    G'day Lance. Things disappear when I work on them also. I bet the last guy had my kind of luck.

      I figure that's why you guys record your work. So you can either remember what you were doing, or prove your sanity when something is not there during re-assembly :-)

      Well it certainly helps, I do look back to check things at times.

    Looking good Lance, by the way, my wife is in Australia somewhere on a holiday for three weeks, I should have gone with her.

    Ive tinned the backside of thrust bearings to adjust the gap

  • @oldironfarming5804
    @oldironfarming5804 5 років тому +2

    The wear on the thrust washer surfaces would be due to the pressure from disengaging the clutch I suppose?

    • @BundyBearsShed
      @BundyBearsShed  5 років тому

      Yes I would imagine so and when you start your tractor with your foot on the clutch before it has built up oil pressure.

    Hi lace. I notice your main crank cap bolts had no lock tabs to begin with but you added some after. Do these need to be added or was it an after thought you had. Also does the bolt torque remain the same when their added. Reason I ask is my engine hasn’t got tab washers but I am wondering if I should add them. Great work as usual lance.

    • @BundyBearsShed
      @BundyBearsShed  3 роки тому +1

      I think they should have had them but the tension stays the same. The tension is worked out on bolt stretch I believe.

      @@BundyBearsShed Thanks for the response . I might add them while I am at it so.

    Are oversize thrust bearings available if a person wanted to decrease the end play?

    • @BundyBearsShed
      @BundyBearsShed  5 років тому +1

      G Day Dave, Yes Sparex have a 0.0075" oversize thrust available but none in Australia and Quality Tractor Parts in Ireland have a set of 0.007" genuine Perkins available and as I have a QTP order going in I will order some 0.007" oversize ones. 0.007 seems an odd size like I thought 0.005" may be but the 0.007 will put me right at the low end so ideal really.

    Ciao Lance, I missed your explanation about how I can recognize which type of seals the crankshaft has by looking at the engine serial nr...

    • @BundyBearsShed
      @BundyBearsShed  5 років тому +1

      Usually if the engine number has an L at the end it is a lip seal.
