      I don’t have any problems with a rope seal, but this time I’ve tried the new style.

    Could it be the Dalmik semmering you are installing. It can, but asbestos ropes are better when properly installed and when the crankshaft does not have a large axial clearance. That semmering also seals well, but it can also cut into the crankshaft where the spiral oil deflector is.

      That is your opinion. I have been using the rope seal for the last 35 years, and the updated version since it was released.
      And I never have any problems, with the to types of crank seals.
