Pimpin. Love the work buddy. Been a minute since I turned some wrenches but this project has given me some Ideas. I found me one on the cheap. Now piecing together the parts.
Now this is a cool build! The 3800’s are seriously slept on and to see a twin turbo build is really dope, I had an 05 FBO Grand Prix GTP and it was so damn fun to drive so I’m betting your Camaro is gonna be a blast.
I’m planning a l67sc Chevy s10 with either a th400 or 4l80e fed into a awd transfer case from a 2017 suburban/trailblazer

I'm surprised Dan didn't tell you to get at least a few wot pulls in a few gears like 2nd 3rd and 4th so that he could see the timing and KR activity, and MAF readings.

Look into the AR5 or R154 trans w/ a 96-00 Dakota bellhousing for when the T5 breaks. It should bolt to the 3800. Might need to work some input shaft magic.

Me : Nothing 3 pieces of electrical tape can't fix 👍 I've had my 96' Polo green RS for almost 23 years now , still perfect condition. I'm fighting over LS swap or a serious built v6 only to be something more unique. Years ago I looked into the STS rear mount systems. But now where technology is almost any 4 , 6 or 8 can be built insane. My plates will say " NO CAP "

Could be the rear unit itself, they’re known for having issues, see what you can find first, something could be too loose or too tight, but worst case new rear units are easy to get and easy to install

Bro you need a poly trans mount, I can tell you are using the stock one, you'll rip it in half the first time you get on it
Looking at doing a 4.3 twin turbo for 2nd gen camaro and 5 speed with .86 overdrive.
Mind sharing the base tune file ? I have mgb I'm single turboing a 3800 in and I wouldn't mind a base to start with. Thanks.

Looking good man! Shouldn’t be long and you will be full throttle. Only bad thing about tuning, it takes a while but once it’s done it’s done.

You should look into the t56 swap for this . I dont see the t5 being reliable for very long with any real power going on. If you google warshrike t56 swap it should pop up . He had to get an adapter plate but didnt have to swap clutch or anything else .
How hard is it to build a 3800 I have a 3.8l I want to rebuild probably since it's more expensive to engine swap it

Awesome. So, is this car figured out and finalized? Would be nice to just have a dedicated kit to turbo these cars or cars with these motors in the. Cheap and plentiful little motors
I did finish it but Spun the bearing before finished tuning in the slow process of sending engine to the shop but they sell a turbo kit on eBay for the Camaro with this engine

brooo i have a z28 n a v6 both the same miles lol. My z28 needs lifters n my v6 i bought with a dead headgasket n auto... Im kinda thinking to build both of them instead of getting a trans am and building one with a lq lol. Do you like your twin set up or would you rather have gone supercharged or single turbo lol. Im hoping ill be able to manual swap mine but im young n got so much experiece to be desired haha!
My other question is what steering wheel mount do you have and is it a quick release lol. My old neighbor gave me a momo and I realyl wanna put it on

I had twin turbos on my 98 ws6 v8 much fun ! There off now wished I had put a supercharger instead don't run as hot
Just a small heads up if ya haven’t tried it yet. Buy get som magnet sheet and cut out the size to fit the vent in the hood, that’s if it or the hood is metal😁

I wanna turbo mine and from the looks it wants a turbo lol both exhaust outlets are right there on the side of the engine same way as intake

Lookin to a electric supercharger. Speed master p2 with a castle 2028 motor hobbywing esc controller it will give you 150hp on wide open throttle runs off 2 small battery packs maybe 3/4 of a pound. Alex is the guy that spent 10grand developing it. He dynoed his at 650hp no turbos just the electric supercharger. It will help you with the turbo lag. Price is 1500 for everything

@@DeeStruggles no problem, the reason why is because it isn't controlled by the PCM. My Terminator X powered 98 has the abs light on still lol
Not the SES light that’s for the PCM ...but Is your service vehicle light on as well from what I’ve researched it will come on when your ABS is disabled because it’s connected to the BCM body control modular ??
@@DeeStruggles not on my car, I have manual brakes with no ABS at the moment all I get is abs inop from the wheel speed sensors and brake light. 98 cars are weird though so if yours is a 99+ it may be different. 98s had different fuel tanks, different various sensors, cluster, and I don't remember if the V6 cars are the same as the ls1 cars.. but the 98 LS cars like mine got a totally different PCM and PCM harness than the 99-02 cars.

Proud for you. Lot of work that many would say is a waste BC its not an LSX. Power and TQ isnt the only thing that matters. If you cant enjoy it then its useless. Glad for you bud.
Well, the 3800 is basically a v6 LS, so it has the power and torque just fine, just 2 less cylinders n such

Shouldn’t the data logging process included full throttle operation to determine the state of tune at engine speeds where an improper tune would do the most damage ?
