A nice way to start my Saturday, raining and stuck in lockdown in Brisbane, Australia. Thanks Guido great flight and information along the way have a great day.
great video! You had my blood boiling at the beginning though when you were entering the runway, rhyming off a checklist by memory and then said checklist complete. The CFI in me was going to feed into you as no checklist is complete without referencing the checklist. Then at 3:30, you redeemed yourself with ALYWAY USE A CHECKLIST. Hate it when people say "ive memorized it". NOT good enough, we all forget things! great video, sir!
Hi Dave, The Camera angle of the Video does not show everything in the cockpit. I use checklists ALL THE TIME. In a single pilot environment, a challenge and response checklist does not make much sense. I do my flow checks and then back it up with a checklist. In the later stages of the flight, you see me various times having the checklist in hand during flight. Sometimes the list is near my left knee, outside the camera view. I don’t know which aircraft you fly. The Citation is a simple design aircraft. Nevertheless you need a checklist to back up your action. It’s easy to forget items that can kill you. Pure memory items are very sparse in the Citation, eg. rejected take off or emergency descent. There you have no time for a checklist. Happy Landings, Capt. Guido
@@GuidoWarnecke exactly. emergencies (at least the first part) should always be memorized, then backed up when applicable. Great videos. Glad I found you!

Thank you Jeff! Aviation is a never ending learning process. I also learn on every flight: big things, small things. Important is to lear from own mistakes and mistakes from other pilot and trying to avoid them in the future. Happy Landings, Guido
Great video. I'm curious about the checklist calling for landing lights to be turned off soon after rotation. Would it not make more sense from a conspicuity point of view to have the landing lights remain on during the climb?
Hi Stephan, that depends on the location of the landing lights. The King Air have them on the nose wheel, so with gear retraction they come off. Some jets change from landing lights to pulse lights. In general you are 100% correct to show lights and make you visible below 10,000ft. Happy Landings, Gudo
I love that you share the reasons behind all of the little details that make up a successful flight and I learn so much from each of your videos. Thanks for posting them Captain Warnecke!
Very interesting, as usual, thank you! So this uses full flap extension after touchdown for aerobraking, instead of spoilers? I've never seen that before.
Hi Scott, the "visual approaches" have been introduced to facilitate more traffic during busy times. Aircraft do not have to fly the standard instrument approach routes. You still remain in the IFR system, but you have to maintain visual contact to the airport at all times. If for any reasons you have to do a missed approach, you are still in the IFR system and the controllers can take care of you. An alternative would be to "cancel IFR" but from there it is not easy for ATC to accept you back in the IFR system, Happy Landings, Gudio

The use if checklists is essential. Too easy to forget vital things.
Happy landings,
Guido
A real pleasure watching your Videos and most importantly learning valuable lessons, thank you Captain Warnecke!
Glad you like them, Hunt.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
Amazing clarity on your camera, Captain! Again, your content is top notch 👍👍
Thank you!
Happy Landings,

I'm watching from Saudi Arabia, a very nice video, I enjoyed a lot, thank you
Greetings to Saudi Arabia.
I make frequent fuel stops in Riyadh.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
great video!
Hi Dave,
The Camera angle of the Video does not show everything in the cockpit.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
@@GuidoWarnecke exactly. emergencies (at least the first part) should always be memorized, then backed up when applicable. Great videos. Glad I found you!
I fly this plane in MSFS. Thanks for 11 minutes of gold!
You are very welcome Nino.
If you have any specific questions re Citation jet, feel free to send me an email via my web site.

You are very welcome Mark!
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
Always enjoy your videos. Your procedure walk through and self critiques are great reminders to do things right.
Thank you Jeff!
Aviation is a never ending learning process.
I also learn on every flight: big things, small things.
Important is to lear from own mistakes and mistakes from other pilot and trying to avoid them in the future.
Happy Landings,
Guido
It's been a while since I last saw one of your videos - I've missed them! Keep them coming sir.
Thank you!
More videos are on the works.
Happy Landings,
Guido
Nice info about AOA indicator and the threshold....happy landings
Thank you Chris.
Once you have flown with an AoA, you never want to fly without it.
Happy Lansings,
Capt. Guido
Great video and a great landing! Always nice to see a video from you!
Thank you very much!
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
As all other videos from you: This is like a lecture from a professor at the university teaching how to fly. Thank you sir!
Thank you - vielen dank Andreas.
Happy Landings,
Guido
If you watch this and don't learn something, your sound is clearly on mute and your screen is definitely off. Golden stuff here!
Thank you Shaheen!
Happy Landings,
Guido
It's the most informative and entertaining aviation video that I've seen so far. Bravo!
Thank you Vitalii.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido

Thank you Jean - muito obrigado!
Happy Landings,
Guido
Excellent camera angle plus the subtitles help me to understand more about the flight. Thank you.
Thank you Alex!
I am glad you liked the video.
Happy Landings,
Guido
Great video. I'm curious about the checklist calling for landing lights to be turned off soon after rotation. Would it not make more sense from a conspicuity point of view to have the landing lights remain on during the climb?
Hi Stephan,
that depends on the location of the landing lights. The King Air have them on the nose wheel, so with gear retraction they come off.
Some jets change from landing lights to pulse lights.
In general you are 100% correct to show lights and make you visible below 10,000ft.
Happy Landings,
Gudo
I love that you share the reasons behind all of the little details that make up a successful flight and I learn so much from each of your videos. Thanks for posting them Captain Warnecke!
You are very welcome!
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
Very interesting, as usual, thank you! So this uses full flap extension after touchdown for aerobraking, instead of spoilers? I've never seen that before.
That is correct.
Also the Hawker jet uses this system. They bring down the flaps even more.
Google this.
Happy Landings,
Guido
Absolutely fantastic and top quality, the real deal👍
Thank you!
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
@@GuidoWarnecke Thank you!!
Is there an advantage to staying on IFR even though you're manually flying w/ the airport in sight?
Hi Scott,
the "visual approaches" have been introduced to facilitate more traffic during busy times. Aircraft do not have to fly the standard instrument approach routes.
You still remain in the IFR system, but you have to maintain visual contact to the airport at all times.
If for any reasons you have to do a missed approach, you are still in the IFR system and the controllers can take care of you.
An alternative would be to "cancel IFR" but from there it is not easy for ATC to accept you back in the IFR system,
Happy Landings,
Gudio
This is excellent. I've been following for years. Truly professional airmanship!
Thank you Cameron and thanks for your loyalty to my UA-cam channel.

Love how you still critique yourself after all your flights! Good practice I wish we all did that!
Hi Kevin,
thanks for your comment.
Especially as a single pilot, one has to be very careful not to create bad habits.
Happy landings,
