Will be great to see this finished off (and a follow up video). We've seen a white 55 plate one of these before but the owner had squeezed a Ranger tailgate in!

I converted a ford escort van in 1978 to a pickup. The insurance man wasn't bothered about the conversion as it was still a commercial vehicle. I wanted to convert my Subaru legacy estate into a Ute . Before I did anything to it I went through the process of getting all the paperwork done . It was going to cost £400 and I couldn't be arsed . It comes down to points the body is classed as a chassis and if you change it your are fucked .

@@VannedUK US resident here. Our laws are significantly looser than in your country. I've been toying with the idea of something similar, with a full-size Transit. I want to use a short frame, and get ahold of a double cab with 4 swing-open doors. I want 4 bucket seats and two center consoles and a bed on the back. Four wheel drive.
That’s going to be a great project, and something a bit different, certainly won’t be a money pit , it will be great to see how it progresses over the next year…..👍🇮🇲

@@VannedUK I’m looking forward to next year and getting off the rock to a few van meets Dave, Ive just bought new under lights for the caddy, I’m ripping the old ones out in the new year, and I’m having the gloss black roof covered in a carbon wrap, instead of a re-spray, first job though is a full service in about 2 weeks , and then book her in for cambelt and water pump….it never ends 😂👍🇮🇲

Definitely drop a ST170 in it and put the exhaust pipes out the bed behind the cab with a nice wooden bed. Would look something else. Very unique van that I’m not a fire guy but I do have to say that could be something really nice 👌🏾

@@VannedUK yeah everyone is individual and have their own ideas or needs etc but I do like the unique individual style. Sometimes thinking out the box even if it doesn’t work can still provide some interesting outcomes. Can’t wait to see more videos.
Loved the wheel arches, should scrub up nicely with a trick paint job!

The seats are fiesta mk3 si 16v wing seat the cvh ones didn't have the wings and rs had recaro
