My main issue is that my computer lags (FPS drops low) whenever I'm playing - so I have to play so differently just to have an impact. If I hold an angle or go for a 50-50 aim duel, it's more like 99% chance loss, since the enemy sees me about 0.5 seconds before I do. One of my friends upgraded their computer and jumped from Bronze to Gold pretty much overnight, so sometimes it's a hardware issue that no amount of training/advice can address.
Look up some videos on how to optimize a low end laptop for valorant and see if that helps. I play on a shitty $400 laptop, it’s an intel i5 with 12gb ram and an integrated graphics card. I run around 100fps most of the time with very little processing delay. If there’s heavy util usage all at once, stuff like all of vipers util, Reyna’s blind, then it’ll drop to around 60. But I’m talking like 3-4 graphics heavy abilities at the same time. I run all my settings on low, I play on 4:3 resolution as well (1024x768) to help my performance. I could run it at native resolution but it feels way smoother, I probably avg 10+ more fps and way less drops. Probably would look weird if you have been playing for a while and switched but I did it 3-4 weeks after I started playing so it was no big deal. And then besides the in game settings you can also edit the config file, there are some settings in there for resolution quality, and you turn down the resolution quality for things like foliage, special effects like the skins (when I use the premium skins like glitch pop for example I instantly see a drop, and this setting makes it so all the little details in the skin aren’t as clear) basically I turn down the resolution quality on all of the stuff in the game that doesn’t matter to try and run it as best I can. And then they’ll also help you go through a crap ton of windows settings that will help you as well.
Lastly, don’t use windows 11 if possible. My game ran so much better before I did the upgrade. I should have went with “if it’s not broke don’t fix it” but I upgraded and it feels like this windows is harder on my laptop than windows 10, it’s that much of a difference in performance drops. And I’m pretty sure I was a dumbass and didn’t make a backup or anything so It’s going to be a pain for me to roll back.
@@joemiller2205 I run $200 laptop *shrugs* basically everything is optimized - as low quality as it goes.
Same bro with trash Internet 😭
i live far away from closest server so my ping is about 90-110
relatable
Doing something wrong w your computer, this game can run on a pen and paper lol, I have a high end build at my house, but I'm a truck driver, so on the road I use a Lenovo IdeaPad... yea, that's not a good laptop and it's not meant for gaming. I still run 100fps+ and the display is awful, plus only 60 hz. Whatever you have, you can run val smoothly, there's just something wrong, maybe background apps drawing too much cpu usage. This game is very cpu heavy, meaning you don't need a 3090 to achieve super high fps. That being said, you don't need an outstanding cpu either, but you may need to take some load off of it
2:26 "Plant has been spiked" got me dyin
I may not be using the service you guys offer, but watching your videos on youtube really did help me, ranking up from Silver 1 to Gold 2. It's not a massive improvement, but it's enough for me to say that you guys are the best! I haven't found anyone that give tips as helpful as you guys!
wow thats amazing!!! congrats on hitting gold!!

I think the raw aim duels thing is something that is problematic not just for low elo but especially for people like me that come from a decade of other shooters like CS. The problem is, we win those duels more often than not, yet it still is the number one reason for us to die. It is such a bad habit, that unfortunately even gets rewarded and makes climbs harder than they should be until. What I experienced is not even that I start losing those battles, I still win more than I lose, even on high elo but instead, the enemy players become smart enough to not take those duels anymore. So the only raw aim duels I get are those heavily rigged against me.
Yes, in low elo once you win a few duels, the enemy will start to avoid u or at least use some utilities to stop u. Ofc once in a while you have some stubborn ones who will force the fight anyways.
u forgot the habit of reloading after firing 1 bullet
Just dont do it. Also you can cancel a reload by switching to your knife and then switching back to the weapon your were reloading.
Thanks bro. This was really helpful
THANKS FOR such an amazing video! ♥
To piggyback off of economy management. Every round when you're buying you should press tab and check the enemy's money too to see what guns they're likely to have.
