The Shindes, the Holkars, the Bhosales, the Gaikwads etc etc sided with the East India company and in lieu of their support these houses are still surviving and now they are in politics, holding cream positions.
Dr. Puniyani sir, first of all I salutes your honest speaking and being in this field though Sir you are medical field having MD degree had been medical superintendent of IIT hospital Bombay and from well placed rich family and generally personality like yours from upper castes have seen rare working for down trodden communities. I joined IIT Bombay during 1985 and you gave me medical fitness certificate for joining IIT Bombay subject to all medical reports. I have no words for your praises and honesty you decided to change life style of down trodden communities. Sir, now at present I am practicing advocate at Mumbai and very much appreciation for you. Wishing you a Happy long life and shall be highly obliged if I can be of any use in your this movement. 🙏

All the royals who sided with the British became Rajas, Maharajas, Nawabs, ....totally 563 of them. Those patriots who fought against the Brits, .... Veerapandya Kataboman,, Velu Thampy Dalawa, Tipu Sultan, Rani Lakshmibhai of Jhansi, Tantia Tope, Nawab of Banda( great grandson of Peshwa Baji Rao I and Mastani), Bahadur Shah Zafar, Nana Saheb of Bithoor, ... were all destroyed.
They lost because they were not united.

श्रधेय, 1857 की लड़ाई में , जन साधारण या किसान सामिल नहीं थे. यदि ऐसा होता, तो यह लड़ाई हम अवश्य जीत लेते. इस लड़ाई में केवल पेशवा ब्राह्मण और मुगल सम्राट के साथ उनके अधीन कुछ राजा इसलिए लड़ रहे थे कि, केवल वे ही आजाद हो जाएं और देश पर शासन करें. वे देश की जनता को आजादी और उनके मानवीय अधिकार देने के लिए तैयार नहीं थे.
लड़ाई के दौरान,अंग्रेजों को यह पता चला कि इन लोगों के साथ भारत की प्रजा नहीं है, तो उन्होंने इन तथाकथित देश भक्तों कुचल दिया और धीरे धीरे सारे देश पर कब्जा कर लिया. धन्यवाद!
1857 की क्रांति मे किसान जमीदार सैनिक और भारतीय राजे महाराजे सभी शामिल थे... ये कोई एक वर्ष का असंतोष नही था बल्कि सिल सिलेवार तरीके से EIC के दमन का परिणाम था... किसान तो प्रमुखता से सामिल थे...

I was recently accosted by a colleague on sikhs fighting in easr india company against the freedom fighters of 1857 .
So , for info . of you all out there with similar view , in 1846 rest of india fought in east india company army againt an independent , sovereign Punjab , and helped the foreigner enslave punjab .
1857 was inevitable .

सच तो ये है कि हमारे महाराज फ़कीर साहब ने ही 1857 के युद्ध की प्रेरणा दी थी। नाना व लक्ष्मीबाई को तलवार और तात्या टोपे को तोप चलाना महाराज ने ही सिखाया था। महाराज खुद घोड़े की लगाम दांतों में दबा कर दोनों हाथों से तलवार चलाते हुए अंग्रेजों का सफाया करते रहे। आज एक भी अँग्रेज़ देश में बचा है क्या?

1576 Battle of Haldighati Rana Pratap lost and fled into the jungle. Rana Pratap had fought so fiercely with his much smaller army that Man Singh & other Muslim generals did not dare to chase him. For the next 5 years Akbar sent armies under Man Singh & other generals annually but failed to subdue or capture Rana Pratap. He was the originator of guerilla warfare. Angered by repeated failure, Akbar demoted Man Singh.
By 1582, Rana Pratap had won the support of the Bhil tribals who lived in the forest. A rich businessman named Bhama Shah provided funds to Rana to expand his army and train the Bhils. In 1582 Rana Pratap attacked Mughals and in the famous Battle of Dewair routed the Mughals. The general Bahlol Khan was slayed by Rana himself. Huge number of Mughal soldiers surrendered. Rana won back most of the territories lost 6 years earlier. Akbar never sent another army against Rana Pratap while he lived (for 20 years). Why is the Battle of Dewair 1582 missing from all our history books? Because these history materials were originally prepared by McCulay & Max Muller's historians. And after independence, the Romilla Thapars & Irfan Habibs continued to belittle Indians.
British rulers certainly supported the Christian missionaries as they preached Christianity in South, tribal areas & Nort-East. In the jungles of Orissa, it angered one king of Jashpur. The Raja Saheb, who was a keen hunter, personally shot dead 2 missionaries who were converting tribals. For that the Raja was banned from entering his kingdom for many years by order of the British crown.
In defence of the British policy of converting Indians it can be said that they used money, power & promise of better life. Did not use force, threat & torture like the inhuman Portugese Catholics of Goa (1510 to 1820) or the bigoted Muslim rulers.

सर आप दोनो की इतिहास की जानकारी सराहनिय है। पर कयी बार आप भी चूक जाते है। रोटी आंदोलन को फेल करवाने वाला ही। मंगल पांडे था। जब पता था रोटी आंदोलन की तैयारी पूरे देश मे हो रही थी तो ये जानकर के गोलियो मे चर्बी का इसतेमाल होता है। उसने ये जानकर ना सोचा ना जाना और रात मे ही विद्रोह कर सारा रोटी आंदोलन फेल कर दिया वो ब्राह्मण था इस लिऐ आज भी उसे एक हिरो की तरहा दिखाया जा रहा। जब की जय चन्द जो एक सच्चा देश भक्त था उसे बदनाम कर देशद्रोही बना दिया
