". Stay humble on this path and you will certainly find rewards at your end.
a few times I flew with MAS (KL - MEL) and their inflight service was great, their roasted peanuts are a win! KL international airport has so much potential.
Recently I moved to KL and inevitably have been using MH for most of my business travels. For the previous 10 years I was based in Amsterdam and KLM was my main carrier. Every time I fly MH I just see so much potential. There are so many easy things that they could improve to make the whole experience much better. From the website/app, to the frequent flyer experience at the airport, to the classes on board (business suite makes no sense) and the network. Singapore air has become extremely expensive and they could easily attract singapore flyers, but the main problem is the network. Very few long haul destinations. People nowadays want to connect 1 time. 2 times maybe for unusual destinations. One thing I can confirm though is that the crew on board has always been exceptional. One of the best I ever experienced.
Well, more people like you support MAS, the better they will be like they were back in the 90's. Back in the 90's, they were 5 star airline. MAS can be like the "premium economy" of all the airlines. You pay slightly more for a premium product but much less than it's well-known competitors.
You're by far the best flight reviewer in town, Simon. Keep up the great work. And let's see how many innuendos you can cram into the next one! Love it.
I remember when klia2 was being built. Was working for Malaysia Airlines at the time so I often fly out of the main terminal. It was incredibly obvious that the terminal needed refreshing, even back then in 2014. Malaysia Airports (the airport operator) seems like they have forgotten about the main terminal simply because the money maker was klia2.
Bahah i remember the LCCT back in 2009 - no air conditioning except for a couple of dinky areas, toilets were filthy that were literally hosed down by the cleaners. Like you said, a shed is the best way to describe it. It was very rough 😢
Those four ThaiAirways a380s parked up in a line with literally nowhere to go , has to be the saddest thing in long haul aviation.. I’ve been on some of those in all 3 classes , with fond memories of each flight and it’s such a shame . No doubt they’ll never get used again until possibly broken up for spare parts .. who knows ? Apart from that shot 😢 , nice video .. 🙏.
You should try and fly with their new A330neo! I think they ordered 20 of them, and the first one just arrived on November 28th. Would love to see your review on it!
KL was such and awesome hub for London flights in the late 2000s and I always stayed at the airport hotel. Was so awesome then when you had no passport control just jumped on an electric buggy to the hotel. As time went on things always change but I remember looking out of the Heathrow lounge in July 2012 to see my 747 but wow there was an A380 Sitting there. What a beautiful livery and still today I watch the display flight of that plane at the 2012 Farnborough show. If you haven’t seen it Simon check it out you might agree with me. Thanks again for another awesome video
Malaysia Airlines We have totally rebranded the former SAS aircraft for Malaysia Airlines…….. Simon. I’ll be the judge of that! Supreme content once again. Many thanks.
I mean in bizzy at KLIA you could have actually been chauffeured in a BMW i7 to the lounge but yeah there’s not many of them around and was also not expecting Simon shower pics on this one
Hi 😊 great video. I just fly using MAS airline and Yes they do not have premium economy but they have an option to upgrade economy seat to extra leg room seat. It is exactly like premium economy 😁. I paid an additional fee of RM250 per seat. The seats literally behind Business Class and before economy Class section 😂. They have like only 2 rows with the configuration of 2-4-2. I think is a Good deal 😂
Just flew the same ex-SAS MH A350s twice this year on KUL-DOH / DOH-KUL route. Much nicer business class experience than the old A330s. Seats are good, but narrow. Could be a bit tricky for someone with some heft to get in the window seats with the narrow entry space. All in all, a way better experience.
Great deep dive, Simon, on KLIA. Surabaya has a crazy airport, admittedly on a much smaller scale, but two terminals on either side of the airfield. The USB test is a good differentiation. Do you think the slow charging is to avoid exploding batteries? Thanks for the wine tracker. Very useful!
Flew a Malaysia airlines a350 in business from london heathrow to kl and back again in November this year and the pillow really sucks being too small and felt rock hard . Really didn’t get any sleep both ways and the entertainment feels soo dated . Cmon malaysia update your movie selection!

Not a fan of KL airport. I am there like 50 times a year, and it does not get better over time. The e-gates have been a great relief to be fair. But otherwise. There is a special bus for business class, i found that out after lake two years... so yeah... the stupid train should just be working to beginn with. First Class lounge is also quite bad. Food is super strange and the wine always corked :D
Hello from Perth. Please tell me how/where you got that transparent suitcase? The only one I could find was on Amazon or a wildly expensive RIMOWA x OFF WHITE one.
China airlines also rent one also. I hope you can come to Taiwan to try china airlines’ A321. I think the business class is the best small jet in Asia .
KLIA connecting flights are terrible. Lost my bag at the airport to Sri Lanka. 3 days later, the moment I was about to leave. My bag appeared at my hotel door.
KLIA was built in 1998. Almost 30 years ago. It was great back then, of course can't compete with more modern airports of today. That's just simple logic sense.
So as a thai im also confused why the frick the put an "i" at the end and i dont blame you for the wrong version of saying, its said, Sah- Wanna Phum. thats all, amazing videos.
I’m gonna get a lot of hate for this but I’ve always found klia2 to be nicer in some way especially considering the price point you’re paying. KLIA1 just feels so dated.
Did you say where you started the trip review, I saw A350, then you boarded a 737, maybe I missed it. I only say this because it seems as though Melb get the A350's and Syd gets the A330's. Malaysian is not the only carrier that does this, Thai was the same, surely its a logical reason, or do Syd people make a greater mess thus get the crappy old aircraft
Nope…it’s not very old…stop exaggerating…I have been to almost all European airports…and all of them need serious revamp…KLIA is fact way better than all overrated European airports…even on par with middle eastern airports…you obviously are not frequent traveler…

I think it's more to 'political' reason that klia was poorly built. The construction 'benefited' some people and they put behind the layout and design. How pity.

KLIA Main Terminal is indeed in a revamp mode at the moment
Its lot easier to transfer between terminals than lhr . T 3 and 4 are long way apart as is T5, need a bus or train and takes a lot longer than KL