Eco players must buy cheap guns, which are generally only effective at very close ranges.
This means you should avoid close engagements or at least be very aware when approaching one.
Also, go with a teammate so you don't give your expensive gun to the enemy team for free when you die.
"the plant has been spiked" love it
i am gonna shout now "SPIKE THE PLANT!"
You guy helped me climb from iron to d2 I’n 4 months

I completely agree, I'm too low elo player, but I'm changing these habits, but still can't normally rank up, cuz most of my games I have instalock reynas or jetts that goes like 6/21 or sum like that
1 weird thing I've noticed is if you change the gun to left-handed (whatever is the opposite of what you use) it can trick your brain into playing smart and using new strategies
2:27, "The plant has been spiked." lol
one most important is counting the enemies and map awareness with this you will know how many enemies you may expect in the site or got a basic knowledge where many may be.
I am very guilty of bad economy.
Thanks for pointing that out.
I also have go say, that getting a better refresh rate monitor is extremely helpful.
I went from 60hz to 144hz and the difference is scary. I play with much more confidence because i know i an capable of winning a 1v1. Even when i used a flash i rarely won duels. Now it's a piece of cake most of the time.
What i find infuriating while playing is people playing as if their life depends on it. They play as if they can't die and trade. After 1 shot from enemies they run and die because the get stunned.
Don't be a coward. Think when you can't back off.
I generally buy the revolver second round when I win lol, now I know I shouldn't do that
+cuz the revolver is pretty annoying to use cuz I never hit head with it
@@cart8909 Recently i decided to stop buying in the second round after all.
If i win i am much more comfortable with my ghost and small shields rather than a spectre or stinger. It may be a bad decision but i have been killed way to many times by weapons my team dropped after forcing the 2nd round.
Id rather play vs enemy force with pistols and fight long range than risk mid/close range.
Very happy that Ive heard when I first started playing Valorant that you should always place your crosshair at head height of the enemies. Saved me lots of hours
THE PLANT HAS BEEN SPIKED
Your guys video help me alot becase i was abel to break a habit of crouch spray
Thx alot
2:26 I love when the plant has been spiked
When the plant has been spiked XD
One of my biggest issues is I try to push too much and force myself to trigger finger without making sure my aim is steady. i usually play flank with neon, I rush and miss, or they hear me before I can position. I've had to learn not to focus so much on fragging that I forget the basics.
One major issue is when I start to spray I move the crosshair too low
This bad habit started in 2017 when I started playing csgo and now I have it în Valorant
I started to control it better, but the bad habit still exists
Maybe lowering your mouse sensibility will haver an impact on the vertical movement as you adapt more easily to horizontal movement
take your time when shooting. adjust your crosshair to the enemy's head and then shoot. thank me later
@@everythingyash4778 Yeah thats pretty smart! I usually take a water break in the middle of a fight
Also depending on what gun you’re using, learning to tap shoot instead of spraying helps a TON. If you’re using a bulldog, vandal, or phantom, the most amount of bullets that should come out at a time should be about 3. It allows for easier crosshair correction if you miss and helps you focus on keeping that crosshair up and not over correcting by pulling too far down
I am s1, just came back from a big break and I think there is another big issue in low elo *
(That's I also have) is the mental and the comms, most people will just be quiet and talk only to insult. But you NEED to give comms at the team, so they can play with you
Omg finally a video that actually helped instead of just saying aim better
I am still a total noob at valorant but i totally agree on round 2 on buying big guns half armor. I am currently studying to master Ares. Most players hate it for its weight but the fire power is insane (even the mag!). But theres always the caveat of giving the enemy free power for next round if your team loses.😅
dont that won't help with raw aim focus on using headshot guns ;)
I wouldn't recommend using ares since it's a pretty weak gun, use spectre/stinger/sheriff instead but it's your choice
Ty for the tips
My aim is normally to low
I’m iron 2 with 10 aces
I'm not even lvl 20 and these videos help so much
2:27 "...and the plant has been spiked..." Hahahaha
Being scared to push was my stressing issue with my teams, so i decide to main fade/cypher
I can't even begin to tell you how often I lose games on attack rounds when we dump util onto site so I of course push only to realise I was the only one who pushed and when I die I get to watch my team mates die one by one, after exhausting their util they just sit there like a clay pigeon or at best they try unfavorable peeks one by one. Totally not frustrating at all, especially when they blame me for dying early.
