Love your videos. I've NEVER seen a ship on Bayou St. John like the one shown at the beginning. But apparently back in the day it was a regular thing. This is a ten minute walk from my house and I did not know much of this history. Thanks.
Wonderful video!!! I’d certainly love to make it a point to spend some time there to explore the city. Most of my time in New Orleans was spent in and out of the children’s hospital as a kid, though born and raised in West Baton Rouge. Living in Kansas City now, and yet again home sick watching your videos. Keep up the great work!
Our pleasure, Madeline. Thanks again for watching! If you know of anyone else who might also enjoy these videos, please share us with them. We would really appreciate that! Thank you.
Thanks for watching our videos, Bill! If you know of anyone else who might also enjoy these videos, please share us with them. We would really appreciate that! Thank you.
Loved the kayak tour but I’m so terrified of alligators I’d be a nervous wreck the whole time! Lol, my partner and I have came into New Orleans from Biloxi on hwy 90 a few times and although it’s a beautiful drive I always tell him, if we get a flat I’m not getting out! That’s just me, other people who have been with us appreciate what a wonderful drive hwy 90 truly is.
Up to the end of the 40's there were boat and ship repair facilities along the bayou. Also, the silver "trees" at the Galatoire house were from the Wonderwall of the 1984 World's Fair. No mention of the Pitot House or the "Spanish Customs House" and other ante bellum homes?
This would be so much fun. Thank you so much for the great tours... I love all the scenery, homes, and the history of Louisiana, especially New Orleans. I love alligators. I collect alligator figurines
Glad that you enjoyed this, David! If you know of anyone else who might also enjoy this video, please share us with them. We would really appreciate that! Thank you.

I lived in the area during the mid to late 80s and loved it. (on Harding at Dumaine) I understand there was much destruction in this area during Katrina. How bad was it? Thanks for the info!
Thanks for the comment! We actually have a virtual tour covering some of the most notable sites related to Hurricane Katrina. Here's Part 1: ua-cam.com/video/1a4Q58lQH8U/v-deo.html And here is Part 2: ua-cam.com/video/wjUMKOsjxBs/v-deo.html
Why!?! Andrew why!?! I started kayaking a year ago and I fell in love with the sport. Google Turnip Rock, Port Austin MI on Lake Huron. I recently went there. I paddle every chance I get too, depends on the weather of coarse. Anyways, I ask why because like I’ve mentioned before my sig. wants to move to NOLA. 🤦🏻♀️ Another reason he’ll put on the pro list. Hahaha! Yet again another flipping awesome vid. !
Unless you fell on top of one, you have nothing to worry about. There aren't as many alligators in the city's waters as there are outside the city limits.

You should come down for a visit.

Lived just a few blocks from the Bayou in Gentilly just off of Filmore. Till a couple of month ago. Loved the water & the neighborhood.
We hope our video did the area justice in your eyes.

You would be safe. The alligators stay to themselves and there aren't that many in the bayou.

Should have mentioned the bayou boogaloo
Valid point.
what about alligators ...... are they in that water ?????
There are a few relatively small and frightful alligators in Bayou St. John.
😍
My feelings are completely hurt. I want to do this but you must pay for 2 paddlers. I wish I had a twin
Contact them and see if you can be put on a list for solo paddlers to be paired with other solo paddlers.
Love Bayou St. John. Don't go in the water, there's gators in there!!!

Are u single?
If you are referring to Andrew, then no.
😂 Can’t blame a girl (or boy) for tryin’!
