I live in Socal n I do owned a same bike as yours. Bought mine last year in November, love this bike... I can definitely tell ya this is a money pit bike due to endless mods... lol. Be safe man
My low rider s has less than 3k on the odometer and is currently on its third motor. First time was a small bearing coming loose and getting caught in the oil pump gear (torched the inside of the motor) . Second time was a defect in the replacement motor Harley sent out. Had a crack in the spark plug threads. Needless to say I’ve had a constant break in period 😂
No, took a couple weeks to fix and it’s been good since. Have about 1200 miles now, as I live up north so not much riding right now. Full exhaust and bars and such. No issues. You can clear codes with the dash if they pop up to see if they reappear.

For what it's worth Twinkies are dirt cheap if you want a bike to abuse & Evo's are tops if you want a rebuildable 100k bike....but you wont be doing a lot of wheelies on those. Still, if you have $18k to spend...have fun when it's fixed.
You might find that Filtering and Splitting is Only Permitted Under 20 Mph..in US ,,As for us in AU Its 30 km/pH. Also Always keep your Right foot on Rear brake and Be in 1st gear watching your back plus Ready to go As Soon as the Lights Change.. Just Something they should have Taught you . And Definitely SLOW DOWN ... Plus I'd say your Tire pressure is too High..Run 32 psi 36..The Gauges Are Perfect with Open face Helmet.

I know the general consensus in California is that there is no specific speed stated, other than the requirement to follow the speed limit posted. But in reality most people tend to break the speed limit! Lol you should post a video riding in AU, I’d love to check it out!

Busted compensator during the break in period? Never seen that before, although I have seen some guys who dump the clutch or ride aggressive break theirs when they go stage 2 or 3 and leave the stock compensator. Were you dumping the clutch?
Right, the dealership said they've never seen that before. That's the only thing they know to say. They say that about everything. Now ask around and you'll here of alot of compensator problems. Lane splitting may be legal but that's how you die. It's hard enough for drivers to see bikes forget about getting that close to them A holes. Ride safe.
For Harley to basically blame you for the bike braking down is sick. I had a Harley a few years ago and got rid of it due to constant mechanical issues. I admit Harley makes a beautiful product, but it lacks in reliability.
Having your new bike out of comission sucks. I hit a deer with my Fat Bob S same day i picked it up. Had 210 miles on it when I hit the deer. First new harley ever, and first deer I ever hit.

It was low speed maybe 45mph. I hit it, knocked the deer down. Then ran it over. It got stuck between the wheel and frame. Dumped me in the road.

Right! I’d say the pegs sit about a foot from the ground, the front mustache bar sits a little higher since it slopes at the bottom, and the rear sliders probably about a foot and a half. I haven’t scraped yet
Google your Local Filtering Speed laws as I just Did and you'll find they're about to Drop below 10 mph ,Also filtering is Only Allowed between Vehicles travelling less than 20 or 30 mph..
Everything I’ve ever read mentioned suggestions, such as “Motorcyclists should avoid lane splitting when surrounding traffic is moving at 30 miles per hour or faster.”, not necessarily enforcing that. The only “illegal” act I’ve been able to find is simply riding in the shoulder lane and of course speeding overall. Unfortunately, even behind the wheel of my car I tend to speed like a lot of other people, so if I get pulled over I’ll have to accept the ticket and take the blame.
Unacceptable quality control at HD. I've owned 4 Evo Harleys (all great), would not buy a new HD until I'm convinced HD has reached (or very near) Japanese levels of reliability and quality control - not for the money they ask. Same applies to Indian - owned a new 2015 Scout for five years - will never buy a Polaris-Indian again after that "experience". Again quality control and reliability were the issues.
Completely agree. I was seriously considering a used dyna, but thought “I’ll play it safe and get a new one with a warranty” so had to laugh when it broke down. At least the warranty was there.

I had an unlimited mile five year warranty on the 2015 Scout but sold it just before the warranty ran out - a frustratingly fickle bike, even with a great warranty and equally great (and supportive) dealers! Ironically I sold an utterly reliable 97 Superglide with tons of character for a souless Polaris-Indian Scout.

If the bike is not what you want to keep, my tip is trade in while it still has some warranty left, it WILL make a difference on trade in price. As for me, I have a 69 Triumph Trophy 500 and a 2019 Kawasaki Versys 650 (the story is, the Indian dealer also sold new Kawasakis and I was so fed up with the Scout after 5 years of "giving it one more chance", I just wanted utter reliability to tour with, which I wanted badly and got with the "No malarkey Kawasaki"...lol). I may buy another Evo HD for fun....nothing against Harleys at all!

My m8 shut off at 900 miles at random on highway and at red light. Harley has the bike right now and it's not throwing a code. So they are going to call corporate and see if there is something else they can do. NO CODE NO FIX THEY SAY. did your bike throw a code?
@@alexportnoff yea so I got my bike back from the dealer I bought the bike from. They called the corporate office, they said it had to be a bad batch of gas. Make sure you use a quality brand for 91 octane. So I been filling up at CHEVRON. So moral of the story is they couldnt find any problem. So I will start using 91 from chevron. Non of those mom and pop gas stations. They said if it shuts off again to being it right back.

You blew a comp with a stock engine? Oh man that blows. Good thing you didnt immediately rush out to put pipes and an FP3 on it. Harley needs to start forging those Comp ramps. The rest of the piece is fine. TTS is making forged comp ramps and they're holding well up above 200hp. So it's just the ramps that are breaking. I'm gonna get a compensator delete sprocket when I go stage 2 on the fat boy.
@@alexportnoff Oh since you have an LRS you can use the Man O War sprocket from DarkHorse Crankworks. The Fat Boy, FXDR, and Breakout can't use it because the 240mm wide tire softail frame has a width difference that makes the baker and manowar comp upgrades not fit. Which means the only option for the fat boy is to get one of the forged ones from TTS, or the Twin Power USA comp delete. I disagree, lane filtering in most cases is actually proven to be safer than just sitting at a traffic light for motorcyclists. Lane splitting however, from what I understand, can be a little tricky depending on speed and position but at lower speeds around 20mph should be totally fine in most cases.

I just picked up a new 2021 FXLRS on Saturday with less than 1 miles on it. The clutch cable broke at 3 miles.

I Let the engine come to temp, be easy the first couple miles. Then ride how ever you want. The engine needs to expand and fluids to optimal temp.

Right, surprising at only 170 miles. I was still babying it then for the break in so didn’t dump the clutch at all

That sucks. I know that the first 500 miles is the break-in period where you're supposed to keep the rpms below 3k in any gear.

On the ride I just use an older go pro and some cheap mic from Amazon. The rest I just use my iPhone!

It’s not bad, pretty comfortable overall but I still went with a saddlemen. You can see it in my “HOW TO…” video! The saddlemen is still much better
