  • We’ve all been there- you have client who is persistent about wanting Microblading, but they have oily skin. What’s the worst that could happen? Here is a great example of how this will heal. I’ve also included a brief explanation on how to correct during the touch up.
    Reach out with any questions!

I did combination brows I’m oily ….I think it’s the better option rather than just microblading

Omg thank you for this post! I just had a client with oily skin and that's exactly what happened 😫. It even looked like the skin got peeled off. Now I know what to do after reading all the comments. 😫

No one is talking about this except for you. I just got mines micro bladed - about 8 days ago. For the first few days they were great but since my scabs have fallen off, I’m really disappointed.

You’re still in the healing stages at this point. Don’t worry! After the scabs fall your brows should be pretty faded. It’ll take another week for the pigment to resurface. Your body produced new skin cells over the pigment. It takes a around a week for those skin cells to become more translucent. Ask all the questions during your touch up. Your artist should reassure you 💕

@@browbeautybyvictoria thank you for responding, it’s reassuring to know. My skin is oily, so I brought that concern up to her beforehand and she said it shouldn’t be an issue but I still had my doubts. Anyway, thanks so much again for your response.

@@NotLikeUs17 definitely ask for shading if you go back to the same artist for your touch up. Best of luck to you love!

@@browbeautybyvictoria what would you recommend for darkskin oily skin??

@@Asfghjahsgf powder brows/shading and/or nano strokes for sure. 😊 I honestly don’t think the skin tone makes a huge difference. Your artist should just have the correct pigments for your skin tone.

I got my eyebrows microbladed 4 weeks ago and wish I knew how bad my retention was going to be with having oily skin before I spent a lot of money on it. I followed the aftercare that was given to me and wondered why I saw 0 pigment underneath. I was still patient and gave them time for the pigment to resurface. Some came through but I don’t see any strokes.. just very light ink that looks like a tint under my existing hair. I’m wondering if it’s even worth it to do the touch up.. it’s in April.

I’m sorry to hear this! There are some things that can be done. You can ask them to add shading. I know many are afraid of how “unnatural” it can look, but soft shading throughout strokes heals BEAUTIFULLY- I promise! You can also ask for machine strokes and ask for them use organic pigments(but add a neutrazlier in it).
If you’re oily and are using the wet healing mothod, I would use as little ointment as possible.

How about combination brows? Is it not effective for oily skin as well?

I’m on day 17 since my first session…and I see nothing! Will the pigment come eventually or never? What’s another alternative to micro blading for ppl with oily skin 😢

Hi there! Likely, not. When you go back in for a touch up you should ask for shading or a powder brow. You can even ask your artist if she’s trained in machine strokes. This is essentially microblading with a tattoo machine that would yield the same results as microblading, but better for oily skin!
