The defendant has a very cavalier attitude when it comes to her neighbors’ property. She was happy to have to pay the plaintiff because now, her property has the sunlight she wanted! She thinks that the judgement is a small price to pay for the benefit of doing what she did!!! Absolutely deplorable person!

This is why you get things in writing. If a tree or trees is over hanging your property and are a possible danger let the neighbor know in writing and have them remedy the situation. If the neighbor does nothing and a tree falls or damages your property you have proof the neighbor was warned. And you can sue or get the neighbor's home insurance to pay for it.
P.S. The trees that were cut down were healthy not died, I was a landscaper and tree cutter, and I can tell you they had no right to cut those trees.

The defendant is lucky that the planttiff didn't know beforehand and press trespassing charges against her. I live on a 5 acre lot that had a well maintained barb wire fence that ran between my property and the property next to me. The nasty people that bought the other property decided that they could tear it down because the deer would jump over it. The fence was completely on my property and not once did they ask me about taking it down, probably because they knew I would say no. At 7:00 a.m. one day I hear all this noise coming from the area of the fence so I went out to check on it. They had excavators and a whole bunch of other equipment running through my yard and tearing down my fence. They damaged dozens of trees and plants in the process. When I went to talk to the them and the company they hired to remove it, they stated that they "rang my door bell and I didn't answer so they figured they'd just do it," I was in the damn shower, of course I didn't answer the door. I wanted to call the police and charge them with trespassing and destroying my property, but my husband wasn't home and he feared for my safety if I did that. T can't believe how entitled this world has become. People seem to think that they can do whatever they want to anyones property and get away it. In my case they did, they were never held accountable for anything. An older couple live in the property and the husband is a creeper. Every time I go outside and he's out there, he's standing behind a tree watching me, like I can't see him. We live out in the country in a small subdivision with only 25 homes in it. It was a peaceful place until they moved in, now they're the nasty couple always causing problems and everyone knows who they are. If people would just respect each other's property the courts might have enough time to schedule hearings for criminals and get them off the street. With entitled people like the defendants around, I don't see that happening any time soon.

It's interesting that the Defendant has NO PHOTOS of the cleared away debris(clear land with no piles of tree debris). I think 1k is reasonable given all those cut up logs/branches.