the sova going for the knife kill and then go back to the reload kills me 😂😂😂😂😂
I started playing Valorant recently and I play Viper mostly, throw a wall and storm the site and then usually the team follows. I practice aim in deathmatch and hard bots. But I don't want to go play ranked until I am as good as I want to become.
I did notice I aim too low because of fear of not hitting the head.
2:25 he says " only after the plant has been spiked" lmaoo
1. I watch one video many times where a smurf brim plays ascent, and shows how you have to be the 2nd man, so when a full team can't push one site, and get flanked by waiting too long, don't be any man 1st or 2nd, start roaming solo cause there is nothing good to do with the team who are stuck one site, even tho you used utilities for push. Low elo teammates are sometimes bad so think some ideas or take some and write it down.
2. I used to aim low, now it feels pretty good to headshot continuously by staring one door while being safe. Low elo players do have bad brain capacity to remember to aim higher, so write it down and revise each time what or when to do or aim higher before starting match.
3. raw aim duels are personal issues, whoever wants to duel with or without utilities are their concern, i sometime want to save utilities for later after spike plant, but ending up dying, its weird to remember when to use or not in low elo.
4. not knowing what to do is similar to thinking about "aim on the head", you just have to remember it by keeping notes and revising before matches, cause low elo players have bad brain to remember anything.
1:49 I can tell the people who did that for this video had some fun with it haha.
Good points
what do you use to record your valorant gameplay?
2:20 Did anyone else notice that he said "When the plant has been spiked"? I'm trying to learn how to get better so I'm listening to this on repeat and heard it the 2nd time through 😂
Reloading after every duel would also be beating a dead horse, but probably still an issue lots of players have.
I get better over time today and the day before I was just tapping heads
2:26 Plant Has been Spiked 😂
I am surprised comms wasnt mentioned here. Ya, mechanics can take you up a few ranks but at some point you need to make good calls.
This would be helpful if my teammates also new this (I live in Asia)
2:27) "only if the plant has been spiked"
"The plant has been spiked" 😂😂😂
I'm gonna share my experience with you guys. I have been hard stuck in gold 2,3. But recently i have pushed to diamond 3 almost hitting ascendent now and the main difference i saw in these low elo ranks are lack of communication. Every little detail helps you and your teammates so even if it seems unnessesary just open your mic and say so.
FOR AIM TIPS :
IF YOU DONT KNOW WHERE THE HEADLINE IS
YOU CAN GO SEE THE STACKED BOXES
THE LINE BETWEEN THE BOX ARE NORMALY THE HEADLINE
i do all those except for the last one
My tennis coach always said: "Perfect practice makes perfect!"

2:28 "and the plant has been spiked"
I know to keep my crosshairs at head level but it’s always still a little low and I’m hitting in the body by inches and I can’t seem to fix it 😂
i trained for years to get cross hair placement down. it takes so long to master
i mean i am not low elo but it 100% would be helpful when i was pushing through it
2:25 „The plant has been spiked“
2:26 "the plant has been spiked" 💀💀💀
As a bronze 2 I’m extremely good at keeping my crosshair at head level, however my problem is crosshair placement. My crosshair is just never where the enemy ends up being, and my flicking is still lacking so I usually end up dying first. I’ve watched so many videos on improving crosshair placement but I just never seem to improve much. :’) even when I do pre aim spots which I try to do a lot, I usually end up being off by some degree and dying first still. I
As a fellow Bronze that played with a bunch of Silver and Gold courtesy of me being pressured to play by friends(lol)
What i heard from the conversation about crosshair placement is "Think of which Agent is pushing you then adjust, is it chamber he might just peek and tele back, Jett? Expect her to dash or updraft" Also don't think too much on "Where they will go" You might give yourself a Paralysis Analysis and ended up not shooting, also Pre-firing can be Risky while it will reward you some kills it also expose where you are so if the enemy doesn't see you or notice you yet it's better to let them in think it's safe and pop their heads off. Also before you go in an Aim Duel use the first round to gauge your enemies Aim lvl and see if you can win in direct confrontation or not.
