  • We went and did a "regada" (help clean the school) in my old stumping ground to help prepare for the new school year.
We had a chance to try driving a tricycle around with our family. Watch our adventure as we try to live like Filipinos here in the Philippines.

We are John and Lora Moreno! We have 4 cute half-asian kids and we make videos all the time to show our friends around the world what our life is like. John grew up in the Philippines until he was 17 and Lora is a small town girl from Wyoming! We have videos about our relationship, including How we met, and how we raise our half filipino kids. We travel, we do fun projects, we homeschool our kids, and we have a strong faith in Jesus Christ that leads every aspect of our lives. Everyday is an adventure.

That was cool and a nice experience. Next time go visit the Mangyan Village too and perhaps bring some goodies for the school children like maybe school supplies?

It's good for your little one to experience school gardening. I wish we did that here in America. I learned how to garden in Pinas, and now as an adult here in Houston, I always look back at how I learned how to do this and appreciate it. School gardening in the Philippines was institutionalized as a program in 1974. Today, Gulayan sa Paaralan (Vegetable Gardens in School) is practiced to support the school feeding program and agriculture curriculum. I think this is an important experience for your kids and also good to see that it is still practiced because hunger, malnutrition, and high food price in the country are still a problem. I love it that you allowed this, Lori to experience Pinoy tricycles because they are the Filipinos' real "last mile" transport beasts of burden-cheap, reliable, and necessary. It is the go-to vehicle for any occasion. Filipinos use it to go to work, the market, school, and even use it for weddings and funerals in the barangays. As always, I love these videos. The only thing I wish that they were longer. but I know it is hard to upload a 20-minute HD/4K video in any country, especially in Pinas.

What a nice travelling experience riding in a tricycle, it's a practical and simple mode of transport only found in Philippines. Here you'll find how creative the Filipinos are. A tricycle could accommodate at least five passengers comfortably sitting. Again, only in Philippines. A motorcyle is a less gas consuming engine, 1 liter of gas could be a "back and forth" ride still with remaing gas in the tank. Here you'll find different experiences not found outside Philippines. You're now adopted to a Filipino culture and could possibly be fluent in our language in the long run. I'm not asking you to run.

As always, Reina is the star in the video. She is so adorable. Her smile is contagious. How nice and caring Eli carrying her baby sister. They are so nice to look at. They will love to see this video lookin back when they’re all grown up. Theo is so cute with his innocent gestures. Glad to see that your family enjoys the filipino lifestyle.
