Great insights!! Totally on point. What makes us able to function in this area of media ministry is our ability to analyze the situation, formulate and initiate a plan, and then continue to work and refine the process. Not everyone is gifted with that mindset and dedication. Keep moving forward my friend!!
When do you receive the program information for your service. Ex. Hymn selections, announcements, praise music, Bible verses, Sermon title & information, names of who is doing what, ... I think I should have everything but the sermon information a week in advance and I should have the sermon information at least 2 days before service. I don't have a team that can help me prepare each week, but I do have people that help during service. Am I asking for too much too early and I should just have to wait 2 days or the night before to prepare? I've asked around some of the other churches and they tell me they sometimes get the information right before the service. Am I asking for a miracle?
It all depends as I have gotten stuff early (music) and then announcements I required a specific date because I was making the announcements. Now when it comes to the sermon, the preacher honestly might not know until that day. It is all about being flexible but have a goal you are aiming for no matter what happens.
For me everyone is good getting things to us except the pastor who emails it to us 8:30am or later Sunday morning. At that time we are setting everything up for the service and dealing with corrections. When I asked if he could give it to us the night before. I became the one with the bad attitude. So I guess I am the bad guy. BA Collier “ I pity the fool”.
Thank you for your feedback. My problem is we start our Sabbath School at 9:30am & I get there at 8:30am to setup after being at church until 10pm the night before running slides with the praise team.
