G'day from Cairns, FNQ. Fiji Airways begins services to Cairns in April 2025, which gives North Queensland a slightly more direct route to the USA than to schlep my way to Brisbane or Sydney. It doesn't feel right flying 2 or 3 hours south only to turn and go north again. It's such an ordeal changing terminals in Brisbane or Sydney. Meanwhile, Qantas has basically ignored Far North Queensland as far as international connections goes. So, thank you Fiji Airways for bringing us closer to the world. Oh, and great video!
That secondary liquids check only for Australia is the most inane and irrational public policy I have ever encountered. Absolutely pointless and does my head in, every single time. Cue losing your water bottle, jumping on a LCC, and having to buy water - this happens. It’s absolutely insane. Nanny state Australia strikes again.
@ Only for Australian flights. Really frustrating- seen people with infant formula made to throw it out at BKK, then sit at the gate for an hour with no way of getting water. Ridiculous scenes.
I agree I travel back from Cambodia via Singapore many times never had it.... nanny state what about the American secondary security check or even going to America....why are you here@@kimjonguunnn
I don’t think this is a strictly Australian thing. Not all countries but many have this restriction. Not to mention that in the USA the rule applies to domestic flights too. Then again American security is a whole other thing!
Another great review mate. Always an airline that has interested me. Given that there is no direct flights to the USA from Perth hopefully Fiji Airways start direct flights from Perth to Nadi soon which could be a pretty compelling way to travel especially to the US west coast. And yes those secondary pour out the water bottle checks for Australia are just madness!
I think nadi to brazil would be an interesting route, connecting flight to tokyo targeting the large japanese diaspora in Brazil. Might be a bit far for even the a350s though
Definitely ok for the a350s, GRU is even closer than SFO-SIN which United does with their 787-9s and the a350s have even better range. NAN as a stopover would make a lot of sense for Tokyo/GRU traffic for sure.
Worth mentioning they also goto Hong Kong Singapore and Tokyo, Did WLG-NAN-NRT for $950 NZD Return eqiv on AirNZ or Qantas at the time was 1500-1800 so well worth the short layover.
Fiji seems like a WAY nicer way to get to the US, especially from Melbourne - cuts up that slog of a pacific crossing while allowing you to get to hubs like LAX and DFW. And when i looked on google flights, both legs were on A350s!!!
The hard product on all (well most) J class A350s is fine - as is Fiji Airways product. What makes a huge difference on FJ is the cabin crew - they are simply fantastic. I've done the Pacific on a number of carriers (but now travel exclusively on FJ). The FJ cabin crew have well and truly put all the others to shame. The likes of QF and AA should simply be embarrassed about how bad their cabin crew are - especially when FJ are so very, very good. Transiting in Nadi is a very good way of going over the Pacific - especially so out of ADL. I simply can't imagine other carriers ever being as good as the FJ product from AU to the US.
Oh I miss Norm ha ha and nice your traveling with your mum! I did a flight to LAX with a two day business stop over and tried the economy which was ok but even though they said I would get Qantas points when booking they had an entry on my FF saying fare not applicable. Interesting legal dilemma! The silent area downstairs after the lounge in Nadi was an awesome area and no one knows it’s there. Well best kept secret! Ha ha Thanks for the review and have an awesome 2025 But what a horrible end to 2024 feeling for all those lost in South Korea 🥲
I would consider flying them from America to Australia if my other options weren't a direct flight to Brisbane(domestic transfer) i rather transfer internationally where possible... Too many times being screwed over doing a international -domestic transfer in Australia.
Last time I was in that lounge - Fiji had just had a cyclone and they were on generator power for the entire airport. Someone forgot to fill the generator. Spent 40min in the dark
I know that. Australia is extremely paranoid so if you even bring a sandwich, they will probably analyze it to death. I sort of get it but it’s definitely over the top. Being constantly paranoid that anyone and everyone is out there with only one intention to do you harm is probably quite incorrect. We human beings can deal with rules.
Your mama is such a doll. Great video as always :)

Is it for all flights to Australia? I don't recall seeing it in Japan or Singapore when I was there last year

@@kimjonguunnnI think Singapore's screening at gate makes it redundant (not sure if Jetstar do it in Terminal 4 though).

Simply superb!! Don't change a thing! 😊

Good point about Japan 🫡

So worth mentioning that I mention it in the video 😅😂
I've done the business class long haul from LAX to AKL via Nadi on Fiji Airways and the bedding is actually quite good. They're a fun airline imho.

Great vid, new sub.. Also you are super cute ☺️
I've been looking forward to this as this airline and airport could work out as a transit hub between Australia and North America.

Me 🤝 syd airport bus
@@FlightFormula at least with a international layover, you don't have to run the risk of being held up in security to catch your last leg.
Babe wake up flight formula just posted
wake up it's 2021
Most underrated flight reviewer for real!

Cuts off the top half so not full length?
Amazing eyes ❤
Yay!!
Nice 🍍🏖
its not just water my dear!
"ok i'm done"
There business class needs doors like Delta Airlines. And there Fight Attendants need new uniforms. There outdated.
They are not outdated! They're cultural!
Doors are overrated
Why would you want doors like sitting in a cage
Pls no more ai image slop 😭
Also, it's pronounced "advantage" 😬
Dvantage
I'm thirsty 😜😅
Please don’t use AI for illustrations, love ya Simon
Give more solid reason please
Prefer your videos in the past with less pictures from online
Less talking segments?
@ yes probably, prefer more contents focused on the business class itself
First!