I have good crosshair placement, good economy, sometimes scared to rush but i lose cause they react faster and someone always gets 25+ 34 kils last match in enemy team
Bro really roasted me in the softest/ most professional way possible.
Gotta love 3 duelists on your team yet none of them push in. And you as omen pop smokes then just zero care rush in
he said "and the plant has been spiked" XD
My main issue is that im always with bad teammates, and my opponents are diamond peak at best or smurfs while i get the bad teammates
me when pushing:
spots an enemy and my computer freezes, and then im dead

I figured crouch crutching would be on here. I just can’t seem to break the habit. Literally crouching every gunfight to help with recoil
Just unbind it

I'm stuck at silver 1 and silver 3. I'm an old man and I think it takes a couple of hours more to learn new things but I'm still having fun, even if I'm losing rounds.
8:11 what crosshair are u using?
With SMGs you actually want to aim a bit lower than the head because the recoil
For me ima raze main I a with 3 people and I get them to play Skye viper and the viper uses lineups for rat spots Skye flashes then satchul in ez 3k
Thanks I got from Iron 1 to Iron 2
In your gameplay clips it kinda looks like your crosshairs are dragging from left to right sometimes, is that a setting or something?
so true 1st point xd
What is that crosshair colour
Once upon a time in Gold and Plat i see alot of my duelist is trying to chase Defender spawn to kill them all by unnecessary after we planted and they never wait for Initiator to clear some common angles they just dash or teleport or wall and run to site and instantly die like an idiot
global elite starting valorant 2 days ago, I'm curious where I rank, cause I don't know stuff but win all the duels :D
I’m silver/bronze and I think I sometimes lower my crosshair and take 50/50 duels not really all of the bad habits
Spike planted :
My team: This is a perfectly good opportunity to throw your life away
We still have no solo ranked
"Plant has been spiked" 2:26
2:27 the plant has been spiked
2:25 "...and the spike has been planted."***
Well sometimes it's better to just hold main and not entry to bait their util. Because you still have time.
I went from plastic to diamond
idk if its just me but when i spray with any gun i aim too low so it hits the feet's and im trying to fix it
I tell to my team, just press W, it's a good strat and works well to push on site, dont''t be scared, it's just a game :D
im hardstuck b2 and when i play really well my team is either afk or trolling or someone who just started playing or the enemy team is full of smurfs and now with the start of the new act i started playing against ex plat , how is that fair?
I am not scared to push i always do the entrys even tho im a viper main bc i think my team will follow me but they decide to sit in spawn and then once i get site while having 20 hp they plant the spike on the other side of the map and then die and the enemies ninja defuse the spike while my teqm is scream at me for not being able to kill them across the map
sounds like you problem.
Why are you going alone on opposite site with controler and the spike is not even on you?
How about saving a sherif from pistol when your team buys to op round 3 and tilt the enemies to victory
That economy management is so important.
I have seen players going 3-12 in a switch, winning pistol after switch and buying ghost with small armor.
Like man? your aim is not at point already what are you gonna contribute with a ghost? BUY A SPCTR!
1 habit thats holding you back in low elo:
1. Getting queued against lvl300 players when you just started 2 hours ago
but in iron, duelists dont push. they take spike, sit behind everyone, and wait. I have had multiple duelists say that they are going to watch flank. I main cypher (and sentinels in general) so I literally can't push site as well as a duelist can, but often have to. What should I do in these situations?
Either try a new agent, or play differently. Try to flank
